Soi 33 was dead last night. Its a Japanese catered area and full of massage parlors. I saw Honeys ball massage, didn't do it.
Went over to Soi 22, much better area, small bars, more girls, better atmosphere.
Went to this establishment that caters to Japanese and there are an abundance of really good lookers here. I approached a gal, didn't even bring up prices and she said no. On another night, a gal from this place said yes but she said st was 2500 the and LT was 5000 baht. I passed.
I see more and more of this. Apparently if a girl is seen leaving with caucasian her status drops in the eyes of the Koreans and Japanese. I'm also guessing that they pay more, are less demanding, and done faster than your typical caucasian. No wonder the girls like Asian guys.
Went last night. Had a few drinks. Picked K and S from the lineup. Great time. I would highly recommend either of these girls. Individually or together. Very nice technique individually and even better together.
More and more Thailand will become the playground of Asian men, and I think we will be less and less welcome. The PI is a hole of epic proportions. Sadly, it is one of the few nations where we Americans are still quite liked.
Sad but true. The Philippines has beautiful nature, weather and beaches. The women are beautiful. The food is so-so. Not Thai good, but good enough.
The problem is that it's so dirt poor. The Asian gains seen in the 80's, 90's, and 2000's by Vietnam, Singapore, Japan, Korean, China, and others just never happened in the Philippines. To this day, their best export is their own people to work in other countries as laborers and nannies.
But its still a great country to visit if you can dodge the landmines of corrupt police, pickpocket kids, crazy men who will abduct you for ransom, random violence by locals, and dishonest women.
Your observation is opposite of what I saw few months back. Freelancers were down by huge percentage and the quality, well lets not even talk about it.
My idea of a WG is someone who I want to have sex with in the first place. She has to exceed my minimum standard and obviously quite pretty, well looking. Then there is chemistry, language and all that good stuff. All I saw was horrible fuglies.
Late at night the number of freelancers on Sukhumvit can be deceiving. First of all many of them are Ladyboys. Many of them are Africans. Many of the cute ones you see sitting at a roadside bar are staff and not willing to go. Also many of them are just getting a bite to eat with a customer or friends after getting out of the gogos or other work establishments and are not necessarily available but are not freelancers in the true sense. Most of those girls you see outside of Thermae are girls who work in Thermae and are out to get a bite to eat or a smoke and have no interest in you if you are not Japanese. It changes from night to night, but my best guess is that on a typical night the number of female Thai freelancers on Sukhumvit from soi 3 to Asoke is around 30 at best. Maybe 10 between soi 3 and soi 5 (who all get driven out by the Africans and the bars late at night), another 10 or so around Sofitel to the Thermae and then a few others around Robinsons. And the number of those that are attractive would be close to zero by most standards.

I was out between 2 am and 4 am about half a dozen times. On average I saw a few dozen FLs. Many were sitting at food stalls and popup bars. Most were average at best. A few were above average. I wouldn't describe any as very attractive. Earlier in the evening, from about 9 pm until about midnight I would see a dozen or so girls congregating on the sidewalk in front of Thermae. Most of these were above average to quite attractive, though their hair, makeup and overall appearance appeared to be designed to appeal to Japanese men. I saw considerably more FLs along this stretch of sidewalk in November than in June.

I saw African ladies west of the Sofitel, but very few on the east side. I wouldn't attempt to estimate how many of the ladies were looking for a customer, but on walks back from Soi Cowboy to the Sofitel after 2 am on average about half a dozen ladies would make a verbal solicitation and another dozen would make their intentions clear with eye contact.
My impressions are based on a relatively smaller number of observations over a few weeks on two occasions separated by a few months. Hardly enough to estimate what is typical. I'm sure you have a much better sense of what is typical.
It seemed to me from about 9 to 11 most of the ladies hanging outside of Thermae were taking a break and not looking for a customer; however, generally one or two would give me an inviting look. Later at night, at or shortly after closing, there might be a dozen ladies hanging out there. About half were earnestly looking for a customer and took great interest in me. I would describe most of these ladies as attractive, though not necessarily made up to suit my tastes. I've also mentioned in reports about my June and November trip that on several occasions I went inside Thermae. On every occasion it was crowded; most of the ladies were oblivious of me; but on every occasion about a dozen or so ladies, half of whom I'd describe as attractive, immediately looked at me and smiled. Most of the men in Thermae appeared to be Japanese. The vast majority of the ladies appeared to be only interested in these men. However, on every occasion, had I wished, I could have picked up any one of several attractive ladies.

In the early 2000's you could not make it 20 meters down Suk after 10 pm without hearing, "Go with you? Go with you?" The decrease is astounding. Also the numbers in the BG and other FL establishments are way down. Thermae still has lots of gals but a large percentage will shun us round-eyes.
Its all pretty sad really. Let's just look at some numbers. In 2000 the Baht was over 40, a beer in Cowboy was 80 baht (as was a lady drink), BF was 400 Baht in Cowboy, and ST was 1 k Baht. So you go out have three beers, a couple of lady drinks, BF, and screw. Your damage; 45 USD. A great deal, and why most of us chose to make the horrid fligth to come here and why many of us chose to move here. Fast forward to today and you are looking at three times that. Now how many things in your life are you paying three times the amount for now than you did in '00? Very few. The prices in BKK have gotten out of hand.
And drink prices exceed those in the US. There are BKK bars now (no GoGos) that are charging over 400 baht for a cocktail. Those are NYC, Paris, Tokyo prices, but you nowhere near get the quality of life or quality for money that you get in those cities.
BKK was a great place. It had a "decent" quality of life for very little money. Sadly it still has "decent" quality of life but for twice and sometimes three times the price. Hey, I still love the food here, but would I choose this as my home now? Probably not.
Oh, and don't forget the cost of the airfare.
Cocktails? Now you've found a pet peeve. If you think 400 is bad, try Skybar. Last time I went it was 600 for the absolute worst mojito I've ever had. My gripe is that I have yet to find a Thai bartender who knows a single malt from a single-edged razorblade. And it seems the more "high class" the bar, the more incompetent the bartender. Maybe 3 years ago I walked into a nice Suk hotel (forgot the name), went to the bar and ordered a Daiquiri, straight up. I got rum and sour mix. And I paid over 300 baht for the privilege. Dayum!! If I'm going to pay LA prices I want LA quality.

And FFS people don't make near the money folks do in the US, so it is ludicrous that prices should be anywhere near those cities. To be fair there are a few bars that mix really good cocktails here; but you are really paying for that privilege and they are filled with YUDs (young urban douchebags) and YADs (young Asian douchebags).

There were probably 20 girls from the Sofitel and Soi 7/1. Last night hardly a one. I don't think there is anything "usual" here. Maybe the cops or business owners move them around. Who knows!

As a venue, I found it a bit overrated, despite having highly desirable company. It was quite windy up there, when I attended recently, and the view was not that special. Did not get a very good view from a normal seating position, I found. Maybe I failed to have the very best seats. I have found other rooftop high bars with a very decent view and much better prices. Just being the highest is not that special. Slightly lower can give better views. Can't see myself motivated to go a second time, unless a stunning girl really wants it.
Even Baiyoke Sky Hotel has pretty decent city lights views from some guest rooms. Also Column Hotel near Sukhumvit.
