Are you saying that the Motel owners are being asked to only rent rooms to persons with Cedulas. So this means a foreigner with a Passport cannot rent a room, or only if overnight?

Sounds a bit extreme if that is what is happening.

Perhaps JB2 can shed a little more light on the situation as posed by my questions in an earlier post.

That is the deal basically. Neighborhood and business leaders have been speaking out against rising crime in Laureles in the media the past few years. They recently began zeroing in on the huge increase in motels around Laureles. The theme of the editorials is pretty similar to the blowback against the Lleras scene. The motels are seen as both symptoms and causes of increased sex tourism, drug trade, noise and general family unfriendliness. The cedula crackdown is a tactic to rein in what's viewed as uncontrolled honky tonk expansion in what has traditionally been a quiet residential area, except for the foreigner infested la 70/ Avenida Nutibara axis of course. I don't think even the most reactionary conservative puritan imagines there is a way to turn the tide in Centro. The thought of one of the short time places around Veracruz turning somebody away for lack of a Colombian cedula, or even asking for any ID to begin with makes me smile.

Avenida Nutibara will have a few more foreigners because it goes through the first and second parks area. LA 70 is a playground for the locals.

I am a Centro rat. To me it seems like a lot of foreigners.

Also, got turned away by a few motels in el Centro with my Venezolana, because she only had a Venezuelan Cedula.

Apparently answering your questions and posting photos of the flyer that is being handed out at Motel Ibiza violates some obscure site rule, because the post has either been blocked by one of the admins, or abducted by aliens.

2 Love Motels in Laureles specified that every person is required to have a Colombian cedula in order to rent a room from them. They weren't interested in my passport. They were also rather rude by Colombian standards.

My opinion is that this is part of a push back against sex tourism.

But JJBee4 posted that they would not rent a room to him. Is it the chicas ID that is causing the problem or is it the American passport? Is policy being enforced arbitrarily?

I do peek in Yakuza which is sort of a Casa but always take the girl across the street to my hotel.
