I'd say if you had to weather the street traffic it would be terrible, but BTS is pretty efficient if you prefer to stay by the river, which is nice for other reasons.

Annies is about a 10 minute walk from the Nana BTS station and about a 5 minute walk from J W Marriott.Nana Entertainment Plaza is about a 7 minute walk from the Nana BTS station and Soi Cowboy is about a 5 minute walk from the Asok BTS station. If you want to be close to the action, J W Marriott is probably your best bet (if you can afford it). There are also numerous less expensive hotels between Nana BTS and Asok BTS.GG
