The latter form of traveling sure seems more adventurous for me,but takes more time and will be more tiring.

btw did you feel UNSAFE in Asc. of in Paraguay in general???

The streets of downtown Asuncion felt safe to walk around during the day and night time I was never bothered. We were told not to go to Plaza Uruguay at night, but the centro part of Asuncion felt comfortable to me.

I liked the Paraguayan beer, it was real smooth. Some of the brand names had German names to it. It cost about 30c a bottle, if you can believe that!

I didnt see too many Germans walking around Asuncion, most of the people looked latino, not like in Argentina and Brazil where you see some people who are light skinned and blonde hair.

I found an appartment (the Aparthotel Don Gerardo), does anyone know how this place is, it seems to be a bit far from the city center (it is in centro paraguayo Japonés), would it be a problem (i.e. is it dangeruos)?

I've been living in Asuncion for over a year now, so I consider myself to be an expert on prostitution in Paraguay. I've also visited prostitutes in Brazil, Czech Republic, Holland, Argentina, Uruguay and in the United States. If you guys have any questions about those places, let me know. I'd be glad to help.

Prostition is very common in Paraguay. Every male has been to one at least once in their lives and many girls will sell their bodies directly or indirectly. Since prostitution is common here you have many options. I list them as follows:

(Not recommended)
1) On the street. Go to Palma street and the street that runs parallel to it. There are many girls and some are good looking, but you have many better options. The street girls are do not sevice very well. They have sex like dead fish do. Although cheap (about 20 dollars for an hour), the street scene can be dangerous and dirty. Many of these girls were kicked out of brothels or from 'modeling agencies' for contracting something. You also take them to dirty, smelly, and sketchy 'hotels' with condoms on their floors and dirty sheets. This is your cheapest but worst option.

2) Karem Club. This place sucks and is expensive by Asuncion standards. For about 60 dollars, plus drinks, you get an hour or two with a nasty girl. Some are missing teeth and have funky smells down below. The host is a wierdo who will just sketch you out. This is the plave known the most by taxi drivers. Just stay away from here. One plus is that these nasty girls do have good sex.

3) Other brothels. These range from mediocure to excellent. The girls are not to into it but can be very good looking. Just hope that your taxi know the best one.

4) Faces Pub (on Brasilia street), especially on Thursday nights. The girls here on not 'pros' just students trying to make a buck or models who need extra cash. Prices range from 40 dollars to 800 for a top model. The bonus is that you get the girls for the whole night. Your taxi driver will definetly know how to get there.

5) Siren Modeling Group. This is the best option for foreigners in Asuncion. The owner is a young American and is an honest business man. You can either call him or email him with questions or to request information. He is helpful and not sketchy and also offers advice on all things Paraguayan (especially nightlife, hotels and resturants). The girls range from very pretty to very hot and they all service their clients very well. The owner of the business claims that his girls like to have sex, thus they are better at it. Although Siren is expensive (100 dollars plus tip) it is by far the best option in Asuncion. You get the girl for the entire night and they are cordial, hot and ready to please. You can take them out or just stay in your hotel with them. It seems like they actually like to be prostitutes. They also all claim that their boss tests them once a month, so this option is much safer than the others. I think the owner's name is Brandon or Brad. Chicob, your hotel is far from downtown, you'll need a taxi to go anywhere.

Your options

1) As pointed before, downtown area, Palma and Estrella streets (they run parallel to each other). Plenty of girls there, last weekend 40-50 girls. Prices ranged from Gs 50,000 to 100,000 (US $ 8.20 to 16.40)

2) Along Mariscal Lopez street you’ll find girls on the street and the motel selection it’s much better than in downtown. Girl’s prices Gs 50,000 to 100,000; motel room with Jacuzzi Gs 100,000, my favorite motel is the millennium. You’ll find cheaper rooms, Gs 30,000. There are 6 or 7 motels next to each other. Your taxi driver can drive you and help you pick a girl, drop you at the motel and pick you after a couple of hours or have the people at the motel call for a taxi.

3) Use the newspaper for ads, try Noticias, Cronica or Popular, girl’s prices are the same, Gs 50,000 to 100,000; add Gs 20,000 for anal sex. I have them to show up in my room 2 or 3 then I pick the one I want.

