Very late they congregate around the food stands and popup bars along that stretch. Also many on the sidewalk on the east side of Asoke north of Sukhumvit and along Sukhumvit to Soi 23. As I was staying at the Sofitel and went out in the wee hours to grab some food, I had many opportunities to observe.

Perhaps you misunderstood me but when I offer an LD to an agogo girl, I get at least 15 to 30 minutes of talking (and usually more than talking) out of her. It allows me to gauge the chemistry between us and is generally fun to do. Whether she is drinking alcohol or colored water is the least of my concerns. I wouldn't know where else in the world you get to fondle and grope a SYT for such a low price.

After walking up and down Sukhumvit Road yesterday I finally gave up on Cherry Tree. Could not find the soi. In 2000 the Baht was over 40, a beer in Cowboy was 80 baht (as was a lady drink), BF was 400 Baht in Cowboy, and ST was 1 k Baht. So you go out have three beers, a couple of lady drinks, BF, and screw. Your damage; 45 USD. A great deal, and why most of us chose to make the horrid fligth to come here and why many of us chose to move here. Fast forward to today and you are looking at three times that. Now how many things in your life are you paying three times the amount for now than you did in '00? Very few. The prices in BKK have gotten out of hand.

And drink prices exceed those in the US. There are BKK bars now (no GoGos) that are charging over 400 baht for a cocktail. Those are NYC, Paris, Tokyo prices, but you nowhere near get the quality of life or quality for money that you get in those cities.

BKK was a great place. It had a "decent" quality of life for very little money. Sadly it still has "decent" quality of life but for twice and sometimes three times the price. Hey, I still love the food here, but would I choose this as my home now? Probably not.

The appeal of great weather has more and more of a pull as I near 50!

Freelancers were down by huge percentage and the quality, well lets not even talk about it.
