If you don't like the way Korean owned bars are run, stop going to the Korean owned bars. I keep reading posts about Western guys going to Korean owned bars and complaining about it. Well, the easy solution is to stop going to the Korean owned bars and go to the Western owned bars.

Now some may say the Korean owned bars cater to the Koreans as if that is shocking. Korean owned bars market in South Korea to Korean men and most of the customers are Korean. As such, they want to make the bars attractive to Korean men and run it the way Korea men would like. Now if you read the posts, guys are complaining about the barfines in the Korean bars. If you think the barfines are too high, perhaps you should not go there.

Now, why aren't there more Western owned bars? Because they are struggling financially to make a profit and there are not enough Western customers. South Korean is a short flight from Angeles City so more customers from South Korean can visit more frequently for short trips and when you are on a short trip, you can afford to spend more to enjoy your visit. Koreans generally are good business people and they figured out how to make a profit running bars in Angeles City and if that means catering to their primary customers, that is way they are going to do it. And now there is a whole eco-system for the Koreans with Korean restaurants and Korean run hotels and bars that cater to their tastes.

Nothing is stopping Westerners from doing the same thing and in the past, that was the way Angeles City was. Why did it change? Because it wasn't working out financially for the business owners, business started to die out and then it was reborn again with Korean money.

Anyway that is my opinion and I could be wrong.

So on Tuesday I went back to Roelgeorges and to my surprise when I walked in, there was some younger talent there.

During my time there, I feel I caught the very tail end of the decline of Angeles city (2010-2015) to what it is today. You guys who was there in AC in the 80's I envy you guys, I wish I could have experienced that.

I was still young (28-33) in 2010-2015, (I'm 43 now). So I think that plays into why I was able to still have such a good time in AC between 2010-2015. Because make no mistake AC was starting its decline in 2010-2015, which is why so many expats was complaining about prices and everything else under the sun on Pi at night forums during that time.

Anyway, I've read with interest everyone's opinions. Good or bad of AC as we view it today. I think it all comes down to, if you manage to get what you want out of the current situation.

I can understand the glory days and wow, it must have been a blast. During my travels, I've met a lot of guys who were involved in the military when it was at it's peak.
