I went this past Friday to Juarez. I had not been to the strip clubs and was curious to see how they compare to the ones in El Paso. The short version: the locale is more run down, the girls are way more fun.

Eduardo's is a small place. I'd say that it can hold maybe 50 people tops. There is a central dance stage with a pole. The girls dance 2 songs and the standard routine seems to be dressed on the 1st song and then they strip on the 2nd. Not all of them do but some do strip entirely. The girls range from the very beautiful to the not so nice. One thing is clear though, they are very affectionate and will be all over you if that is what you like. The standard girl fee is 70 pesos and they will get a small glass filled with ice and the beverage of their choice. You're expected to give a 10 peso gratuity to the waiter/waitress. Speaking of them, the waiters are on each other throats. I found it very comical. This will last very little if the woman isn't paying attention to you or a lot if you're rubbing against each other.

I stayed at Eduardo's for 2 hrs and asked three different girls how much it is to go to a bedroom with them. The standard fee paid to the club is 300 pesos and then each girl will quote you a price. I got quoted 400 pesos, 350 and 600 pesos for 1 hour. As a general rule of thumb though, the prettier the girl the more expensive she's going to B.

As a point of reference, the average exchange rate at any of the Avenida Juarez exchange houses is 12. 80 pesos to 1 dollar during the evening, and 13. 30 pesos to a dollar during the day. Eduardos takes your dollar at a rate of 10: 1, so don't pay in dollars and exchange them to pesos instead.

Yes, IMHO, the precautions you are taking reduces the risk in J-town to an acceptable level.

What I do now is take a cab to an MP as soon as I cross the bridge. I don't go biking or walking around J-town anymore.

What's the alternative to J-town? Permantant blue-balls is also a risk to my health.

I love this area of Juarez. Hookers everywhere. I've ordered some "security" clothes over the internet, which have hidden pockets, in order to hide my money from the crooked policia.
