Non-mongering observations:

Most Brazilians tap debit cards now, so you need to carry less cash. (I tried to buy some cough drops at the So Paulo airport with cash, and they looked at me like a wanted to hand them a dead fish.).

Uber is cheaper than taxis. Galeo airport has a dedicated Uber pickup area, with color-coded pickup zones.

I stayed at the Pestana and liked it better than last time. Downside: it's a bit of a hike from the subway.

My favorite juice bar is Big Bi on Siquera Campos.

There were many Pratos Executivos for as low as are $25 at the beach restaurants, which is like US $5. A steak skewer on the promenade cost me are $13, though.
