You never see so many problems in other monger locations.[/QUOTE]IMO it's not important to know how often does this really happen, the key is it happens often ENOUGH, and the potential is always there. Thats why mongers really should be careful in their dealings. I learned this coming to Sosua enough years, and having lived here enough years.

All a guy has to do is spend time talking to mongers and hear their stories and examples. About guys getting hemmed up by the police over a conflict with a chica that could have been resolved by cutting ones losses. Guys standing their ground with a chica being wrong, and end up paying much more than if they would have just settled it before the police got involved.

And that's only for simple disputes. It can get much worse if a chica starts lying on you. Like claim you never paid her. Claim you assaulted her. She can injure herself and tell the cops that you are responsible for it. Once that happens, aint nobody focused on the mongers concerns. Everything now is focused on what she reports you did or didn't do. We have to take into consideration the potential agenda the police may have in taking their turn in milking a cash cow themselves.

However disputes with lying ass, drama queen, flip the script chicas who call the police may be a whole different animal. The police are not coming there to be fair. And they certainly arent coming there to look out for a monger to help him prevail. In enough cases they may just take everybody to jail to sort the matter out. And that's where a chica may tell some lies you may not know about. So she can go home, and you get to spend time locked up. Thinking about how you wish you paid the chica that 3000 pesos, because this shit aint worth it. True true true. It's not like this is something that happens with every transaction in Sosua. It's just a reality that has happened often enough , that mongers need to think very carefully about the potential consequences if things go sideways.

All of those things can be dealt with to reduce ones risk.

1) don't pay chicas upfront.

2) If some guy has a Patreon page, you arent obligated to send money.

3) don't do weed / drugs or get caught with weed / drugs. Reduce and / or eliminate contact with people who can potentially get you into trouble.

4) Know the potential risks of other goings on where you monger.

5) Accept the fact that there will always be others who choose to do things their way. And accept that we can't change the world and people we live with. But one can adapt. And we can sit on the sidelines shaking our heads at what we see.

All that happens anywhere is representative of individuals who happen to be in a certain place. That doesn't mean, that is the totality of that place. Why do I say this? SHIT HAPPENS. We can dig up dirt on individuals and happenings in Boca Chica, Santo Domingo or anywhere else in the DR. But none of that is representative of the people places and things overall. Nor can we assume a common denominator. There is a reason why we have expressed here the phrase. YMMD. Your mileage may differ. Not everybody will experience the same thing.

So which position should a person take? The glass half empty approach or the glass half full approach? I guess it depends on the individual to decide for themselves. ? All of the mongering places have seen changes for the good or bad, Sosua was never an exception. With all the shit that goes on in SD or BC and online / social media, why does Sosua get hyped just because it has evolved no different than other mongering places in the DR?

Scam for scam, dirt for dirt. Everything that happens in Sosua can be matched in other mongering places in the DR. And these places still draw the same people. From scum to angels and everything in between.

Some guys can't get laid by one of the hundreds of legal hookers, without drama, cops and hotel services staff involved. They give mongers a bad name.

I have been visiting and living in Sosua over the last 10 years, and have had no personal interaction with cops or thieving hookers. Nada! Never been ripped off or had my shit taken.

Just once I grabbed a strange hooker off the street, and she gave me some of the best sex I ever had. And I made the mistake of telling her so. She didn't want to leave without a propina. I faked a call to hotel security, called her bluff and in 15 minutes she was out of there with an extra 400 pesos. It was actually worth it!

We got the usual suspects here, with the usual complaints, who have never understood that THEIR mileage, DOES vary, apparently consistently. They should move on, and get away from all the problems they consistently have. WTF? Why do they put up with this shit for years?

Sosua will survive these disgruntled ne'er do wells. As long as it has great beaches, great restaurants and literally hundreds of hookers to choose from.

But, you have to choose wisely! Or, maybe find a wingman who knows his way around! Or, stick to BB! But some guys complain about BBs too!