4) There are a couple of internet sites, asunsex.com.py and secretos.com.py

Chicob: I'm not clear about your question but I'll try to answer it... Yes you can get GFE. About the time if the girl is independent she will not watch the clock but if she is from an agency she'll be watching the clock. Of course YMMV, be nice to them.

Rodriguinho: The price will be Gs50,000 - 100,000 may be 120,000. I used a couple of girls but they are not on the site anymore. They were Pamela and Greta.

No info on distance from Bolivia or Salta.

About accomodations, they're not cheap for a decent hotel. Try Chaco hotel, they were charging $50 and you don't have problems bringing girls.

There is also Plaza Hotel in front of the Plaza uruguaya, I have no idea about the price but looks cheap. Couple of block from the Chaco hotel.

I haven't had problems bringing girls at the hotels that I have stayed in Asuncion. And according to the girls the front desk people call them for their guests.

Do not stay around the bus terminal, it's safer on the downtown area. A couple of cops on every corner!

And I'll skip Ciudad del Este and move on to Foz.

A warning: I was told that some girls on the street will try to give you a sleeeping pill and rob you, so be careful.

First, I like to thank Norton Dog and Agus for their great info. I dedicate this post to Jwadd, whose post convinced me to go here in the first place.
I´m here in Asuncion since Friday. I planned to be here only in the weekend, but I like it so much that I stay for another week at least. I wanted to write daily reports, but internet here is very slow, and in Saturday and Snday everything is closed (except restaurants).

Hotel: I´m staying in the Asuncion Palace hotel (in Colon and Estrella). I realy like this hotel, the stuff is very nice and helpfull. It feels like an European 3 stars hotel. Rooms are big and beutiful, breakfast is bad. Official price is 30 US$, but without even asking I got a discount for 20US$.

Working girls: I only tried the girls in the streets (Estrella and Palma). In any given night there are between 25 to 50 girls working in the streets. Almost all of them are young (unlike other reports, I fortunately didn´t see any girl that look under 18), around their 20-25 y.o. . I was quoted the same price with all the girls: 50,000 guaranies (about 8.5 dollars!). The girls look ok, all of them latinas. There are no super models here, but some can get about 8. They start arriving in 8:00 pm, and I think that after 12 they start leaving but I´m not sure about that.
As for GFE, I think it depends on you and the girl. For 50,000 guaranies, no chance she will stay with you all night. I guess that if you offer enough she will stay (Probably 30 US$ should be enough?). What I like here is the fact that despite it´s SWs and a cheap hotel, there is not much of the "cum and go" atmosphere that there is with many SWs around the world. Although, in the end, you do cum and go here...
I was with 3 girls. The first, Suzi, was an 8 and was a very nice girl. No kissing, but good sex and relaxing atmosphere.
The second, Maria, was a 7 and the nicest I met here. We kissed like real lovers, and in general it was a GFE experience (for 30 minutes at least...).
The third was a Brasilian Blond girl, 7, was a terible experience. I Think she was "on" something, andd I just wanted it to be over.

NON PRO GIRLS: This is the realy interesting scene here. I´m a 27 y.o. ok looking guy, but no more than average, and in my country, girls usualy don´t even look at me... Here, it´s another story. I have blue eyes, and turns out that this is not common in Paraguay. Every girl in the street, every girl, is looking at me and leave no doubt that she wants to get to know me. I´m not exagarrating, this has never happenned to me, and I Realy feel like a king here. It´s like my dreams, that all the girls will want me, are coming true here thanks to my blue eyes. I´m a shy guy and don´t usualy have much success with girls, but here, the rules are different!
Apparently, this happens with Blond guys too. I met an English tourist, who is blond and also usualy considered only average looking, and he has the same fans here. This is realy amazing!
Now I have here a girlfriend, but thankfully she´s working during the day so I get to know many other local girls. I love this place!

Restaurant: I found in the centre only one good restaurant, but this one is realy fantastic: Rodizio. It´s in Palma st. . Yoy pay by the kilo, and the price is always low (Never paid more than 20,000 guranies, little more than 3US$.)

Safety: Many policemen in the street, I felt very safe in all hours of the day and night.
