Here on the "building side of the avenida" locals are usually taking a stroll or taking the dog out or just simply transporting themselfs from 1 place to another. Occasionally, you will find a lost soul and therefore, just stay alert. Posto 2 1/2, 3 and 4 1/2 is where you are on full "EN GARD".
The troubled areas of the beach-side of Copa goes simultaniously with the locations of the metro stations.
"The rats"or the lost souls are usuall between posto 2 and 3, corresponding cardeal arcovado and siquera campos and posto 6 and 7, corresponding general osorio and cantagalo.
Their strategy is group-wise attacking from general osorio towards cantagalo. If they get in trouble they either use the metro as a decoy or, if it is an amateur, actually use the metro. Same goes for between posto 2 and 3.
Look out for Bikes and the combination shorts / t-shirt / flip-flop (or bare-foot). Don't immediately panick, just stay alert. Locals will usually attire themselves differently then "The Rats".
