Bars are jam packed, not one single girl walking the beat, not one. Cops are fucking everywhere. Thank god for my Puerto Plata girlies via Facebook. Doesn't change my life one bit, my dance card is full.

Right, The Ritz in Sos, what kind of dope is that; these tales resurface once in couple years.
Right, The Ritz in Sos, what kind of dope is that; these tales resurface once in couple years.
The Ritz is going to be at La Boca in Cabarete. The Gansevoort is currently being renovated and is going to be another one of the Marriott high end Hotels. The third hotel is another renovation of a closed property in Cabarete, the name escapes me. Google it. Questner these aren't rumor, these projects were announced by Marriott themselves, its happening. And these are all 200-800 dollar a night rooms, again Google it if you don't believe me.
I have been going to Sosua since 2011 and it has changed somewhat as I saw in August this year, with few women on the prowl and I mentioned even a policewoman chasing a poor girl trying to hide inside a store. The fact of the matter is that, for me, it changes nothing. I still find the place interesting with its small footprint, expat population and accordingly, good restaurants. The women? They all come to you. So whoever is reading this, especially the US crowd who seem to be more into story telling or wondering, can plan ahead and, what with google translate, it is a no-brainer even for the language challenged. The sky is not falling!
P.S: I will back there for another weekend, hopefully soon and then there is Christmas time amid warm weather.
In Sosua next weekend for 10 days. Not changing my plans. Screw the mayor, Been going since 2011. Use to find skinny good looking girls at 1:30 to 2 am. Between 2011-2014 in Classico. But times have change. You just have to make adjustments. The girls will find us. They need the money.
I go to Angeles 120 days a year. Use to be cheap 10-20 years ago. The usual guy would stay two weeks. Now its like two or three days. Not cheap anymore because the Korean can fly down for the weekend and don't care what they pay. Its like Southern California guys spending all their money in Vegas. I have made my adjustments. Current barfine (no negotiation, flat rate in bar) it is 3000-3500 p (52 to the dollar). Plus 500 p tip plus they want one or two drinks at 300 p per drink. It like 4000 p total $80 US and you have a 50/50 chance of short time. I made my adjustments. 1500 p out of the disco (tip is 100 p for trike) and 1200 plus tip (300 to 500) out of three short time bars. Trips are 30 days and I end up with around 30 different girls. Girls I get are sevens. Made my adjustments why the tourist and Korean pay the top prices. Plus some of the star? Girls want 4000 p instead of 3500 p.
Casinos?? City Lights? Beach??Eating places the girl go to?? Adjustments and adapting in Sosua.

However, if I'm not wrong, rumors happen for a reason. Someone wants to convince someone else that something is more valuable than it is and that something big is about to unfold. If you've read Jack London you know what might happen next. It's gold, baby! LOL!
Seriously, Marriott would have to lose more than a few screws to open their top luxury hotel in the town of Cabaret or anywhere on the North Coast for that matter. It's just pure insanity. Moxy maybe.
Well fellows just got some word from a brother on the ground that Classicos has closed. The owner decided to do it himself for whatever reasons I do not know. I just got a message saying that he voluntarily closed both upstairs and Merrange Bar to avoid harassment. It was opened last night but today it is closed. I do have any other conformation of whether this true or not so I am reaching to you brothers to confirm that this is truly the case. Everything else is opened except for that.
What everything else? LOL!
If the streets are dead, and Classico / Merengue is dead, there is nothing else anymore, is there?
City Lights?
Fun times.
Dominican Today is running an article regarding the North Coast new development of 3 new high end hotels slated for Sosua with a US $350 million investment creating 2000 new jobs. You can check it out on "Dominicantoday.com". They are talking about a new W Hotel, The Ritz Carlton Reserve, and The Luxury Collection. These are the new hotels that will be built under that investment. Of course it remains to be seen if in fact it will come to pass. This might be one reason the Cestur is harassing the the local folks on the street. Prostitution is LEGAL, so why do they hassle the girls? Your guess is as good as mine.
Sosua is what it is and I have been going for years and still do and plan to continue to do so. There are slow seasons and high seasons but you can always find what you are looking for no matter what time of year it is. Some days are just better than others. What they fail to realize is that we are the financial backbone of that town. Are they trying to send us a message? I wonder what the real strategy is and what they want to happen. Looks to me like they are sending a message to stay away. But the chicas are resilient and won't stop the business anytime soon in my opinion. But for sure come November the streets will be packed as their Christmas season begins and the tourist head back to Sosua to beat the cold.
Anybody in their right mind who researches Sosua as a mongering destination is going to be put off going because of the crackdown going on there.
Classico closed down per presidential order.
Whatever happened to THIS report that you provided a few days ago? Where did that information come from? Clearly that info is suspect. In subsequent days / nights after that presidential order, guys were reporting that both places were open. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Willie voluntarily close both of them today or yesterday? Which is it? Presidential order or voluntary?

I was told this was coming and the video of the mayors meeting with brass was real. She was very confident. This a slap in the face of the brothers. The place supplied girls music and drinks we liked. This is where the weekend warriors posted. Most of these guys speak no spanish and have very little game because they did not need to develope it. The businesses that we supported will suffer greatly. SU aint dead but she is on life support. I see nothing filling the void. Baileys and all those eating spots are going to die very soon. I will be on the ground in 2 weeks but I may spend more time in SD with my regulars. The last time Classicos closed De latins opened we did not miss a beat. A bussiness owner informed me that everything else was open but Classicos. At the end of the day we only see the tip of the iceberg, There are movers and shakers pulling the string and we aint them. All we can do is wait and see what fills the vacum. Action could move to Puerto Plata or Caberetti

Look at when I said classico was being shut down and all the commentary of why it would not happen. Now do you really believe out of the blue classico closes down voluntarily. You believe that you fall for anything. Your information is suspect that it closed down on its own.
