2 Other Clubs
Bravo,
I, too, have been to 2a2. It's cramped. The boite area is also small. I did not like it.
The other two clubs are both in Centro. I have not visited either.
Mistura Certa Clube: They have something going on Tuesday through Sat.
http://misturacerta.com.br/
The other club is Club Mix, every Thursday, swing club Festa 18a meets and plays there. The club has several theme floors. I've always wanted to check it out, as it's setup like a regular nightclub.

I'm familiar with the swing scene. There is never any pressure to participate.
You'll get approached, let them know you're new, and what you're into. They'll respect your wishes.
Your girl will be able to live out her fantasy at either place.

Villa Mimosa
Reading reports and guides here... What sort of a shelter are you guys living in??
Went to VM last night, it was perfectly fine and not even dirty by my standards. Try Dolly (Surabaya ID) or A. Santos street (Angeles City PH).
The cabins were clean... The girls were cheap. I got BBBJ from both.
YMMV.

Not trying to put down your standards but I have been there also and that place no matter how many times I go is filthy. You can't even have sex without having to put a sheet or towel on the dirty bed. This place is very low end and dirty. The girls don't even look that good unless your desperate to pull a girl just for pussy or feel like looking for a needle in the haystack. But thats just my opinion. This is nothing towards you.

swing talk
All this swing talk reminds me of a scene in luomo a while back. I'm in the dressing room when this guy comes in with a lady. They must be Americans because she is feeling stressed and taking it out on him. 'What do I do. where do we go, etc.' Many questions, like a machine gun, no time to answer. I'm sure we have all been there. I felt sorry for the guy because he was obviously trying to do something for the two of them but it looked like it was going nowhere.
I found myself wishing they would hook up with Pietra who could knock some sense into her, get out that dildo she keeps for the French amd Italian guys (just quoting her, no offense intended) and give it to one or both of them and calm the whole situation down. Tranquillo!
But I was on the way out so I don't know how it turnd out.
Bottom line, I think most people have to try these more exotic things a few times before they get the hang of it. So tranquillo and good luck.

Needles in haystacks
Picking out a gem in VM is like picking a needle in a haystack?
I would say that picking a suitable girl in Help is much harder work. That is, finding a beautiful, reliable, not spoiled, trustful Help girl that will not overcharge you.
The most beautiful pro I ever seen in Brazil I saw in VM a year ago. She was one of the few pro's I've seen that I would give 10 points without hesitating. I was walking around looking for what to choose. Then I suddenly saw a stunning angel down on the street buying a hot dog. I hurried up to her and told her I wanted a session. She laughed and pointed towards one of the casas "Get in line, you're lucky, right now there is only six guys in front of you." I checked out her casa and yes, there were six guys lined up waiting for their turn. I didn't want to be in that line.
Unfortunately the girl only worked two days a week, then she went back home to the suburbs. This was her second day that week. The following day I had errands to Feira dos Paraiba and thought I was going to try my luck at a sleepy VM around noon. Did I get happy when I passed the angels casa and heard that she was sleeping over in the casa? PLEASE, wake her up!
I got my session. R$ 25. It was absolutely fabulous (specially as the electricity went out and we had to start the session over again). Nice to be the first customer. No chance to take a photo, not even when I offered her R$ 50. Very amazing that she worked at VM and not at a upperclass terma. Two weeks later she wasn't working at VM any more.
Knowing what I have seen and purchased at VM, knowing some of the gems you have purchased and shared, this must have been one super hot lady. The Eden of Rio rarely disappoints.
"The Eden of Rio", nice. I'm looking forward to share an apple with a VM Eve.
(BTW, her name was Viviane).

11 days in Rio
I returned last week and spent 11 days just in Rio. The weather absolutely sucked! Cloudy everyday, and it rained almost all the time. I've been going down there for over 20 years, and by far the worst weather ever. The prices for everything are outrageous! I only went to 1 restaurant that is well know, that being Porcaos, both in Flamengo and in Ipanema. The food is wonderful, but it's getting just too too pricey! I ate mostly at small restaurants/cafes, and the food is always adequate, yet still too expensive! I was excited to visit Help, and wow, was I disappointed! The dance floor was never crowded, and the crowds and excitement that has always been there in the past just never appeared! I have always enjoyed the beautiful outfits and the sexy dancing that goes on there, its quite a show in itself, but I almost can use the word "boring" to describe my nights there. The music was AWFUL, much worse than in past years. There always are a few incredibly gorgeous women there, but the overall number of women, being so much less than in past years, brought down the number of strikingly beautiful woman way way down! I visited 4x4 and was severely disappointed! Too many women with huge butts, and too large a body for me, and the ratio of guys to girls must have been around 7 or 8 to 1, if not more. Just too crowded for me! Luomo's on the other hand was wonderful, my best memory of this past trip. The atmosphere is much more relaxed, and the girls seem to enjoy chatting with the guys. I had a phenomenal experience there, one that I won't forget for a long while! I felt safer this time than ever before! For the first time I stayed in Copacabana, and I actually prefer it over Ipanema. I stayed at the JW Marriott. It is totally girl friendly, and the girls even had the great breakfast buffet for no charge the following morning if they chose to, and they always did! I know the Olympics are a long ways away for Rio, but it seems to me that they better get there act together, starting sooner, much sooner, than later! They have a tremendous amount of work that needs to be done. Traffic, the airport, the overall lack of nice hotels, the roads, are just a few of the things that need to be improved before the Olympics arrive! These are just a few random thoughts that have come to my mind since my return home last week. Still, even after all my "negative reviews", it is still the most magical city in the world for me. The city gives off a sensuality that is absolutely breathtaking. And the women, well, it is, and always will be a paradise for men. Nowhere in the world can the women of Brazil be equaled in both there beauty, and in there sexuality!

