Bangkok felt like a candy land just after Phuket trip. A candy land full of SYT candy of course. I will keep this a pretty short FR as I had only few hours of freedom.
First of all Banyan tree hotel was fantastic and girlfriend chose this on purpose. It is away from almost all action. Anyway thanks to future mother in law taking her daughter for shopping got few hours of bachelorhood back. Took a cab around 3 pm to soi26 sukhumvit and rushed in to 101 premier massage. I had booked one pretty girl online for 2 hour oily session, the girl came out was shining example of power of photoshop. Anyway she was still beautiful enough but that was only thing positive about whole session. It was pretty much robotic. I tried my best to flirt with her and get her in mood using broken thai along with google translator. She opened up a bit but it wasn't enough. Oil massage was good and at par with some you might get at legit massage shop but sex was ordinary. She seemed a little sad and her silicone boobs further killed the mood. After fifteen minutes of changing positions, sex became more of a work to be finished than fun. She was not in any rush but it was me who wanted to rush to ending so asked her to perform BBBJ. Good thing was that I went back to hotel 30 minutes earlier than planned and girlfriend was happy to see me still seating in same place. I would not still write off this place as it seemed more of a personal issue with girl I booked.
Next stop patpong. I must thank my girlfriend for taking me away from Sukhumvit. Visited Bada Bing, Club electric blue, Black pagoda and really liked quality of girls present, especially at Bada Bing. BadaBing had more farangs than those likes of Baccara in cowboy. There is a reason for that, girls seemed slightly more tanned than those found in Soi Cowboy. Patpong girls seemed more flirtatious and less plastic nose, less silicon than those found in Sukhumvit. For those who love tanned beauties this could be worth a visit. These are crude generalization from one short visit so please take it with a pinch of salt. I was tired of picking up plastic barbies and never take grannies so patpong is a refreshing change. A word of caution though, pressure for lady drinks is much more than Cowboy and one should be ready to take a blow to pocket before coming instead of whining later.
After patpong gogos wanted to check out Lumpini freelancer scene so walked till lumpini park police station from lumpini MRT. I was there from 12:30 to 1:20 at night. Prices are very cheap compared to MP's,Gogo's but did not wanted to take someone decade older than me. There were 2-3 young girls but since I just had better quality girls did not really bothered taking anyone back. Overall, I would rate Climax, Thermae better venue for FLs but Lumpini is lighter on pockets (I was quoted "1 K LT for hansum man").
Visit to Emmanuelle: A lot less cute, hot sideliners than a year ago. I went here because did not had a time to go soapy hopping and had pretty good sessions in past however lot less beautiful girls than before. Picked one good looking girl, Pan (M24). She has one of the best natural boobs, not too tight not too loose pussy and pleasant personality (along with big list of NO's). Kissing, Anal was not on menu but treat her well and few things start re-appearing on card. Really sweet girl and had good time with her. She is educated and from upper middle class family, don't really get why she is in this business but who am I to complain. Anyway it was expensive than other MP's but baht well spent considering time constraints I had. Only thing I regret is that I had planned visit to Office MP but could not manage.
Happy Mongering in 2015.
Wow you accomplished a heck of alot! LOL, I do say all the photos at the 101 site look post edited. All skin tones softened out, age lines blemishesmassaged away.
"Tailor on Ten" (http://www.tailoronten.com/), definitely. But don't expect your suit to be ready in 24 hours as a good suit will need at least 2 fittings. Think about 5 days. You will pay the price of a good (non-bespoke) suit in Europe, but of course this one will be fully made-to-measure.
They also have the best shirts I've ever seen: solid quality and fully customizable down to the last detail.
Where are his fabrics sourced from though? His workmanship is local thai I guess but the dressshirt fabrics, pinpoint, broadcloath etc are from where? His suits, the wool are from where, Italy? Zegna fabrics?
Yep, I know who you are talking about. I have been to their shop. Ok, but I would probable go with a different shop. A Canadian guy, Ben Viapiana, does really good work. Also Nama Denim in T21 on the men's floor makes some great jeans. I have jeans from both and am very happy. Ben takes about 2 weeks. Once you get a great pair made of Japanese selvedge you will be a convert. I would suggest about a 15 oz fabric to start with. PM me next time you are in town and I can direct you to Ben's.
Ben just imports japanese made selvedge and then hones his own jeans? How much? Ready made brand name selvedge is mostly? Around 180-250 ISG usd, but part of it is due to the made in Japan labor and fashion brand.
I don't wear denim jeans in Bangkok - too hot. I have several pair of summer twill jeans in various colors for casual wear. I see a lot of cargo pants worn in Bangkok. I've read pick pockets love guys who wear cargo pants. I think Bangkok is a pretty safe city. Still, I wouldn't wear a $2K watch walking the sidewalks at night. I wear a Citizen watch I paid a couple hundred for when I travel.
What to wear topics come and go like the wind in the weather, I welcome them personally when they appear, as we can talk about trends and likes / drawing from culture to movies to anything.
Haha, I suspected that cargo pants are everywhere in thailand. I don't even own a pair ever, but always wanted one not for travelling times but just for some weekends. I'd actually hesitate to wear them in BKK as well regardless.
I do believe that PickPokcets in general eye the Cargo pants wearer. any pants with the baggy canvas look and thigh puff pockets, and those stretch waistbands.
What I've decided is to get a pair of pants from rohan (UK) and another from an american make, both of which will be entirely officelike, but performance fabrics, and has no cargo pant look LOL, yet has secret pockets.
I'll look into a basic g-shock casio then as far as watches go.
Sukumvit would be my homebase (hotel) for 5 nights, is it worth any to trek to Pattaya for that location's nightlife, or just stick with all the scene in Nana and Soi and dont bother w/ Pattay except for a day at the beach?
asking cuz is it not a 2 hour taxi ride (sigh) to go from sukumvit to pattaya.... which is the closest beach away eh?

