FKK Sharks - Darmstadt

So the S-bahns were certainly affected. No problem getting to Sharks as the VIA trains that go to Darmstadt Nord within walking distance to Sharks were not on strike.

I have two more questions. (1) When the passengers arrive at FRA, they must take S8 or S9 to Frankfurt downtown area. Are S8 and S9 affected? (2) I am sure that Ubahn are not affected. Is U4 running again? Last year U4 did not run for a few months.

It will either say trip(s) or part there off are cancelled in advance or are still running. Last I checked during the recent train strike on 7 & 8 March, there were a very limited skeleton Regional and S-Bahn services running and the non-DB trains (VIA, HLB, RRX, National Express, etc), U-bahn and busses were 100% running on schedule.

Is the bar service still as bad as usual? Waiting ages to get served.

Last time the beer was disgusting and was nothing on draught and the service was extremely slow & rude.

I just planned my first trip to Frankfurt. Flying in 4/2 and flying out 4/12.10 days is probably a lot. So a couple of questions (appreciate all the info on here that I already read through):

1) Any hotel recommendations that are convenient to get to Oase and Sharks (going to try to stay at Marriott brands if possible given status). I understand there are some train strikes going on.

2) Do you recommend I find a day or two and take the 8 hour train ride (or fly) to Austria for well cum? Or better to check out Berlin and Artemis?

3) I prefer to do some exploring in the AM and afternoon. I am thinking showing up at FKKs around 4 pm and staying through maybe 8 or 10. How safe is it coming back during late hours?

4) I understand you can use credit card for the entry fees but cash only for the sessions. If I am planning for maybe 2-3 sessions max. I imagine taking $500 will be more than enough?

5) Do most FKKs have robes you can wear or is it towels only. I have a few tattoos that I prefer to not walk around showcasing. Nothing inappropriate LOL.

6) Is there any racist or stereotypes I should be aware of? I am of Indian origin but raised in the USA Since I was 7.

They are on strike again tomorrow, and their leader promises 'waves of strikes' until DB capitulates and agrees to reduction to 35-hour week, plus large increase in pay.

U4 is running, although I did not take it.

When strike is on, you will need to take a taxi to get to Frankfurt.
If you are going to Sharks, there is the direct Airliner bus to Darmstadt.

Once I reach Hauptwich, I can take U4 to where I want to go. I will not go to Sharks with my luggages but I can consider to take Airline bus to Damstadt then take VIA train to Frankfurt.

Do the math. Tip: Most guys spend more than planned. Cash is king. Extra fees for the use of credit cards.

However the Airliner stops at the main Darmstadt rail station. To get from there to Darmstadt Nord, you will need to take a taxi costing about 14-15 euros, or struggle with your luggage on a city bus. Furthermore the VIA train is not very frequent, normally every 2 hours.

Also, are you sure your stop is really called Hauptwich? Closest name I can think of is Hauptwache, but the U4 does not stop there.

On all those days, the majority of the girls arrived between 4 pm and 6 pm, although a few still continue to stream in after 6pm.

I witnessed an amusing situation at the reception last week. Sylvana was trying to get a customer to pay up. I think (I might have misheard part of it) the customer was saying that he had not enough cash, and the machine does not accept his credit card. Receptionists had to mediate. Not sure how it was finally solved.

For Sharks, the better hotels near the train station are Holiday Inn Express, Intercity, and Maritim. Maritim has a swimming pool.

2. Lufthansa has been striking now and then too. Last week and this week. Last week, they coordinated the Lufthansa and Deutsche Bahn strikes to happen on roughly the same days. So you might be screwed whichever mode travel you choose.
