The point is, what we have in the US isn't feminism-its a kind of degradation of anything male and a plethora of opportunities for women. A lot of it is from pandering, the media, traditional notions of chivalry, puritanism etc. I still don't get how it turned out this way and how there could be such a huge differentiation to the rest of the world. I don't buy the argument that its because of increased financial opportunities for women in the U.S. Plenty of women in Japan, Western Europe have plenty of financial opportunity and they are still civil and reasonable.

I hear ya man, but I don't about those options. Even if one did retire early, say 50, the dating gig's pretty much up at that point. I was introduced to foreign women at my college and then the JET Program in Japan. I saw many guys not wanting to go back, but there isn't as much tolerance abroad for foreigners, employment etc. THe English teaching game is shot to hell, because of the huge flux of anglo-dudes wanting to get out. It seems the only guys that luck out are servicemen (just as likely to go to the mid-east as a cool place), clueless execs that just happen to walk into an expat gig.

In some ways I wish I never went abroad. It's even harder to put up with this after knowing. It did have an effect on my career, changed my priorities. I left med school and am in pharm school now. I'm hoping to work DOD abroad (I choose the base). THen again, I'll be thirty when I go over again. I might have a few good dating years before the women I'm dating hear their bio-clock. Sweet.

A lot of US-based Latins have the worst attributes from both their old culture and the US culture COMBINED. That is not to mention the stupid reggaeton/hip-hop crap that's the rage today. It's absolutely sickening!

3) Going outside the ethnic group/social group is a BIG problem because:

a) Latins in the US have this big stigma attached to them. Either they're looked at as criminals, illegal aliens or the machista-sexist type. I'm neither a criminal nor an illegal alien. And I'm pretty soft for a big guy. Shy even.

b) Again, Latins have this cultural pride thing and, as a result, I have problems trying to break through this barrier. It's stupid but that's what I have to live with.

4) Going back to the "homeland" to look for women is another BIG problem:

a) Most women there think that people coming over from the US already have money or SHOULD have money by now. I'm about as close to broke as possible. So I can't even afford to lie to a woman promising to take care of her because I already have enough drama paying the bills and I can't afford to tack on a woman who turns out to be a manipulating (rhymes with "witch").

b) On that point, you have to realize that Latin women in many countries treat men of the same ethnic group like CRAP. Either they feel that they have to get back at all the other men because of the way many men mistreat them or they have this superiority complex that hides their self-doubt.

c) Like I said before, I am neither black, white nor asian. So I can't even fake an "exotic" look.

So I get no luck with women in the same ethnic AND with women from other ethnic groups.

The real reason why I read this forum is to live through others' reports the fantasy of being that man who is desired, of that confident and well-off man who is adventerous and self-assured. In reality, I am just another nobody in a sea of nobodies. I feel that I can't even look at a woman because I'm afraid she'll report me for harrassment. Maybe I need psychological counseling.

You and most other decent American men are having all kinds of trouble with all American women, regardless of race or ethnicity. Michael Richards went on that racist rant, but for guys who have been abroad and dealt with women in other countries, we KNOW that Black, White, and Latina women here in the US are more similar to each other than different from each other. American women of any race are united by the American culture and its anti-(straight) man bias. I have dated Latinas from Colombia. A White American woman has much more in common with a Black American woman than she does with a White Colombiana.

Let's make a few basic assumptions that you are not overweight and that you have reasonable appearance, dress sense, manners, grooming, dentition, and personal hygiene--but you can't attract women.

It seems to me that all of your problems stem from the fact that you do not have a decent job and therefore only make enough money to pay for your basic needs.

Life is very unfair. Two single men can have the same level of earnings, yet one lives with his parents and pays a nominal rent, and lives close to his job, so has minimal travel expense. He can spend all his money on entertaining himself. The other guy has a mortgage or rent and child support to pay, and spends his spare time watching TV because it is all he can afford.

Clearly you need to improve your money situation.

