Have left Korea now, but always had luck in Mairi. Left the Gireum station, can't remember the station number, go to the second curtain that they use to hide the district. Go in and the the 4th shop on you right always had nice, hot girls, even during the day. If you shop around you can find some good one during the day, and they are very receptive to foreigners.

it is rather difficult to describe. As you said my favourite place it isnot in the first shops after entrance from subway exit 10.
After the first 'open curtain row' you come to a 'crossing', where usually some mama-sans gather for chatting. One way goes alongside the mainroad (with traffiic) behind the wall, where all the foodstands are. It is not in this row (but I had also good experience in some shops there). It is the second or 3rd (sometimes there ar 3 'parallel' walkways), somwhere in the middle of the long way.

Well it has been 6 years since my last trip to Seoul and things have really changed. I went to Miari last night. Got off on the wrong foot by gettting ripped by the taxi driver (what a shock)! 26.5K from my hotel (COEX district) to Miari. It only cost 14.5K coming back.
The place was dead. No shops with windows open. I was stopped by a couple of mamasans and they would get you all the way in the shop before you could see the goods. Following the great reports of the past, I had a happy three days in Seoul just now.
First day a massage with happy ending in the Gangnam area. This is next to the Hotel Grand Intercontinental, South of the River. Expensive to reach by Taxi if you stay north of the River, but easy to get to by taking the Metro. Buy the Metro pass and do like the locals do. Much faster and 800 won per ride (80cents).

To bad Paul. Don't worry in Miari, nobody will rob you.
But I admitt, for a first time visitor the scenery can look scary, especially if it rains and you are early (early= before 21:00h).
By the way, I always take the 1st curtain, right after Exit 10. The jewlerrys are well hidden behind closed curtains and you have to deal with the mamasans who sometimes rather active try to convince you.

Take yor time! There is some risk that the girls figure under her 'wedding dress' appears less attractive when unwrapped. Take a girl which is able to smile at you. But after some time your judgement skills get better and as well your dealing with the mama-sans.

Hey boys,

Just a thought: All this rain is actually a motivational factor and a comfortable

This weekend I wanted to try something different. I said, why not somehow explore the spots in my neighbourhood. My apartment is close to the Cheonggyecheonno river and also close to Insa dong the famous antique street in Seoul. Nice place by the way and lots of action (this time ‘non mongering type of action’).

I’m sure that there are exceptions. . But I think that the following story is a good example of the attitude of most business owners in Korea.

Few days ago, I went to a BBS located in the ChungDam area. The "owner". Maybe a early 40’s lady sat next to a 20 something year old "kid". If any of you are caught in a similar situation, just try to stay calm and "work" with the owner. Business owners in Korea are very proud people and very few of them will ever cheat anybody. Losing "face" as an owner is big issue here. They will do what they can to help resolve any issues. At least that has been my experience.
