Having already spent 10 days in Thailand, I already got a feel for what Bangkok might actually be. I've done a lot of research and watched a few videos on the red light districts, and to my surprise, nana plaza, soi cowboy, and patpong were a lot smaller than I originally thought. Bangkok is very famous for it's sex tourism, so I thought those places were going to be huge, but they're not. Their crammed onto a block or two, or crammed into a strip mall. This was shocking to me when I arrived. I walked Bangla road in Phuket and was expecting the same thing. All three combined probably aren't the same size as bangla road. Nana plaza has three floors compact with bars, go go bar, pickup bars, and ladyboy bars. Most of the women here on a Wednesday night werent great looking. I mean, I'm not gay, but the ladyboys were much better looking than the girls, which is pretty sad. Seriously, some of these ladyboys looked like cartoons of women. You have to give it up to these plastic surgeons, they do a pretty damn good job. With the abundance of them, I didn't want to take my chances here. First, you have to negotiate the price for the show, but you have to establish what you get with the show, what you have to buy, and what you're paying all together. Even then they try to scam you. I paid 400 THB, but I talked to a few others and they only paid between 200-300,1 drink included. I went to the place next to and upstairs from Golden Fingers, I want to say it's Super Pvssy, but not too sure. Once you get in there, all the free ladies come to you and talk you up and ask for drinks, I said no. They bring the drinks anyway, I said no, take them away, I didn't order them. Then after every show, they come around asking for tips. I told them I already paid for a show, I'm not paying anymore. The girls here weren't really attractive, you have a couple who were, but the rest were kind of undesireable. Shows included, ping pong, blowing a horn, writing some words with a crayon, popping balloons with darts, blowing out candles, something with shoe laces, and others that werent too impressive. Some ladyboy, who I thought was a gorgeous girl from far away, came up and asked for a tip for dancing, I asked if she was a lady boy, and she just kept her hand out and said "tip! Tip!" again and ignoring my question, therefore she validated my assumption. I was also told there were no ladyboys here. At Soi cowboy, we walked a bit to check out the talent, and headed into The Doll House. The place isn't bad, but the drinks were ridiculously priced. For a regular sized singha or chang, was 150 thb. They rotate girls dancing, but they don't really dance. You have some that just don't want to be there at all, to some who are super spunky and trying to get bought for the night.
