Pattaya, Bui Vien, and AC Walking Streets are great for laundering money, cash cows for corruption, for both foreign and local dollars. It's a good time to start recruiting some extra $$$ since downturn because of COVID-19. Time to recruit some newbies and steal some more people's money into those clubs that are dying or you see that pop up and disappear in a few weeks. Shit happens all the time. Just ask many of these "foreign" partners of bars and businesses who have been scammed. Ask them about their hopes and dreams of keeping alive something they really enjoyed. Great tactic, works like a charm every time. Can you imagine if the owner of Thermae, who is actually very nice and not crooked, spread a rumor about it's closure in order to get some poor saps to invest in the place? Bring them in, make them love it, and then threaten to take it away. What's that called?