On the plus side, you grew up in the US, you speak English fluently, you have educational qualifications, you have computer access, and you live in a major metropolitan area, so you definitely have opportunities to upgrade your status in life.

I immigrated to the US 12 years ago. When I arrived I was not completely broke, as I had about $6K, but my first job was for $6 per hour while I went to college to get credentialed. Now I have a decent job, pension rights, I am a landlord, have a decent place to live, and can afford to make trips overseas approximately every 6 weeks.

It may, however, interest you to know that even though I am Caucasian, I have never had much social contact with Caucasian Americans of either sex. Their culture is a mystery to me, and if you didn't go to high school here or belong to a Baptist church and understand football and basketball, you have little chance of cracking the code.

So fucking what? Most of myfriends and associates are black or latino and I like it that way. You are not missing anything by not being accepted by Caucasian Americans. This is America. You can meet and woo women of any racial background. In your city there are millions of people of all kinds of ethnicities who are newly arrived in the US, or second generation like you, who are struggling to survive and make it in the world. They are all insecure and fearful like you, including the women, and desperately looking for someone who will bring some comfort and security to their lives. They are everywhere and you can meet them and befriend them anywhere, in places where they work, in the supermarket, whatever, so there is no real need to go to bars or nightclubs.

Try to chat and flirt with all the women you meet, not just the young attractive ones, and after a while it will become easier.

If meeting women in the US is so easy, you are going to ask, why do we (I) travel overseas and buy sex? Firstly because we can leverage ourselves in the sexual marketplace. Here in the US I can date a nice woman of 50. In the Dominican Republic, I can date a nice woman of 25. Secondly, I actually do have a long term steady girlfriend there, so having extra sex on the side down there is a perk that I enjoy, because the excitement and the intrigue keep me young at heart, but is not essential to my happiness.

So my advice, which you are free to ignore, is concentrate first on sorting out your financial woes, then the women will come to you.

I have a bit of a dilemma and I'm curious what your advice would be.

Like many of you, I'm not that interested in local women (in my case Canadian) and would really prefer a foreign girl. I am Pakistani so I have the option of marrying a girl from back home (not sure if "option" is the right word, but that's another story). Anyways she is good-looking, very intelligent and would of course make a great wife.

Sounds great right? Well, the problem is I'm much more interested in meeting a girl from another country. I'm sure many of you can relate to my desire to be with someone different than my own kind. I want to experience and share in a different culture and language and not be closed off in only my own. Of course there would be more difficulties involved, but it would also be much more interesting to me than just going with the same old boring accepted conventions.

When I look at sites that offer the possibility of meeting foreign ladies and/or romance tours (anyone have any experience with those?), that looks like something I'd really like to try. I'm particularly interested in Asian women, but would my ethnicity cause any problems in those cultures?

What do you guys think? Should I play it safe or should I take a risk that could have a higher payoff?

I am white, 41, Divorced, not too bad looking (no Don Jaun) and my friends do not know how I get so many women. My secret, "I make them laugh"!!! Anytime that I interact with a lady, looks do not matter, I always flirt and try to make them smile and in my 20 years of practicing, it has gotten so routine, that when I am on a date I have to watch myself.

If I am in a P4P bar, I still use my flirting skills to choose my girl, because I know that if she likes me (my attudite) we will have a good time.

Isn't Pakistan in Asia? Aren't you Asian? I have seen people from India, Paksitan, Bangladesh, Tibet, referred to as Asian.

Still, I get what you mean. Personally I refer to those copuntries as West Asian, as in west of the Himilayas, and Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, etc. as East Asian.

I have used introduction agencies, as I wrote below. I have found, as have other men, that foreign ladies do not have any particular prejudices against any one race. They do have stroing preferences as to where they want to live. None of the Latina women I have ever met wanted to live in Asia. If you make it very clear that you live in the US or Europe and so will she, you won't have any extra difficulties.

I recommend that you use agencies at first. I do not know of any particular ones for Asian women, except China Love. However, I have not used it or any other Asian oriented agency.
