Alright, I will fess up what I know, not much.

I recently finished a tour in Souda Bay. This place is nice not much to do. There are couple of places that offer nude bathing unfortunatelly they are very exclusive and they are for invitation only. As far as WP there arent much either. There are two strip joints one in the center of Xania and the girls there are a bit in the gold digging side they are fiiiine but very expensive you can pick them up for about 300 euros after their shifts are over. The best thing that I found was to head to the night clubs and the bars local girls will go home effortlessly and will provide a good time
I am set to go back over there next year and I am hoping to have better luck over there.

Read the reports with dismay, going back to Crete in March and was looking forward to it. I was there in the 70's and girls were cute, friendly, and in the 3-5 USD range. Boy have times changed.

Then there is the Playboy Club. On the coast road, as you are leaving Chania, maybe 8 km on the left or 3 km before Stallos there is a lower class hostess type club frequented mostly by the locals. Guys, there's nothing so frustrating as vague directions when you are on foot in an unfamiliar city with maybe only a short time away from family or colleagues. So I have gone to great lengths to be specific on location and access. This is in some ways a penance for not writing up my two excellent trips to Prague in June and December 2006. However that city is very well documented already, only experiences and opinions differ.

I could find nothing in Souda (and I drove around backstreets around the central area several times) so this is about Chania.

The red light district in Chania is described by others but inexactly. It took me 40 min of brisk walking to find it at the extreme East end of the harbour just before the North end of Minoos (ΜΙΝΟΟΣ) street just before the opening in the city wall through which you can see the sea outside the harbour. Looking North (facing the sea), the last block on Minoos has two alleyways (one next to a stencilled sign 'One message for Nato Soldiers: Fuck off' - this tipped me off that this is exactly where this activity takes place!) these connect to a parallel courtyard ΙΑΡΟΔΟΣ ΜΙΝΟΟΣ. There are about ten walkups cheek by jowl. I found and checked these out on Saturday afternoon at about 2pm and they were cool about me seing the girls and saying I would be back in the evening. I visited five and found as follows. The one with steel grille yellow wall with a crayon 3 on had a a sign in the entrance saying ΑΦΡΟΔΙΤΙ. The girl, Afroditi, was allegedly and believably greek (from Thessaloniki) with a slim hourglass figure and a mane of dark hair and a beautiful oval face.More of this girl later...

The next three were each staircases to a first floor. Surprisingly, it it not even cost a lot at all.... I payed 30€ for a 28 - 33 yesr old German lady. Not a 10 I would say, but really not bad. After paying 30€ you does not feel like ripped off either.. Good.

I keep seartching in the Rethymnon ares, and found two strip clubs that I will visit. Those are open late, and being located East (8km) of Rethymnon . One in Platanes (on the side road of the E90), the other one along the E90 right side when going East, about 10kn from Rethymnon .

There is a club that is open (after 23PM), located about 8 km East from Rethymnon. Follow the High Way (E90) East. The club is located along the side (left) of the road, and there is a viable sign up in the air next to the road, saying strip club. The place is next to a AVIN gas station.

This is not the best place I've been, but it is one of the few on the Create island. When I was there it was 4 - 5 girls there of various quality. Now and then they did a show. I assume (did not try due to little time) you can get them in bed.

There is also an other that I did not visited few km Vest of this place. In order to find it you turn Vest on the E90 from the other club and take of the E90 on next intersection (small) then you are in Platanias. Continue Vest on the "express road" and you find it on right hand side next to the road, same sign as the other club.

The Medusa strip club and similar are far too expensive for locals (other than rich ones) and I'd guess the red light alley mainly targets international sailors and military from Souda Bay and horny tourists.

This leads me to guess that local men (Greeks, Albanians etc) in Chania have their own spots to go to that would be far better value than something as upmarket as Medusa and probably set up quite differently.

I note Medusa did not seem to have Russian strippers - there were Romanians and an Uzbek and a Greek girl I think. Since Russian "hostesses" are all over Greece I'm wondering where the **** they operate in Chania.

Well I can offer an up-to-date off-season (winter) report for the Medusa "Prive" Club in Chania.

DISCLAIMER: I have never been to clubs like this in Europe before so I don't have much to compare with. What seems expensive to me may be the going rate.