Those men may not be on ISG. Those of us who are on ISG, may not be privy to those situations or stories that turned out okay. And not just about chicas asking for money upfront. But many issues. So once again. Do we use the glass half empty or half full approach when deciding on the overall nature of the game in Sosua and trying to pigeonhole Sosua based on select negative reports and warnings only?

Many are not from Sosua. So that fucked up behavior is not a common denominator of Sosua. It's about certain fucked up chicas coming from everywhere in the DR to be themselves in Sosua. I think because Sosua is so small, law enforcement has more time on their hands to get involved with petty bullshit, than lets say places like BC or SD. And the chicas recognize that. In those other places police can detain you on the street and campaign to rip you off without a chica helping the situation.

And lets talk about the police. The tourist police they are the ones locking chicas up. The chicas don't want any parts of those police. It's the police nacionals that they have no fear of, and who they call. Moreover, if it's a haitiana chica they don't want any parts of any police. I wonder? What happens if a monger was cool with a Cestur (tourist) officer / superviser, who happened to be on duty. Could he call him for assistance? I don't know for sure, but it's something to think about.

You recall we discussed the possible reason for less quality chicas in Sosua? We came up with the idea that many are using social media now. So I figure, that's exactly what mongers can do too. But guess what? Enough mongers are already doing that. Dominican Cupid, Tagged, Badoo, Tinder, FB etc And they are still coming to Sosua and rolling the dice. So mongers that have left may not realize, that enough mongers have evolved in how they operate in Sosua too. There is always going to exist a certain level of victims that get got. Thats just the way it is.

Meanwhile more and more mongers that I talked to have secured and rely on their regulars moreso than the chicas in street. And with that they can sample something different without relying on one source.

I know two guys that each hired the same chica that did that to them. Ironically I almost took that same chica back to my spot. But I aborted before we went anywhere together, and told her I changed my mind. I found out later that she was the same chica the other guys dealt with.

I shared that story here on ISG a while back. About how I saw the chica a couple of times (once on the beach and another place) but didn't pull the trigger. And finally I met her somewhere, and through interacting with her decided to leave her alone. So, if I would have taken her back to my spot, she would have done the same thing to me (asked to be paid upfront). I avoided that problem without knowing the potential was there with her. Now a couple smartalecks on here made a big deal when I shared that trip report, because I took my time before finally connecting with this chick. In that moment I did something that ended up being a positive. Smart aleck individuals don't acknowledge shit like that. But once again, complaining about them does nothing. You just adapt to what you have to deal with. And thats how one should handle themselves in Sosua or elsewhere.

So, after reading about the chica horror stories in Sosua (extorting fellow mongers and threatening police intervention despite poor quality / no services provided being the most alarming), I am more than a bit hesitant to make my trek down to Sosua as a newbie monger. Are chicas in other DR cities also this shady and likely to pull off extortionate scams? Would Santo Domingo be a safer place to monger? Or is it a DR thing to have chicas practicing these alarming tactics? I thought the chica scams were confined to fairly "harmless" (obviously not something anyone would like to be victim to) upselling, but hearing about potential policia involvement is terrifying.

The vast majority of guys who come to Sosua have the time of their life. Yes there are soe bad apples but the vast majority of girls are as advertised. I go to Sosua at least 5 or 6 times a year and love ever day of t.

I have been going to Sosua more than 20 years at least twice a year. Never ever encountered any threats from chicas. Every time girls honored agreed price and never threw a runner or tantrum about service. Granted, times have changed and supply have turned shade uglier but never had problems.

Not sure what monger did or did not do to get threatened.

Some mongers may have more expectations regarding service, stay time etc. But never force anybody just because you expect it and gave her money. Girls are not in love with you, consequently do not expect them to tolerate or give you a slack like a girlfriend does. Sometimes you need to learn to let go and cut your losses. Owning her ass for couple of hours just because you paid does not gel these days.

Go to another country, behave, treat everybody including the girls with respect, have fun and get out of the country without issues.
