Which area for first timer?
Thanks for the remarks. Most appreciated. I will definitely take a taxi to and from the airport.
In my first question, I was wondering primarily if I should stay in a hotel close to either Nana (NEP) or Soil Cowboy (SC) so as to minimize the walking distance for a girl I might bring back. The consensus is that it shouldn't matter, since for the comfort of the girl who may be wearing heels, I should always use a taxi, thus making the distance irrelevant.
A follow up question arises, and I am aware that there may be some debate and disagreement, is:
For a Thailand newbie, should their first visit be to the NEP or to SC?
In my research going back a few years here and there, the consensus has oscillated as to which is the best overall place, with many today saying they are both bad. Note: I am not to mongering. I am a senior member in the USA section and have spent many hours in Pahrump and Carson City. But mongering in Thailand is different! I have to assume that for a first timer one place may be slightly less overwhelming than the other.
Factors that might come into consideration are the type of girl I would be looking for (18-28, upper end of the looks scale, tight and toned); where there are fewer LBs to have to worry about; where there may be less harassment from the girls, bouncers, mamasan's, etc; where there is less risk of scamming; where there might be some expats to seek refuge with; etc.
I do plan on exploring both areas, and which ever place I visit the first night I would visit the other the next night, so perhaps it is not a big deal.
FYI, my tentative arrival date into BKK will be around April 15.
LOL. In the middle of Songkran

One early afternoon, around 1:15 PM, I was just out of Bamboo Massage after a 2-hour adventurous 3-shot experience, feeling kinda empty and numb, and the idea of making a visit to Som's Haven suddenly came into my mind. "Well! Why not?" I told myself and headed toward Soi 14. In a matter of minutes, I was right at their doors. Line-up of four girls outside, all enjoying their lunch except one. And all of them were kinda young and cute. And yes! Two of them were spinner type. Chose the girl named "M", who seemed to have finished her lunch a little earlier and we went upstairs together. Upstairs, at first glance, reminded me of Dr. BJ's. There was a corridor with a few doors on the left side opening to the BJ private rooms / cubicles. No surprises that I was the only customer in the venue at that time of the day.
So, we went to one of the rooms. Room, IMHO, was actually better decorated than those of Dr. BJ's and it had a small washing sink separated from the room by a small curtain. Soon, the initial greetings and cleanings were done and the BJ part started. Not bad! A very little amount of teeth involved but was not a turn-off at all. 10 minutes passed and I was not even close to the finishing point but the girl started to get a little uncomfortable. She started complaining about the pain in her neck (kinda neck arthritis which might be a possible defect of this job in the long run) and I could see in her face that she was right about it. So, I started to massage her neck using my medical massaging skills trying to relieve her pain while she was proceeding with her job. In a few minutes, her neck was in pain again, so, I asked her to stop and we switched to boom boom. Condom on and we started the job. First, face-to-face, with me sitting and her trying to ride me, but soon we switched to doggy and the missionary and went on with it to the end. Man! I was totally out of energy. We hugged each other for a while and then we cleaned ourselves, put on the cloths, and went downstairs.
Downstairs, I saw a lady behind the bar, which, I guess, was Som herself. 1200 THB to the bar and 300 THB tip to the girl and I said goodbye and left the place.
All in all, good experience. Nice and clean place, Small but quality line-up, and friendly behavior are what I liked from my experience. On the downside, girl's neck pain killed off part of my mood which she made up for in the boom-boom part, and IMHO, the type and placement of sofas in the room was not ideal for sex at all.
The Airport Rail Link is good
Hi, all, new guy here.
I am hoping to get to Thailand in the latter half of April, spending time in BKK, Phuket and Pattaya.
I would prefer to stay near a BTS station due to hauling luggage around. I would probably have one largish bag and a backpack. I have no idea how easy or hard it would be to haul stuff down Sukhumvit to a hotel. I can deal with taxis, but being a nube, I would rather avoid them to the extent possible, at least until I get comfortable with the area.
Thanks
If you are traveling light "one largish bag and a backpack" which you are, I would take the airport rail link (train). It costs 45 baht, less than $2 USD. But it also depends what time you are arriving in BKK, the airport train starts at 6 am to midnight.
At the airport after you get out of customs / immigration, you take the escalators down below like everyone else, then go one level below the street and that's where the train is. There is not a lot of people when you get on, you get your choice seat.
You take that train and head for Makkasan Station. At Makkasan station, you can get a taxi for a very short ride to either Nana or Soi Cowboy area. Yes that airport rail will get crowded as the train makes it's stops, but you got on at the beginning so, you have a seat.
That's what I did, wasn't hard at all and saved my money for the chicks.
