BTW, AW your advice on not to take the girls out too late is right on, one which so many here make a mistake on. Girls live with their parents and usually must be home by 10 PM, so have dinner early and leave 2 hours for back at your place and 30 mins for them to get home. So suggest 6:30 PM or so for dinner. Of course, for Hoars this does not apply, they stay out late.

Hmm it depends on where you want to stay, I would say that anything under 3 stars are usually gf. Just ask first.
Yes there is girls who can speak english in Vietnam, my sugestion is that you actually have a conversation with them to find out.

Well coming over for a few weeks, and I must say after reading a few pages to say the least. Vietnam seems pretty pricey when it comes to ladies. I have to tell you, from the guys who are paying more than $30-$60 LT, which I Consider until the next morning breakfast time. You guys are spoiling the market. In Thailand anything can pretty much be had from around 700bht up. LT 1, 000-2000 bht freelance (That's $30-60) , and even in some non freelance bars. I read back a bunch of pages and most seem to be paying way above this. Question, Vietnam is still a 3rd world country yes, where a meal can still be had for around $1 & Up correct. Then you vet / expat please do enlighten me!
I am thinking my 1st few days in I will play the, freelance market.

You have looked at the map and seen they are both countries in SE Asia, you have examined their relative economic states and seen that Thailand is by far the wealthier and more developed nation. Your careful research has led you to the conclusion that there is much cheaper sex readily available in Vietnam than that which has been written about by the 'vets' and 'expats' here.
You will come here and find the many 'freelancer bars', the massage parlors where sex is available, the karaokes where sex is available, maybe you will find the beer bars and beer gardens where girls are available, the soapy massage places of HCMC, the fishbowls of Vietnam where you can choose the most beautiful women of SE Asia for some of the lowest prices in the world, comparable to eating a meal for only $1.
I hope you will prepare some excellent and detailed reports and maps for us to enjoy the wealth of knowledge you will gain while you are here, to point out to us 'vets' all that we have have been missing, to show us what has been right under our noses all along. We will thank you for that!

Re-book to Philippines or Thailand if you're making a mongering trip.
I find Vietnam to be the least attractive country of the three for the hobby. Our resident maven, JD, seems to do alright but I believe he's been here awhile.
As for me, I'm looking to move on because of the sterility of the scene.

For the prices, Vietnam is ultra cheap. You can *reliably and repeatably* get a BJ from a 20-something decent looker in a HotToc for $7. 50-$10 (150-200k dong) , and even FS for $15-20 (300-400k dong). Service will be crappy 4/5 times, but that's a different story.
Vietnamese women are just not cut out to be friendly and giving SWs like Thais or Filipinas.
Several times, I had Thai ST girls in Pattaya genuinely concerned I couldn't come (my 4th darling of the day!) , even after I told them all is well and they earned their 500 baht. They took it personally and worked on it diligently until result was obtained. Thais in general have a highly developed social sense and make an effort to make everyone feel good (especially those they perceive higher in the pecking order, usually the one holding more baht). This holds in a direct social or interpersonal situations, even though Thais are completely irresponsible and reckless otherwise.
Vietnamese are generally selfish and always just after your money (unless you're family or a close friend). They have zero respect for anyone outside their very narrow circle, and don't make much of an effort to pretend otherwise. Everyone, from security guards to bus conductors wants to show their control over you, and would try to order you around just to make themselves feel better. Sex workers generally try to do the least service they can possibly get away with. If you're frustrated and unsatisfied, that not only doesn't bother them the least, it may well amuse them.
TL; DR: In Vietnam, you may get super-low prices and decent looks (with some local knowledge and a bit of searching). However. 4/5 times service would be crappy, while in Thailand. 4/5 times it's better than that 1 non-crappy time in Vietnam.

I won't even bother with a report as it had the usual attendant hovering over me, He even tried telling me how much to pay the girl, Time for the masssage and its light rubbing with oil, a shitload of slapping / pounding on my back and shoulders with only a few seconds of walking on legs and back. I am Vietnamese but I grew up in America since I was a baby so when I speak Viet I pretty much sound like a white guy trying to speak it. Everytime I go purchase something one of my relatives or friends always tell them to let them do the talking, if I do the talking I will almost always get a higher bill then it should be, plus most of the time you can barter down the prices.
As for the quality of services, I'm on my 2nd trip to Vietnam this year, and in about 5 monger visits I only had 1 I thought was outstanding services, so I guess the 1 in 5 stat Crocodilexp put out was about spot on. And that 1 ended up costing an arm and a leg for Vietnam, after the hotel, taxis, barfine and girl.
If you can speak some Viet, and are younger looking I would suggest going with the freelance route, I have had no problem getting number of attractive young chicks. I don't think Viet girls here go for money as much as some of the other 3rd world asian countries, I've hardly seen ANY hot young girl with an older white guy here, only older chicks.

Not 100% for sure, you will see some, but it's not like Thailand or the PI. But if it's in his home or hotel, there is no shame. They don't care so much what they do or who they are with, it's that they care about what others see and think of them. For guys in their 50's, it's important to be fairly slim and to dress well, girls will be ok with you then. But forget about big and fat and hairy with shorts and a singlet and sandals. No Sukhumvit Road style is acceptable here.
