I'm asian and speak no Japanese, except for 'how much' and 'I'm not Japanese, is it OK if I come in?'. Playgirl was one of the few places that would take foreigners, but it did cost me 60000Y. They had some hot pictures, but did a bait and switch. The girl I got was attractive, but nowhere near the supermodel they showed me the picture of. The service was fantastic. BBBJ until the time was up, multiple shots, great mat play and FS. A bit pricey, but I think all the places with hot girls that will take foreigners will be about the same price. I also hit a place on the other side of the street about 2 blocks down, toward the subway station. It was only 25000(maybe 30000). I got to choose between two girls, both a little older and overweight, and service and facilities were decent, but not repeatable.

Or better yet, learn the language of the land and get DH service for less than 1/3 that amount, including the hotel. You can even get some DH ladies to stay the night with you for not much more. Is it a case of more money than sense?

Is it a case of more money than sense?[/QUOTE]It's a different kind of, and generally caliber of, service.CB/AM/DH don't, among other things, provide the mat play and body wash services of soaplands.I've also never heard of a DH gal getting anyone to pop a dozen times in two hours (a house record at a Yoshiwara house called Martini, supposed to be the best in the area) - and I know I've been coaxed into half a dozen myself by Fujimoto at Mink (You have to speak Japanese at that one though).It's not something you would want to make a steady mongering diet of, in much the same way that you wouldn't want to dine on 5 star French cuisine every night. But sometimes you want to give yourself a decadent treat.

I think in a word, ambiance. Soaplands (high class ones) are extremely comfortable, efficient and enjoyable. Remember that these places used to be called Turkish Baths at one time. You go there for the bath and to be pampered. The service is exceptional and you are treated like a VIP. The fact that sex is included is only part of the service. If you just want to get off, you don't need to waste your money.You have to remember that you're in a country where men pay very big sums of money just to go to a hostess bar to drink, be flattered, have their cigarettes lit and not even get any sex or touching. To outsiders, this is really outrageous. A soapland is very similar in that vein except it includes sex.A DH experience is about getting off at a hotel room or apartment. Actually, I was trying to see it from a Japanese perspective. You're paying for ambiance and service.Love hotels are mostly self-service and you have to make a phone call for DH. With a soap, you just show up and everything is taken are of. Additionally, in general, the ladies at high class soaplands are much cleaner and safer than DH ladies. Soaplands have a reputation for being meticulous about the health of the ladies and they are very protective of their reputations. DH is hit or miss. Inherently, there is a certain risk in this business. I assume that the risk is minimal when customers and girls behave responsibly, and I`d think one sign of that is when the customers are willing to pay reasonable money and the girls take care of themselves. But that is also the case with DH. So I really don`t see what you base that difference on.I`d draw the line between DH/soap and street hookers in Shin-Okubo or dingy short-time boxes, of course.

Some DH girls hae the skills, but many are part-timers who are really amateurs looking for a few yen. High class soap girls will have reps for great skills and spend more time on cleaning (and inspecting no doubt). They probably have far fewer customers given the sessions are always 2 hours, so the chances of catching something are reduced.

Not those I'm familiar with in both northern Japan and in Kyushu. Most have two options--50 minutes and 70 minutes. Given that the ladies there can go from one customer to another in 10-15 minutes, they're far more likely to have more per day than are DH women, who often have to travel for 20 minutes or more both before and after a session. In fact, I've asked numerous ones I've been with several times how many they usually have in one day, and the typical answer is 2-3.Additionally, most of the DH women I've been with from 19 to 40s have children and many also have husbands, so they have compelling reasons to stay healthy. Of the dozens I've been with, all required use of a rain coat (even though I'd never enter one without, anyway).And Nino is right: If you go to a good, clean love hotel with a lovely DH lady, I guarantee you'll get the same (or better) service you get at a soapland in many if not most cases. Plus, you have complete privacy, and in my experience, several have given more time than I've paid for.

Video Box Are there any video boxes in Tokyo that offer service anymore? I was at a great place near Daimon station this time last year where for about $40 you could get great hand service from friendly young university girls and had a choice of A course to D course with varying levels of service. I went back this week and now the place just has booths where you can watch video for around $20.hr - no service, just movies now. I looked for the video box in Shibuya (Dolphin/Olive/Maple) and it in now closed as is the one near Gotanda station. I found a few video boxes in Shinjuku, Shinbashi and Ikeburo (Chance Video Box) and all these also seem to now just have vending machines that allow you to rent a booth and movies, but no menu for service? (There seems to be a big chain of these places in all of the entertaiment districts in Tokyo with a logo of a yelling salary man with a headband - but all these places are just for watching videos - no suggestion of services being available). Are there any video boxes that actually still have service available or is this not and option in Tokyo anymore??? These used to be great, cheap, clean places.

Stayed at the Shinagawa Prince for the last 2 nights. Got out around the area tonight. Near the McDonalds, across from Shinagawa Station, I was approached by a rather undesirable, bleached blonde, chubby, middle-aged, Japanese, saying, "sexy massage?". For research purposes only, as I don't think I would ever drink enough to go with her, I asked how much? "30,000 for good sexy massage". I heard her asking "how much you offer?" as I was walking away.I saw a few more in her catagory, plus 2 or 3 younger, better looking ones, that seemed to be hanging out, as I saw them during several passes thru over about a 2 hour period. Unfortunately, don't think the younger ones go for westerners, as I could not get their attention.

Also, the slip-sliding fun is only available to mongers who find the properly equipted room and match it with a girl who happens to be free and knows what to do. High end soaps have reputations to maintain and offer the full course, unlike the many on-the-fly DH shops (which are often nothing more than a guy with a phone and list of willing girls).Still, I totally agree that DH is a better deal, as you well know, and a soapland experience is possible with a little scheduling and luck.