I decided to check out what seems to be a local strip club in Chania, at least the one I know - Medusa (strange name for a strip club). This is not hard to find: from the 1866 Square in the center of Chania, walk along Chatzimichali Giannari Str (on the side where Goodies is) and take the first proper street on the left (Apchontakis). If you go soon after they open (11pm) it is relatively smoke free but this changes within a few hours to the usual smoke-filled COPD hell of a Greek night spot. The male staff are polite and speak English but you know who is in charge. I was careful to be polite myself. The bouncers/staff are everywhere, watching.

This is definitely not a downmarket club and the girls are a pleasant surprise here: *very* high quality, hot, some quite beautiful, all have *great* bodies. Incredible asses. And not ridiculously tarty looking, some have style and intelligence. The ones I spoke to (only a few speak English but you can communicate more or less with the others) said they come from Romania, France and Greece, ranging in ages from about a young-looking 21 (looked 19) to mature-ish, maybe 35. But damn good looking man. They will come up and talk to you between doing an athletic topless pole dance (but G-string bottoms stay on there). They want you to "buy them a drink" rather desperately - this means "champagne" (yeah, right!) and costs Eur50. Fuck that.

For Eur50 you can also have a "private" which means you go to a little cubicle with her for a lap dance. You can't see hardly anything in there, it's almost pitch black, barely enough visibility to perform the lap dance. So you can forget about getting a good look at their privates. This is one strip club where you don't see pussy on the poles and you can't see it in the cubicles either (perhaps next time I should bring a torch haha!). You can grope them a *surprising* amount in there though, if she was anything to go by, and it's almost affectionate in character. It is supposed to last 15 mins but doesn't - more like 5 mins, certainly less than 10 mins. You pay a male staff member in advance. Not bad but I felt way too short for the money.

The people who run these bars in Greece, besides not understanding the Western concept of smoke-free ventilation, apparently do not understand the concept of value for money. It's just about extracting as much money as possible from drunk guys. Eur50 is not a trivial amount of money to most Greeks in a country where average salaries are only Eur1000/month or less (not enough to live properly on). Greece is a ripoff country where most everything is overpriced (sadly, for Greeks, too). In the tourism bonanza days they got away with this, with tourists paying stupid prices for anything, but that is changing. However greed is such that they will simply not drop the price of anything for anything, which is partly why Greece has been hit so hard by the recession.

Traditionally, it seems Greek men will unload considerable euro buying tarts drinks in bars in order to look like a real big deal macho malaccas guy, but to us foreign visitors this seems like a really stupid waste of money, and of course it is. I won't do it. I want their clothes off and my hands half way up their ass if I'm going to give them any money at all. I want to sniff the glove.

Despite the fact I told them all (as nicely as possible) that I would not buy them a drink of pink soda water at Eur50 they kept coming back (though less frequently with time) to chat.

I don't know if any of these girls would meet out of hours to do business. I imagine freelancing would be "discouraged" so be very discrete if you try this. That might be the only way though of getting value for money and a good fuck. It might be expensive. I have read figures of Eur300 quoted to fuck a girl from a Greek club like this, which is ridiculous. For that I'd want an all-nighter with a Victoria Secrets model, she should suck my balls, lick out my arse for an hour, choke on my cock, fuck my brains out, let me come up her ass and over her face and then beg me for more and to bear my children in the morning, all with a top quality GFE (just kidding).

Besides the upmarket clubs like Medusa, there are some girly bars in Chania targeting locals (7-15Eur to buy her a drink). Three of these bars can be found near the junction of Skalidi and Kissamou Str in central Chania: Amour Bar (mainly pretty girls, on Skalidi), Delphini Bar (a few girls only, on Metataxi Melitiou or something), and another (worst, frightening, old/ugly/sad women) on Kissamou. The extent of friendliness/contact with these girls varies considerably once you buy them an alleged drink.

Also it is not yet clear whether these bar girls can be taken out or met during the daytime for sex. It seems to be along the lines of a crazy Greek/Balkans macho thing where you are expected to spend lots of money and *still* not get laid. I got prick teased out of my brain by one really nice girl (my own fault!) who insisted she would call me. But of course never did. I just ended up getting frustrated, bored, drunk and angry.
