Visited Bangla road and really didn't like it: the girls in the bars seemed really bored, no fun interactions, no atmosphere. Gogo's were fun but I couldn't take out the sexy ones. Funny thing was plenty of middle aged couples visit these gogo's, including ugly Russians. How frustrated the guys must be when leaving to their hotel with their overweight and unattractive wives. Hollywood disco too loud. I was starting to miss Bangkok. Went to Malibu bar in Kamala and met a very interesting girl. Alas she wouldn't go out. That time of the month? Next stop was a row of bar / massage places with room for quick boom-boom in Bang Thao (second row street behind the beach) Local expats playing You Tube songs and drinking beer. A cute new (2 months) Isaan girl accepted only on the second night to come to my hotel. She said it was the first time in a hotel! No DFK, no BJ but great sex.

I am headed to Phuket in 2 weeks and renting a sailboat for a few days. My friend has had to cancel, so I was thinking of getting a girl to join me for a few days of fun, but leaves me with no time to really shop around and try before taking her for 3 days. She also needs to be able to swim and OK to go on a boat. I was considering using Katherines (pricey I know but could email and book in advance). Any suggestions or other options? Has anyone used rubyphuket. Com before? Or should I just hit the bars and try to pick the best I can? I am OK with paying a little more to book in advance if I feel it has a higher chance of success for this situation.

If anyone had a recommendation and contact info for a girl who would fit the bill that I could arrange in advance that would be great. But I fully understand if you don't want to share with a first time poster.

I suggest you barhop around Bangla, meet the girls at night, concentrate on having a good time punting, don't think about sailing invitations, just shag them. Heading to Patong Beach in December. Have an apartment on the north end off of Phra Barami Road and Rat-U-Thit. Recently read that the Tuk-Tuks are a ripoff and no Bhat Buses in the evening. Curious to know how far a walk it is from the north end down into Bangla Road? Also if anyone can share the most economical means of getting around short of renting a moto. Too dangerous for me to consider that option, but do not want to pay $5-6 each way if I can avoid it. If the walk is 10 min, no problem. But am unable to figure out how far it is from my apartment to the entertainment area. Am surprised that there are not Bhat Busses that run the circuit. Everywhere else I have been in Thailand, they have been the most economical form of transportation. Des not seem to be the case on Patong. Appreciate any advice or link to quality information that will help educate me.

There is no way of getting around economically, short of renting a motorbike, period.

Bhat Buses have always been economical everywhere else I have been in Thailand. Motorbikes are just too dangerous to rent. I have done that before and have had nothing but problems; mostly upon return with mythical damages. Any Idea how long it takes to walk about half the length (North to South) as Bangla Road is just short of mid-way from my apartment.

Never used it before.

The problem is I am renting an apartment from a private party, not a hotel. Do not believe they have that. Will just have to deal with it. Thanks for the google navigator app idea.

Looks like about 1. 5 miles which will take me only 15-20 minutes. So I will probably just walk down at night and then pay the highway robbery to get back to the apartment with my "new" friend. LOL Pretty cheap to rent a car, but what about parking once you get down there? Able to share where you got a rental so cheap where they did not insist on keeping your Passport? I HATE that and avoid renting for that reason alone.

I've also rented a car and parked pretty much anywhere, there is a parking lot adjacent to Bangla to which you walk back taking a funny shortcut that brings you straight to Hollywood's stairs, that is where one wants to be anyway. To rent a bike from an honest shop take the road where the firefighters are, it makes is a left sharp corner and then opens widely by the canal. Rental shop is next to a welding / mufflers shop and there are more around.
