So like all the senior members, I have also started getting these PMs (not that I m a senior member but still) from new members who have zero posts, nothing to share, no background. And like any new member will do, they message senior members asking for contacts, now whenevr I get such an message I think about myself 6 months back. I was in an exact same position and I did not know where to start from and where to exactly to look. Being a newbie you have a lot things going on in your mind, you don't want any problems, want your experiences to go nice and I think most of us have been there.

Most of the times when answering to such messages I find myself in a dilemma, which is if I should or should not help them. I think about myself 6 months back and think if the members who did help me hadn't helped me then I would not have been in a position to help others but then I think of the people who haven't been so helpful and offcourse these are contacts that I have built over a period of time and if I should share them or not with members who have nothing to share in return.

I don't really know how to go about it and would appreciate the views of senior members on this.

This forum is about free information exchange to help other fellow mongers. As long as you are comfortable about your hard earned contacts not getting blown up by a newbie, why care? You can always exchange PM with the requester to get some additional background until you are comfortable. The more mongers that share, the stronger the overall network gets, the more FR's that are written and better reviews we can get on who to avoid.

No dilema at all.

Most of the time you may ignore them but at some moments of when you are high you may throw away some contacts. This is the time for the newbee to manage scavenging and grow!

So for the first time in Delhi I got lucky.

Here's how things went. Went with a friend for hunting.
