Ho Chi Minh City - Massage Parlors

Here's my report on Lido which is the same place that Larry L Lizard went to earlier. The price for entry and a one-hour massage is 100, 000 if you come before noon, I forget how much it is after noon. This comes with a free foot massage although you will be expected to leave a separate tip for it. Obviously, you don't have to take the foot massage if you don't actually want one.

The girl I got was perhaps a 7, slightly chubby for an Asian girl. Nonetheless, she knew what to do to turn negotiation in her favor. So when it came time, she asked, I said yes, and then she asked how much. Of course, her first offer was something like 500, 000, a ridiculous sum to pay for 15 minutes of work in Vietnam. Yet there is probably somebody not knowing any better who will pay that much every once in awhile.

After explaining how often I get massages and how often I usually pay I still was only able to get her down to 160, 000. Afterwords, she complained some and asked for more but in the end she also told me to come back and ask for her by name/number and that she would go for the same price next time.

Total damage here was 260, 000. Let them know you've been here awhile, you'll be here a while, and you know what the local prices are.

Does anyone know the address to Vien Dong Massage? I have RTFF and have only read some mention of it, but no real report and location. It is supposed to be popular with the locals. I am white, so would I be accepted?

My experience is that when the girl insists too long time for getting high price, she usually also gives a bad handjob! Anyway, there is no contract signed! bad service = bad tip!
I remember once a massage girl got me crazy at Bongsen Hotel. First, she gave me a poor massage. Secondly, she got me nervous insisting on getting a too high price. It was similar as with you. Finally, getting tired I agreed for less than she wanted, but more than what I should pay. Of course, she gave me a quickie without trying in any way to provide a good service. Finally, she left me alone 5mn to answer her mobile phone. I was so upset that I went out of the room by myself while she was phoning. When I went to the counter to pay my massage she was looking what I put in the "tip" line, and I just put 0!

Sometimes it's better to take another massage than to stay with a girl who you feel she considers you as a sucker!

Vien Dong is on Pham Ngu Lao street but I forgot the number. If you are heading from the Ben Thanh market, it will be on your left hand side after De Tham Street.

Do they give you a plastic bag there for your valuables to carry with you? At a 4-5 star hotel I usually don't worry, but at other places I like to keep my valuables in hand. The Vien Dong, by the way, gives you a bag. The major drawback with the VD (which is generally a nicely run place) is that the girls seldom know how to give a decent massage. If it were baseball, they would be closers only.

Massages at Vien Dong is 100K for an hour. If you go before 4pm, you get an hour and a half. I haven't been there in awhile so I don't remember if they still have that promotion.
Most girls only do HJ there, once in awhile, you'll find a gril who will give you a BJ. I usually tip 100k -150k depending on the girl. If she gives me a BJ, then I give her 200K.

Hey all, thanks for the feed back on Vien Dong. Through your reports about VN, I decided to check out another place outside of D1. A fellow distinguished member of another forum hooked me up with the address and # of the girl. WOW. The BEST massage I have ever had in Vietnam to date.

First off, it is in Thu Duc, so is a little way out (up to 1 hr), but the number of foreigners going there are fewer. Got the VIP room 100K. Small locker inside room. As soon as the guy escorted me to my room and left, the girl walked in. She undressed me in a very explorative manor.

She put me in the steam room for a while, its ok. I like the lemon grass smell, but not much into steam. Besides, we were waiting for the bath tub to fill up. She pulled me out of the steam room and into the tub. From there, she washed every part of me, paying very particular attention to my tool and ass. Very methodical and not rushed.

From the start she had a great bubbly attitude for the cute 24y/o. After a thorough washing/bath/shampoo. On came my shorts. She was also wearing loosely fitted clothing, not as nice looking as the teases in D1, but MUCH more accommodating.

A lot more playing and on my front I go. She did the rub/pounding routine. Not bad, but not great. On the flip, she asked if I wanted a BJ. I said yes. She said 400K. I then said 200K. I have gotten a lot of responses back requesting the address, so I thought I would also give an update. (PM me for the info.)

Been back a couple times and checked out different girls. It seems that the tongue bath is pretty much their signature move at this place with all the girls. All else varies with the provider. I only experienced the salad toss and titty job with one girl. However, another one was CIM and a much better massage / better looking.

Had the chance to see a lot of the girls in there, most of them are normal / average lookers, (except one that I found and experienced). I even told one girl to leave because we didn't hit it off right away in the same magic that I experienced before. Glad I did.

Its worth a try at least once. Friendly staff and the more I went, the place didn't look that bad.

Padlock your trousers to show sex is off-limits, Indonesian tourist town tells its masseuses

Massage parlours in an Indonesian town are asking their female masseuses to padlock their skirts and trousers to make it clear that sex is not on offer.

But the move provoked a protest from the minister for women's affairs in Indonesia, where massage parlours are often a front for prostitution.

"It is not the right way to prevent promiscuity," Meutia Swasono said. "It insults women ... as if they are the ones in the wrong."

Ms Swasono said CCTV was the best way to safeguard women workers in the parlours.

At least one parlour in the tourist town of Batu on Java island has required its masseuses to padlock their skirts or trousers to make it clear that the establishment does not tolerate prostitution.

Others in the town started following suit after local officials suggested it was a good idea at a recent meeting with massage parlour owners.

The Jakarta Post, which quoted Ms Swasono, also showed a photograph of a masseuse with a padlock on the waist band of her trousers and said the local administration's move was aimed at curbing prostitution and maintaining Batu's image as a popular tourist destination.

"The padlocking phenomena has been seen at various parlors and it is something we like," said Imam Suryono, the head of Batu's public order authority.

He denied media reports that he had formally ordered masseuses to wear padlocks.

