I am new to Abu Dhabi, only here for six weeks then back to NYC where I know all the rules / good places.

Looking for the allusive AMP or RMP, Had a massage at the Cristal. The message was great but no extras and a bit pricy. Then on the recommendation of this board I tried Zen spa. Great massage and a great price but again no extra where offered. I walked around looking for the place behind the KIA showroom but could not find it. Someone said that there was another AMP behind the NMC by Madinat Zayed shopping center (very close to my hotel) but I could not find that one either.

Any and all help would be appreciated. I am trying to activate a subscription but the shopping cart is not cooperating.

Last week a group of us went to the Emirate Plaza which was interesting but not quite what I was looking for.

Last night I want to Blitz and that was a bit of a trip, great little ego boost but the selection is limited so after the main group went back to the hotel two of us went looking for some of the places that you guys have recommended. First Ally Pally 12:30 on a Friday. It was packed but I didn't see many American or Expats and it was feeling a little unfriendly so we went around the corner to I believe it was called PJ's. 1st floor entrance, only couples and sports guys at that one so we got out of there fast and went to Illusions. 150 dh cover including two drinks but given that we where pretty tipsy by that point we didn't see the need, but the place looked packed and we will try it one night soon. The two of us decided to follow the music to the third floor and into a piano bar with a room filled with Emirate men and a few women in Abaya. The music was great so we stayed for a beer, then a belly dancer came out. Lots of fun, but I have no idea if they where WG's there or not or even how to approach them.

I am still in a bit of culture shock. Trying to figure out the rules to this place.

Seems we are drilling the same hole. However my impression is that I got better rates. But her performance and personality is worthy to be no penny pincher.

Make sure that there is sufficient time between our visits to give Lucy's holes some time to narrow again.

During my first week in AD and before finding this forum I decided to take the plunge and try a "AMP" that I had found listed online.

They seem to go by many names and several numbers but they all take you to the same place near Electra and Salam. Decided that this was all I could find I decided to give it a try. Got to the location and called to come up, got the floor / Apt # but the door man was adamant about not allowing me up so I left and just as I was turning out of the building the phone lady called me back and said that she would be right down. She came out and she is not a bad looker, a little older, perhaps late 30's but I have sound that age to be the better provider so I thought what the hell, she has me follow her to another building just across Electra and directs me to the 6th floor. Things are starting to look a little shady but the little head is doing the thinking, so again I say what the hell.

From the website I had the impression that the selection was decent and I had requested a specific girl from the line up but it ended up being plain old bait and switch. Get up to the six floor and I am let into what appears to be a apt with three bedroom and a curtained off area where the girls are all waiting. I get lead into a spartan room by a not so attractive Asian lady. At that point I realize that she is my 'date' and I ask if there are any other choices, I hate when they do that to you, much better to see the girls and choice. Cleaned up, showered and left feeling a little bit chumped on the deal then I think about the conversion rate and I think that I got off ok if over sold not the best of goods.

So I tried again at the mentioned place, given that the first time around the massage was first class and the price was right. Well I had a Chinese lady 30-40 this time, she was short and not a looker at all but not a total horror show. The massage this time was not as good as the first but there was some lead up early on and on the flip after working my legs for a while I got a poke and a 'massage here to? ' shook my head in the positive and was treated to a very nice, slowly building, happy end. The lack of any real privacy, they have curtain not doors is a little unnerving but not a full deterrent. Not to mention that there is something exciting about having to keep quite. House 140, tip 100 it was received well.

So far I have had a great massage at the Cristal Hotel, strictly legit but really good technique. Day time cost 240 +tip.

I have tried Zen at the Regency during the day, great message, perhaps the best deep tissue massage I have ever had and after two trips I can say YMMV. Cost 140 +tip.

I have heard exceptional things from a co-worker about the massages at Stop Relax near Madinat Zayed Shopping Center, again totally Legit and men will give you the massage (that is why I won't go, call me old fashioned) but my friend says that the Turkish Massage is out of this world.

This is a late post but I just wanted to share the info.

I had received a tip in regards to Sands Hotel providing a happy service in their massage area but when I dropped in it wasn't the case.

For non-hotel guests the damage was around 230+AED. I chose the Thai Massage as I was a bit hesitant and worried I wouldn't be receiving a tug, thus could get a nice strong massage out of it. Sadly to say, it was the case. The massage was decent and I had to tell the girl (32 yrs old, Thai lady) to apply more pressure as the minutes trickled (guess she was getting tired) , and in the end there was no hint at a happy ending. So I just dressed up and tipped her 50AED for her hard work, and walked out. The little guy wasn't pleased, but my body did feel good from getting a massage.

Hopefully I'll be able to venture out more and provide some good feedback. Thanks to those for providing intel on areas I could visit and possible happy points. If I get lucky and find a gem spot I'll be sure to PM and share the wealth.
