I have been to SD about 8 times now and never have had an issue with a policemen. Actually, they have cut many hustler and chicas (as if there is a difference) short and gotten me out of 1or 2 situations. I have paid a propina or two too set the stage for a pleasant surrounding. However, NEVER been hustled like some of you are stating. Once again, EVERY incident I have seen has been a monger showing his ass from Sosua, POP to Sdq. I'm sorry if you guys have had issue and don't doubt it but after renting cars et all never had any issues of strong arming.

GBP is the most outstanding for the dollar. It's the Target of cases. First stop of every trip from now on.. As well as a few holes in the wall on pasture. A couple don't have signs but WOW!

It is a hole in the wall type of place. Nothing fancy about GBP. When you get to the door, you have to ring the doorbell and a chica will come and open the door. Above the door is a neon sign: "GBP".

The place is not the easiest to find. It is on a major street, the south side of Avenida 27 de Febrero between Avenida Lincoln and Avenida Tiradentes (depending where you are coming from, usually most guys are coming Gascue, take Ave. Lincoln north until you get to ave. 27 de febrero where you will make a right, about 3/4 of the way going east on ave. 27 de febrero before ave. tiradentes, you will see a sign for Arismendy Motors). It is on the second floor of a building that is right after Arismendy Motors. The building has round openings in the walls. There is perpendicular parking in front of the building for about 8 cars (the building has letters on the outside "Guidry" or something like that). If those spots are full, you can make a right on the small side street right after Arismendy Motors and park your car there. At the corner of the building there is a set of exterior stairs. Walk up one flight and GBP will be on the second floor, it is the first place nearest that corner of the building.

Boricua Online's google map is a great resource, he has pinned the locations of many, many places. He has included phone numbers and pricing information for some of the places.

If you drive at night in Santo Domingo Este (Zona Oriental), the policia nacional have groups of police stopping cars on just about every major street there, Carretera Mella, Carretera Mendoza, Avenida St Vincent de Paul and Avenida Charles de Gaul. When I was stopped in Zona Oriental, for the most part the policia were polite.

My last trip, getting stopped twice in the span of about two hours on Avenida Maximo Gomez by four rude, nasty, obnoxious Policia Nacional, pissed me off. I was also about to be pulled over in Zona Colonial, late one night, I was lucky because I got to the indoor parking garage of the Hotel Palacio before the two policia on a motorcycle could get to me. I saw policia on motorcycles circling around on the Malecon and Independencia late at night. All I have ever seen them do is pull over new cars.

I could be OK with them for pulling me over for nothing. I let the cops see my license and the paperwork for the car. No drugs in my car, no guns, no smell or marijuana in my car, no smell of alcohol on my breath, no other persons in my car. Everything perfectly legal, they should say: "Have a nice day", but they don't. With a rude, threatening manner they ask the same questions over and over (Usually dark streets, one cop told me to turn off the inside light of the car after I was stopped, they have on bullet proof vests and 9 millimeter pistols at their sides and it is two police riding on one motorcycle). Thanks[/QUOTE]Hilton Hotel is in the Malecon Center. There is a casino next door and a mall with shops, restaurants, a few bars and movie theaters. Close to the Hilton there is a strip club with international chicas (Doll House) most with silicone tetas. I have never been in there, from what I have read, asking prices 200 US Dollars and up.

Closest thing to a disco with working girls is Coppa Disco in Hotel Melia. All types of people hang out there, except really poor folks. It is not a big place inside. Can be difficult telling who is a pro and who is a non-pro there. Coppa is open every night.
