Interesting different take on the hotel as my experience is completely different...well almost. Internet wifi was great except when they changed the password and did not tell me

Laundry is always delivered 48 hour later (says so on the sheet) so I planned for that or went outside.

Service..was OK only issue was at 6am breakfast was not set up which was an issue the days Cebu favourite had a 7am school start...but that improved

And it is a soft opening still so I give the hotel some leeway

As always GF no hassles there just a wry smile from the doorman

My problem is getting from them a decent room rate for Xmas - still no reply for the last 10 days, the manager there is dimwitted and cant see a good thing ...sent me the wrong info to my request regarding 60+ room nights

So IMHO a good hotel, clean, ncice, but needs a little few things but as a soft opening I was very happy and will go back if rates are OK

If you bring lady friends to the hotels like Mariott or Radisson are the lady friends allowed in the pool? ( I am planning on booking a room for two). Even if they are allowed, in general, do the girls have a problem playing in the pools with an obvious non-local? I guess some of it depends on the particular girl, where she is from and how likely she is to run into someone who may recognize her etc. Or, may be I am over analyzing this based on my experiences in other countries. Any thoughts?

Stay at a hotel in Makati, you'll see barely legal Pinays cavorting in the hotel pool with poriners triple their age. Stay at a hotel in Malate, you'll see the same thing. Puerto Galera, ditto. Angeles or Subic, ditto again. Except in those places the poriners will sometimes be closer to quadruple the girl's age.

And nobody cares. It's normal in Phils, accepted.

The only thing you'll maybe get is the odd dirty look from a female western tourist. But who cares? She might whisper her outrage to her western husband at her side. Looking for cheap(but not nasty) hotels in cebu, near the action, would rather spend my money on more interesting activities than a flash hotel room.

I agree with the fellow poster. The other thing I would add is to buy some very skimpy bikinis ...my favourite site is wicked weasel but these can be a tad expensive...and make all the guys jealous. Cebu favourite and I have just chosen her next bikini and they is not much of it......but it will definitiely raise my blood pressure :D

Any thoughts?[/QUOTE]Most girls are used to swimming in their T's and shorts. Few own bathing suits. Invest in a couple of string bikinis, (easily adjusted for size). Otherwise, you will probably be told your cavorting friends must leave the pool, putting a 'damper', so to speak, on planned activities. Girls are thrilled to be given sexy string bikinis, and trying them on in your room.

Will be a fun prelude to things to come.

Try the Diplomat Hotel situated on F. Ramos Street. It is three star and you can get a good sized double room for around 1200 pesos with room safe. I have stayed there before to escape from my gf and it is clean, secure and well located. It is a five minute walk to the Mango Square bars, a few minutes walk to Robinsons Mall and a short cab ride away from Ayalla and the restaurants in Lahug. If you want somewhere cheap and girl friendly then this is my recommendation. I once even brought three girls to my room at the Diplomat without so much as a raised eyebrow from the security guard. Of course for that price you do not get breakfast, there is no free wifi, no swimming pool and rooms are large but basic. If you are on a budget then this place takes some beating

Just finished 3 months in Philippines and now I'm comfortable with the GV Tower Hotel (850p per nite - promo rate). Location is in Colon, not an upscale area for sure, but actually convenient for provence girls coming
into town to see "daddy".

Questor55 and WR, than you for the great bikini tip. Buying online is not an option for me. Are there bikini shops in one of the malls?

Expect to pay around 500-600 pesos for a string bikini and another 100 or so, for a wrap around sarong. The sarong is likely to be essential, as the girls will be too self conscious to parade around without this additional cover.

Some will take convincing before they take the plunge and remove the sarong. Usually followed by a sense of elation that they actually did something this daring. However, afterwards, they are probably ready for anything.

I always buy several at a time, so that I don't have to keep running back to the bikini shop. BTW take lots of photos of your bikini clad babe, so she can show them off to her friends.

Any of these nice hotels like Marriott or Radisson, any of these offer free wi-fi in the rooms? At least in their lobby? Even if they have fast Ethernet connection in the room, I can use my own wireless router. Thank you.

Elizabeth good hotel but watch out for over booking I pay cash my hotel stay but they wanted a depoist of 20. 000. 00 peso so I did went I left I pay bil in full ask for my rec. For deposit. Can't find it but went we do we know you pay in full tow weeks later get credit card bill they chanrged my card the 20. 000. 00 so be careful thank Charles.
