On my latest arrivals into BKK it has worked smoothly and I admit I have never ever even looked at the reciept handed out by the staff (not even when the old system was there). I can not see the reason for actually having any staff bcs last time a couple a weeks ago I don't think I said anything, she pressed the screen and woah I got the token directing me to the correct taxistand (nr 7). In most cases for a long time now I just say 500 to the driver and they have all taken the freeway towards the sukhumvit exit and as far as I remember no one has made any attempts to ask me to pay the tolls. By the way I see some state they just go to departure level to grab a taxi. How do guys do that nowadays as they have blocked the access with only one way moving barriers (from the taxi drop and into the terminal)? Even some guards stand close by (only my observation when I left 2 mondays ago). Maybe airport authorities try to prevent this from happening.

I was in Soi Cowboy at Songkhran and all bars were in full swing as from the early afternoon. Same same for the massage shops in Sukhumvit Soi 23.

It is true that many girls go to the family upcountry but that still leaves enough girls to last you a lifetime of f*ing.

BKK is OK during Songkran. I was there during Songkran last year, and suffered through the occasional annoying water fight, but apart from that I had an excellent time in Soi Cowboy, in the shops in the sub-Sois of Soi 22, in Queens Park Plaza, in the massage shops of Soi 23 - well pretty much everywhere.
