Just got gone reading the past 100 pages here, and while the past 30 are pretty corona specific, I have found out a TON of information. I thought I would share this for everyone who might want to be considering a trip there when things open up. Just FYI. I have a trip booked in Jan, and before I get the haters telling me it's high season, it's the only time I could pull away that far for a week, so willing to brave the crowds. Also, my guess is that it won't nearly be as crowded next year given Corona, and I don't' want to have moist balls all day while I'm outside, I like to save that for when they are in a girls mouth.

Maybe there is more deaths from crossing 2nd road in Pattaya each year than deaths from covid-19 in all of Thailand.

They quarantined the elderly and other at risk people, and had no social distancing for others, to try to build herd immunity. Despite being a low pop density country with great healthcare and infrastructure, they haven't fared well compared to similar countries with stricter lockdowns.

If you believe that, I have some oceanfront property in Dijon, France I can sell you at a cheap price. I personally know of 2 people in Buriram that died. One was a lifelong, dear friend in his early 60's with no known underlying medical issues. At the time of his death the governor of Buriram was reporting zero cases in a news article. Obvious lies as my friend's wife was also in the hospital with C19 as well (she survived).

I agree we need to keep the at risk population at home and start to open businesses back up. We can't keep the World shut forever. I do have a concern about younger people going back to work and spreading it to their elders. And I miss my grandchildren.

But I will say there is value in engaging in some form of the bargaining process even if you don't get a 50% discount, if you only get a 20% discount and even if you get no discount at all from their initial asking price.

For one, it conveys the message to the girl that the money and what you get for it matters to you.

And for another, you might agree to pay her asking price (if she will not budge from it) but only if you get this and that in the room, things that are really important to you but are not typically on the regular menu.

That is bargaining/negotiating for better "assured" and agreed upon service rather than for a lower price. Often MUCH better service.

I am a big fan of that form of bargaining, particularly when a 500 baht difference either way is relatively meaningless. Hell, 1,000 baht difference is often meaningless to me if it is the difference between getting exactly what I want from this exact girl I want or walking away to continue shopping and spending on drinks (if only for myself) and other shit along the way.

IMO, there is real value in making the effort to bargain for at least those two reasons.