This so mirrors my own experience at VM, almost to each sentence, so it's probably the reason I love the place.
Finding a needle in the haystack at VM feels totally wonderful and quite unbeatable. Whereas going to the top termas one expects the jewels to be
lined up ready - which means disappointment if they're not.

Remember that many of the girls have left Copa to go back home to thier children and families for X-Mas. Also, with the lack of tourists in town, the girls dont want to pay 40R to enter help, if they arent sure they will get a man for the evening. Help really only gets going on Fri & Sat. Best thing to do is wait out front and grab a girl before she enters the club, make her an offer while she is in line, so she doesnt have to waste her money on the entrance fee.

Metro-Rio
I thought for sure, Chris would have chimed in on this: :)
The Metro-Rio now goes all the way to Ipanema. President Lula came out and inaugurated the new station: General Osório, Monday. (Only took them 30yrs to get there. Hope their Olympic efforts are faster.)
There is also a new connection between Pavuna-Botafogo.

Looking at the Metro-Rio website, they haven't updated their maps, as I do not see the new station listed:

Must have cost over $3500 US, correct? Did you find the rooms there small? I stayed there for a few nights using my reward points and they gave me an Atrium facing room that was not much bigger than a large walk-in closet. But nice place, nice rooftop (small) pool and nice concierge level members lounge with free breakfast and snacks.
I hear you about the price of Porcaos. I went to a great churrascaria restaurant in a small town near Agua de Prata a few weeks ago. Apaloosa's. The best, most authentic churrascaria I ever ate. They hardly ever see gringos there. Nothing fancy, but a large, clean dining room with tons of Brazilian families out for a Sunday lunch. Great salads, great salmon, deliciously seasoned meats, fresh baked garlic bread, great dessert selection. Great service where I had to slow them down with my red card a few times. I brought the mulata bus ticket agent I have been seeing and helping with her English studies near my home, and the woman that cares for my home and assists with my work, her sister and her sister's 3 y/o son. 4 adults and a child. Drinks, coffee, dessert and tip. Total damage R$132. Was R$19 per person. Plus there was a great little play area for kids. I brought the boy out there when the ladies were having dessert and scored some real brownie points with my date. We spent the entire afternoon and night working off that meal.

I went to Pavuna (aka, the last metro stop north) last month. It is very poor and sad looking. It became clearer to me why the beautiful girls come to Copa. In Pavuna, the main non government employer was one humble McDonald's near the Metro Station. Before I got off at that stop I saw favelas on both sides of the train.
As for the Ipanema station, it is right at the favela where Ipanema and Copacabana connect, Favela Pavao-Pavaozinho. I was up there on the back of a motorcycle. Also, it is where some of the criminals that are robbing the girls and recently set a bus a fire. I'm sure that station will be heavily guarded, but I wouldn't use it at night. If you miss Cantagalo coming from centro in the evening, make sure you have on running shoes and not flip-flops! And don't be by yourself looking like a gringo.

Help entrance
I was going through some old papers and saw that the entrance to Help in 1992 was 9000 cruzeiros, about US$ 5. Anybody has any knowledge what was the price that the Help-ladies asked for back then? Maybe RioBob knows?

Well, I wasn't there in exactly the year 1992 but I was there few years before and a few years after.
As you know the money situation was quite different back then, you could exchange your money on the black market and get 30 to 40% more than the official exchange rate. This made Rio very cheap, Marius with beers was $6.
Copacabana girls never gave me a price at the beginning of the night it was all GFE, they spent the night and next day when leaving they would ask for a "present". I remember paying them less than Amsterdam and Amsterdam had fixed prices of $35 short term. So we probably gave them about $20 to $30 for a nice Copacabana girl for TLN.
Today it's much different, people are advised here to get everything in writing first including price and services. In those days it was really like meeting a girl and having a one night stand, only difference was the small "present" in the morning. Many of these girls would show up the next day and wait outside your hotel, we used to avoid them of course, now I meet their daughters.

An appeal...
Help's staff has appealed to Alerj, the Rio State Worker's Commission to keep Help open til the end of summer.
While the deputies decided the future of the electronic ticket in Parliament, officials of the Club Help in Copacabana, occupied the galleries of Alerj.
With banners in hand, they ask that Help not close Jan 2 as the Governor stated, as it's tourist season. "We need to work til Carnaval," stated Maria Emília Malho, a Rep for the workers.
And today, they're holding a protest at an inauguration for a New Police Station, (the UPP) in Pavão-Pavãozinho.
We, (those that are Pro-Help,) will be deeply indebted to Help's staff, if their efforts are successful.
