Do they sell alcohol in Cairo airport (arrival)?

If they do, is it cheaper to buy it from there?

Also, is there any customs limit on how much I can buy and take with me from the airport?

You can buy 4 liters(the limit) of alcohol when u reach cairo airport take a note that you have 48 hours from your arrival to buy your 4 liters after that you do not have any right to purchase alcohol.Moreover ,you can bring with u 1 liter from your country .Thus the total will be 5 liters.

Please be aware that you can not bring the whole 5 liters with you because the customs are rediclus in this respect and will demand you to pay a lot of money to not seize them , they did it with me before

Yes they are cheaper than buying them from Cairo.

Yes they do sell Alcohol at the Duty Free shops upon arrival.

Just in case you are in a hurry, you can come back to the airport and buy from the freeshop, but only within 24 hours from your arrival stamp date & don't forget your passport.

Cairo Airport has 3 duty free shops, one located before the passport control at the transit area.

Another one located at the arrival hall, but a very small one.

A 3rd one located outside the arrival hall, and it's relatively bigger (2 floors).

It costs much less than buying it at hotels (prices 5 times higher), and I guess there is a limit of 3 bottles (but I'm not sure).

You can pay only in foreign currency (US$, EURO, RIYAL...etc but not in Egyptian Pounds).

They usually don't have wide selections, normally Whisky, Gin, Vodka, Cognac and some Wine.

I'm a Senior Member with lots of posts. I went to Egypt in July, 2005. So guess what I did before my trip - I read the f---ing forum! Also known as RTFF.

And I suggest that you do the same, then write a couple of posts about your experiences. Otherwise you probably won't get much information, since you are a newbie with exactly 1 post! For all we know, you are LE in disguise, too lazy to do your own research.