Every source I've seen about Jakarta says the same as the article, including a bunch of recent comments on a well known Thai visa forum. Even if the PFP there was half way decent, the city itself is pathetic, a nightmare & a dump.
After spending the last week in Indonesia, I couldn't agree more. You've hit the nail right on the head.
Jakarta itself is a dump, with the best attraction being the road to the airport on the way out. The women are just so so, and certainly not to my taste. The food is disappointing and not up to the enjoyable standards of other S. E. A. Countries. I'm sure others will beg to differ though.

Going to Pattaya for a few days is a waste of time, IMHO. It takes a few days to get to "know" the place. Splitting 5 days between Bangkok and Pattaya will not get you "into the place" for either location.

About one hour driving from the airport (a bit more from the center of Bangkok, depending on the traffic). It is halfway between Bangkok and Pattaya and the beach is much nicer.

I find they are adventuresome, many have true hourglass figures, and they are much "nastier" as a rule than Thai chicks. Most are monotheistic. Sex is still "dirty" so that makes it more fun. I have never had an Indo gal come out of the shower in a towel and play the shy routine. In fact, usually there is no shower. You hit the room and are at it.
But the most important question what all are thinking, what did you wear?
Cowboy boots, brown leather.
Blue jeans from a renowned designer brand in America. Tight-fitting. Dark blue, not too faded. No rips / holes.
Dark brown leather belt with the well-worn look to match my shoes.
Black underwear with big logo from a well-known European fashion designer brand.
Black polo top from a different European designer.
Perfume: a nice American Cologne.
Just before heading out, I spent half an hour in the shower room, shaving, shampoo, brushing my teeth, scraping my tongue, trimming my nostrils, etc.
No helmet on the moto-taxi on my way to Climax because it ruins my hair style.

However, I tend to prefer Indonesian women to Thai, much for the same reasons as given by Goatscrot. And although this is a matter of personal taste, I prefer good Indonesian food to good Thai food, although prefer both to most western food. But Bangkok is a world-class city and Jakarta is not, so it stands to reason the food options are much greater in Bangkok, particularly for the casual visitor who hasn't learned the terrain in much detail.

I'm looking for reasons not to bother wasting the roundtrip time to pattaya for possibly just one beach day. I'm not concerned much about spending all my days in bbk actually.
Any further suggestions about this beach?
I do think of going to the beach on a weekday, less crowds. Maybe going by noon, via taxi, stay until sunset to catch that, then taxi back to sukumvit?
Any notable eats at bansaen? Massages avail at the beach under an umbrella?

Just tell the taxi to go to beach road and get out at the Beach Road Monument (https://www.google.be/maps/place/Wongwian+Bang+Saen/@13.283804,100.915678,2a,90y,90t/data=!3m5!1e2!3m3!1s47110677!2e1!3e10!4m7!1m4!3m3!1s0x3102b4ba2b345035:0x34fd05894f39415e!2sBang+Saen+Beach!3b1!3m1!1s0x0000000000000000:0xff37d867d15dfd5a!6m1!1e1?hl=nl).
You can rent a beach chair for 50 baht for the whole day and there are lots of food stands on beach road, with delicious seafood.
I haven't seen any massages being given at the beach and certainly during the week when it is more quiet I doubt if there will be any.
Warning: there are not many taxis in Bangsaen to bring you back to Bangkok in the evening, so you better book the taxi that brought you to bangsaen to bring you back.

Bangsaen beach

But if you are there and feel like having a massage then I can recommend 2 places close by Bangsaen beach Road: the first one is the Samutra Spa and salon. It is part of the Tide Resort on Beach Road, but expensive compared to any beach massage at any beach in Thaland. Use google "Bangsaen Samutra" for more details. The other one I can recommend is a very good massage shop at the roundabout (aka Bangsaen Monument). That shop is on the same block as the 7/11-shop. In both cases: strictly legit.
And take Wolvenvacht's advise on taxis.

I think Chaam and Bangsaen beach could be the best bet for the beach lovers. Not even polluted same as Pattaya adulteries, but available in limited collections.
I was there with my GF, so unable to direct exact findings. But I had seen cluster of bars and ladies, as well as massage both the places.
To arrive these places riding a taxi is most easiest way. But for me I always prefer buses for long drive in Thailand. For a long drive, I am a faint hearted one for riding the taxies in Thailand. I had a bitter experience to be.
Buses are available for Bangsaen beach from Ekkami. Ride the Chonburi bus and be confirmed about the bus stoppage where to get down, since I forget the stoppage name. Sure it is not the last end of the ride. Then take a Tuk Tuk to the beach. Anyone can find that easily. There are lots of hotels and resorts all along the beach road as someone like.
The pic of PDF format is from chaam beach and the kids playing with sand are from Bangsaen beach.
