FKK the brazilians. They are illiterate, effectively, on a global basis. If the recent currency collapse is not enough of a punctuation, I don't know what is. - In Belize and Guyana English is the official language.
- In Puerto Rico: same.
- In Colombia's San Andres: same.
- In Costa Rica: many English speakers.
- In Honduras along the coast: many speakers.
- In Mexico's Tijuana and Yucatan (from Cancun to Tulum): same.
Maybe I've missed some areas, but you've got an idea.
Language skills in sex partners or just friends is a huge deal.
It is possible to find English speaking hot women, but some of that knowledge is confidential.

They had portoguese and english closed captioning projected above the stage.

I have been seeing posts and hearing from a number of friends that they are not getting fair exchange rates from the cambios in Copa. Well, I have 2 presents for the board that should help us get a fair exchange for our US dollars. (Works for Euros too).
1) Best Cambio in Copa - Universo Cambio on Av. Nossa Sra. De Copacabana, 371. Without question, they give the best rates out of all the cambios that I have been to. I have been exchanging my money there for the past 4 years and they always beat everyone else.
2) Make friends with someone who works at a travel agency, preferably one that has a cambio inside the travel agency. I met a guy on my last year who exchanged reais for dollars for his brazilian clients. (Truth be told, Brazilians get absolutely bent over when purchasing Dollars for their trips to America!! Royally Fucking Screwed!) Outside of work, he hooks up Brazilians with great rates on the dollar and gringos with great rates on the Real. He got me much better rates than any cambio I had ever been to, plus, the brasilians got great rates on the dollar. "Win Win for everyone!
Side Note: Please don't send me any private messages asking to be introduced to the connection. He does this without his boss knowing and he absolutely won't do it for a stranger. The only reason why he exchanges money for me is because I have been dating his cousin for the past 2 years. It shouldn't be too difficult to establish a connection with someone who works at a travel agency, especially if you speak Portuguese.

I was looking around for an exchange shop, and I noticed a line at Universo. Which told me they had the best rates.
The rate was 5. 85, on a day when the XE Currency rate was 6. 03, so it wasn't bad.

I used to get the best rates at Casa Behar on Av Rio Branco in Centro, but I stopped going there when an old lady offered bad rates. I'm not sure if Casa Behar is still working. Another good cambio in Centro is PM Turismo, also on Av Rio Branco.
The last years I've preferred to change my cash in Copacabana. Usually I first check the rates at PM Turismo website: [URL]http://www.pmturismo.com.br/[/URL].
That way I get an idea about what rate I can at least expect. Usually I go to Rua Xavier the Silveira. There are three cambios, or actually two as I wouldn't count Bob. Samtour and another one next to Kopenhagen chocolate shop. Around the corner on Av NS Copacabana there is another good one, Habitalar.
Normally I visit all three of these. First I ask to speak with the owner. Then I tell him how much I want to change. Neat 500 euro bills get the best rate. Then I negotiate the rate with the owner until I get the best rate.
However, if you have large amount of cash and wants to get the maximum rate you should use a doleiro. He will send a big guy to your place carrying a plastic bag full of cash. The problem with trustworthy doleiros is finding one. You need the right connections.
