Re: Only the insecure feel the need to 'Over Pay'
Very true. Most Thai girls are not as mercenary as some try to make out they are. They would rather have a "nice time" with a "nice person" and get 1500 Baht tip, than have to endure a grizzly bear for 2 hours and get 2500 baht tip. Those who over pay are generally very insecure people who feel the need to pay extra. They can attempt to hide it in kindness or whatever other sweet wrapping they may want, but it all boils down to insecurity and the need for attention.
Very well said; the only exception I disagree with is the "and get 1500 Baht tip" part because in my book it is not a "tip"; it is a 'Fee' that an independent contractor is charging me for what she believes or has been told to believe is the "fee" she should charge for her service. How many of you folks have ever bought a car and were treated very well by the sales person? (I know that is a stretch) but did you give the sales person a tip? Do you tip the sales lady at Watson's or Boots? Do you tip the the frigging security guards who have a whistle glued to their lips because they work hard blowing their whistles and just broke your ear drum? Look I am a retired professional and I have always charged what I thought my service was worth and believe me it was a lot more than others in the same profession. My thing was providing 'Quality and Service' with a '100% money back no questions asked guarantee forever'.My business grew over time from satisfied customers and not one customer ever offered me nor gave me a tip.So it is worthwhile to read this again from the above poster:
Those who over pay are generally very insecure people who feel the need to pay extra.
