Yep we see a couple of pairs of the many saggy jobs available in the York!!

News of Hooters opening in Dubai has caused popular outcry among residents.

Plans to open a branch of Hooters in Dubai have been thrown into doubt after a government official said that the US restaurant chain may violate local laws.

Hooters, renowned for its scantily clad waitresses, was preparing to open its first of three outlets in the emirate before the end of the year, but news of its arrival has caused popular outcry among residents, with newspapers and websites inundated with letters opposing the move.

Now an official from the Department of Economic Development (DED) has said Hooters has yet to be registered with the department, and is unlikely to be allowed due to the waitresses’ famous uniforms, which consist of tight, revealing singlets and hotpants.

DED deputy director-general for executive affairs Ali Ebrahim said local laws forbid restaurants in violation of “religion, traditions and culture”, local media reported on Wednesday.

Ebrahim said the DED would closely monitor the situation.

Me and my GF are coming to Dubai in july. we are planing to book a double room at any of the 5 stars. naturally we are not legally married. Is it going to be a problem to stay in one room being in a muslim country. I hope they are not going to ask marriage certificate or any legal document at the check in and make a scene. Any help?

Will be visiting Dubai shortly. I am just struggling with the locations. Here is what I have determined, if anyone can assist by confirming or correcting.

'Rattlesnake' is in Metropolitan Hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road

'Seaview' is Seaview Hotel on Al Meena Road

'York' is York Hotel on Kahled Bin Waleed St, Dubai 11449

Is Broadway a hotel and if so where?

Will local taxi drivers know these hotels by name?

If you booked double room there is no any problem in dubai in any hotel if you check in together.

One document of particular use will be the Dubai Monger Matrix created by Spelman. It’s mentioned in the ROD thread but for your quick reference the link is here:

Along the same vein, someone actually posted maps of these various hunting grounds, in case you don't know how to use coordinates ;-)
