Joe, Please Reverse More of Trump's Policies Faster
This report includes several charts and graphs showing the extraordinarily poor performance of Trump's economic "stewardship" across the board all throughout his four years in office. The Jobs Growth by Presidential Term graph is a particularly interesting one, showing how poorly Republican presidential jobs growth is compared to Democratic presidents. Note how many jobs were created under Carter in just 4 years compared to any other president both Dem and Repub serving 6-8 years, especially Reagan.
Too bad they had to lay so many of George W. Bush's plunging jobs numbers at Obama's feet since he took over just as the Niagara Falls of those Republican policy job losses were cresting and crashing onto the rocks below. Otherwise, Obama's jobs creation numbers would have dwarfed those of the best Repub numbers for Reagan too. Mind you, Reagan's years in office benefited from virtually every Baby Boomer (age 16 to 35 when Reagan took office) fully participating in the workforce while those same Baby Boomers were retiring with Social Security at a rate of 10,000 per day when Obama took office.
Imo, they cut Trump too much slack in this report by not emphasizing enough the Trump economic decisions as early as 2018 and certainly in full force in early 2020 that turned a manageable (by a better USA President) endemic in the Wuhan area of China into a deadly worldwide economy-destroying Pandemic.
Then again, that is what mainstream media punditry typically does in order to help Republicans look like viable if not preferable candidates for future elections. Another recent example being the way they characterized the 266,000 or so jobs created in April under a Dem as "dismal" while they and Trump would have been crowing about such a monthly jobs creation number for a year as one of the "greatest of all time!" even prior to Trump's Pandemic crash. lol
President Trump took office at the crest of the longest economic expansion in U.S. history. He leaves presiding over the worst labor market in modern U.S. history, as an already-sputtering economic recovery has turned negative.
Fridays awful jobs report from the Labor Department showed there were still 3 million fewer jobs in the United States than there were on Inauguration Day 2017, when Trump stood in front of the Capitol and vowed to reverse the American carnage.