Batu, 75 km (46 miles) south of Indonesia's second-biggest city, Surabaya, is a popular tourist destination for its cool climate, hot springs and mountain scenery.

Indonesia has a flourishing sex industry and massage parlours are frequently a front for prostitution. But there has been a vigorous debate over morality in recent years, exposing deep divisions in the Southeast Asian Muslim-majority nation.

Last month, Indonesia passed a bill to restrict access to pornographic and violent sites on the internet, while its parliament has yet to pass a controversial pornography bill that aims to shield the young from pornographic material and lewd acts.

Earlier draft versions contained provisions that could jail people for kissing in public and criminalise many forms of art or traditional culture that hinge on sensuality.

Here if my field report for Sachi and Lido:

1. Sachi Spa. Same story as others, I was not impressed. I had forgotten about reading about Sachi in the forum and was called in by a reasonably looking young woman. "Okay, how bad can it be? " was my initial reaction. First problem, the room is a joke, if you can even call it a room. Basically it's a large room upstairs (climbing a ladder, not really stairs) and there are booths with open air above and below. Think a men's restroom where the toilets are, a bunch of handicap stalls next to each other. At this point I'm not even thinking of mongering, the girl is cute and gives a decent massage, but after 20 mins says "how much you pay me. " She started at 800, 000 and I really laughed out loud. This was a problem because other people were getting massages and could hear us! I tried to call the whole thing off because it wasn't really a good setup, but to make a long story short I ended up paying 300, 000 and got it over with, HJ wasn't even that great. So I echo the sentiment, Sachi is awful, avoid at all cost. Setup sucks, you don't get a decent massage, girls are annoyingly pushy. Oh as a price point I did ask about BBBJ but it started the whole 800, 000 negotiation over again so I got bored.

2. Lido. Food massage was actually really good haha. After a quick steam shower (a bit dingy but got the job done), you go to a relaxation area where they had a TV with no sound. There was some fat Japanese dude snoring next to me which kinda sucked, but the foot massage was good, cute young girl, about an 8. I still think the Thais do it best but this was a close 2nd.

The main massage, however, was just awful. I don't know if this is just a Vietnam thing, but the massages are very sharp and painful, kinda like the girl is using her thumb and middle finger as pincers on your pressure points. Hell, maybe it's supposed to be relaxing but it was painful, esp. Since this girl has smaller hands and couldn't really get to the muscle so she was just pinching flab. Ouch! I also think this girl thought applying pressure against the massage table (standing, pushing, poking, etc.) was relaxing no matter how hard. The massage sucked, it was painful and I coudn't really communicate, and in the end I wasn't even in the mood for a HJ. Sucked, next time I'm going to ask for a light oil massage and go straight to the fun, forget the stupid massage.

Haven't gotten around to Viet Dong but that's right down the street from Lido so it's convenient, that's next.

Anyone has more price points for BBBJ or if it's allowed (a bit weird since there are windows in the doors where people can look in).

As planned, I spent the month of February in Ho Chi Minh City in the Phu Nhuan District. Family home is there. Upon walking in the door of the hotel and heading toward the elevator, I spied a young lady sitting on a bench waiting for who-knows-what. As I pushed the elevator up-button, she jumped up and approached me, asking if I was going for a Massage. I replied in the affirmative and she immediately asked me if I would like her to give me a massage. I looked her over, and trust me, she was a treasure! So I agreed and up we went together.

Now! When we got upstairs, she started trying to convince the manager of the parlor to allow her to massage me! At first he wasnt buying it, and from my limited Vietnamese, I came to understand that she worked in the hotel, but not in the massage parlor! Oh my word! He finally agreed, and off to the showers I went. Upon entering the room, in she came. Her name was K. U. Thats all I will say. The massage was very professional, including walking on my back, then a very professional back snap! My back pain went away immediately, and I knew she had some professional massage training. That alone made it all worth while. It is amazing what being an American will do to women in Vietnam. I think this girl K. You wanted to marry me! Pity. She was more than beautiful, 27 years old and Madonna face and Model body.

On the flip, she started to play with Junior and the Boys (grin) and I immediately hit her up for full service. Noooooooo, hell no, she was afraid. So I hit her up for BJ, and she said no. But, she kept stopping massaging me to give me hugs! Over and over, she would stop massaging me and just hug me and whisper in my ear "Yeu them nhieu lam". I love you! Niceeeeeeee! Sweet! Finally, she agreed to give me what I wanted for 400, 000, and I gladly agreed, accepted, and received! My Gosh! For this girl, I would have agreed to let her do that in the middle of Le Loi Circle at noon, with the whole world doing a video!

Then, she asked me if any extras were offered by the girl, and I told her that no, Thanh Nghia doesnt allow that, and that there is glass in the doors to stop any of that stuff going on. She is comfortable with me going there for a Massage now. 70, 000 for the massage, and any extras negotiated around 200, 000 to 400, 000 but don't count on getting the same as me. However, I will say that the girl staff there are very, very good looking! Have a shot at it fellas and let us know here how you find it!

For the times you want a a proper massage without the BBBJ, HJ, haggling or disapointment. I highly recommend Ngoc Anh Massage on 31/1 Nguyen Binh Khiem Street in Dist. 1. So come from Le Duan Street, get to the Zoo entrance then turn left.

120,000 VND for an hour massage. I usually tip 100,000 VND because I think the girls are trained properly and are genuinely skilled.

You get massaged in a partitioned cubicle. Probably about 6-7 cubicles per floor. It's been the best one I have experienced in Vietnam so far. I highly recommend the hot rock massage offered at not extra cost. They offer the plastic pouches for your valuables and use a piece of paper that you sign to cover the key hole for the locker.

So a pretty professional operation and quite popular with the locals and internationals as the staff do speak English.
