No money means businesses stay closed or reduce their overhead including staff. Reduced overhead means poor quality or services. Yes this even means "to go orders and not sit down at Burger King" which is still in effect as of today the 6th. And it also means no key money or corruption money for the government. So it all starts with the tourists and ends with the to tourists. And lastly, no vaccine, fear, travel restrictions, new travel requirements, increased travel costs (to make up for loss revenue) and reduced income means less money for travel. So yeah Pattaya and Thailand is pretty fucked. For a country that relied so much on foreign dollars, they could have handled this differently and not shift blame on foreigners or those who travel. I don't hear about flights crews who travel to different countries having to quarantine when they arrive back their home country. Eventually, you guys will realize this was all along about "control" "the haves and the have nots. " When the "haves of the world" fear, they will exert their control over "the have nots. " All about this thing called ego, power and control. Because if you look at these two pics. Ask yourself. Accommodation are taken care of separate. This money comes from outside their country. Add insult to injury, the USA pulled trade privileges with Thailand so now the Thais are really getting screwed with no Vaseline. Not sure who runs this country, but their decision making sucks. So yeah, this is over when those in power don't fear anymore. And if you think the government is all too blame for loss jobs, who do you think asked them to shut down the businesses do to lack of customers and revenue. That way is easier to blame the government rather than say you are fired because I have no money to pay you. We learned this in MBA school and in school of "life. " It's called scapegoating. A standard narrow 2/3 level townhouse shop runs you 15,000 baht a month majority of the time these massage shops are empty, not sure how they afford it even if they are living in it my standard guess was they could because most likely got a Farang sending them money each month so this is the best they can do to get out of the business. So many don't have real education nor any income to ever attempt to open a shop like this reason as soon as they nap on to a Farang you hear them say " small money " this is the same for girls opening salons.

Yep, let's keep on confusing people to why it why not they should do something. Why are standards different for different people, different places, and different things? Franchises have more strict rules but their cleanliness and sanitation is better. Food stalls are poor and dirty in those areas but more relaxed. When people eat they are allowed to sit closer than 3 meters, mouths open, chewing food, and this is a droplet contagion. Yet when they sit, masked, they are expected to sit very far apart. Makes no sense at all. The people just want to know that the government sorta knows what it is doing. For the educated, we have no confidence in governments that are continually in debt and just print paper money or make people work longer and harder to make up for the inadequacy. By the way, the Tree Town food stalls just claimed the sidewalk in front of them. No more loitering or sitting on the sidewalk or carts. Chaos.

We take for granted and think because they speak some English that they can communicate exactly like us. They are missing so many words in their vocabulary so when they throw in a word they have used in the past to describe one situation and use it in another they don't know the meaning and think it is okay But it isn't it just confusing people if they aren't used to it. As you indicated they just play when it should be using " use ".

Another example when Mr. E, was having a conversation where he was located with the girl it was as simple as the girl not having enough vocabulary to tell him exactly where she was located so she use what she knew it can be confusing and frustrating to others. If she had the bullets in words she could describe exactly where she was located. I once use a word with a Thai lady said " do you realized " she snapped got angry " realized " was to her she was in the wrong and all her fault. Once I ducked and the knife flew by I never saw her again.

No tourist means no money. Means government doesn't get money. So they will close. It's the same as why are some restaurants still closed and some are open. It's about how much business and they can make. So what closed Walking Street was the lack of customers. I was there. Walking into Palace at 11 pm to only 9 girls on stage and 4 customers was sad. Even I thought, it's time to put them out of their misery and close shop. So the business owners made a few calls to their government buddies they pay off. The staff can't get mad to the government, so take the blame for us. Send them all home and packing. Hopefully this make sense. Look who works those beaches (vendors and water sports providers and lot attendants with their chairs). All pay a kick back. People using and trashing the beach for free fucks the government up.

I have the impression that all countries copy each other. It doesn't matter if the measures are absurd or not.

France is doing very well in this area. We are told that we will deconfine from May 11 but in fact there is almost nothing that changes and what will be released will be subject to such constraints that it will be unworkable or in indescribable chaos.

In my opinion the lockdown measures are absolutely not justified in Thailand if we consider the number of cases observed and the number of deaths. Mask wearing measures with common sense hygiene measures and ease of access to tests should be sufficient.

We have gone from a phase where we had to avoid the number of serious cases so as not to overload the hospitals to a phase where we must at all costs not catch the virus until we have found a vaccine. It's just impossible and completely disproportionate to covid-19 for which 80% of patients only need doliprane and rest.

The only reasons I can think of for running the story now are to tell the Bangkok hoards not to take a trip to the seaside, or because Chonburi beaches other than Banglamung are to be opened (eg Bang Saray and Bang Saen), but this is pure speculation on my part.
