You should have checked out Liberty which is right next door. I met a girl there that I ended up staying with for 10 days out of my 2 week trip. Which now that I think about it is insane, considering the ridiculous amount of frighteningly gorgeous women that I could and usually am hooking up with every time I'm over there. Oh well, no regrets right? Well I'm regretting the fact that I'm back to work and freezing my ass off. I really wish I never left.

I just wanted to post my experience of Saigon/HCMC back in January of 2001. It was my first mongering experience and I had 2 girls on 2 consecutive nights.
Staying in a regular hotel on vacation. Keep in mind I am a Viet Kieu (Vietnamese born in US). I come out of the hotel late at night to catch a couple drinks. This pimp was also there having some drinks himself. Talked to him a little bit. Eventually, I asked him to get me a girl.
We hop on his moped and go off to a hooker-friendly hotel. He drives off to get a girl for me. I do not recommend this if you are not familiar with Viet Nam or do not have an understanding of the country as it can be dangerous.
A girl comes in a couple minutes later. She showed her ID to the hotel and we proceed to go upstairs. She goes into the shower to undress and reappears in a white towel. We go at it in multiple positions and finish off with doggie. What a tight, tight pussy. Never will be the same in America :)
The second girl experience was at the same hotel. Originally, I came there that night to get the same girl I had the other night. Turns out she left back to her home and so the pimp offers another girl. I initially declined, but stopped them as the pimp was driving her back.
Pretty much the same experience as the first. I'll never forget that first experience. I believe I paid 200,000 for 1 hour for each girl. I tipped the first girl, as she was more friendly and GFE-like.
I returned home the day after that. Will probably come back sometime soon. Hope the action is still hot there ;)

WIld Child you are the best. Windsor hotel worked out great, get double rooms,you can bring in girls no problem, after 10 p.m. as well. They even let gest return at 5 a.m. Thanks again. Paid $46 including all taxes, a little steep but again absolutely no grief. When we have stayed in $!6 a night hotels seemed like too much grief with authorities..
AS re: AN I have been here before, in my opinion talent getting a little old. Incredibly crowded on weekend. Candidly, we found it as good to just show up 15 mintues before closing and hang outside. Local little bars with pool tables much much better. ALso others experiences with just meeting locals during the day and making dates works if you want to invest the time.

Always happy to help out fellow mongers. I totally agree with you, I'd rather spend a little extra money and be able to relax and really enjoy myself. I don't see any need to spend time in a foreign prison, especially one in a communist country. Yeah, I personally stay away from AN now unless I'm showing a friend around town and it's their first trip. The way I see it, I already meet enough expats through business functions and if you're on holiday in a foreign country, you really should absorb some of the local culture. Plus the locals really know how to party, it's crazy.
Davedave: Liberty is a hostess bar. It might not be your cup of tea but if you're sick of partying and you just want to chill out and have a few casual drinks, you might as well have some cuties cuddling you right?
Blue Wolf: You can find SW's all over HCM City. There are hostess bars, massage parlours, even pros hanging out at nightclubs. I've been eating at roadside restaurants after the bars closed for the night and had girls approach me. If you are staying at a foreign chain hotel (Sheraton, Caravelle, etc.) they won't hassle you but they are quite a bit more expensive. I would not suggest bringing girls back to the government hotels (the government tourism board: Saigontourist has a pretty good monopoly on hotels and even a lot of the shops that cater to tourists.) I don't think your race has much bearing on the matter if you're staying at a decent hotel, they either will hassle you or they won't. The only problem I can foresee with your skin colour would be if you chose to go to a local mini-hotel where they would try to fleece you for whatever you have. English speaking would really depend upon where you're picking girls up. On the street I'd say you've got a 20% chance of some english, most hostess bars have a mamasan that speaks english and you can just ask her to find a girl who speaks english. You can go through the forum to get an idea of prices.
Turbo Carl: I'm sorry to report that the Grand Hotel is not so grand... I also believe that it's a Saigontourist hotel. You're also out of luck on the go go bars. The Vietnamese government would never grant a business license for anything like that. You can always check out bars, nightclubs, and massage parlours depending on what you're looking for. I don't know if your girlfriend would find a happy ending at a massage parlour though, I find that the Vietnamese girls aren't really big on the girl-girl action. I've only been able to pull a threesome in Saigon twice. Nothing like Thailand or Cambodia where I've had as many as 8 going at a time.

I will write a post abouth my (un)luck, but VN sounds a lot less girlfriendly than China.

No problem Blue Wolf. If the hotel is privately owned you shouldn't have any problems especially if you slip the guy working the night shift at the desk some cash. And I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the Viet girls, they're very friendly and a lot of them are stunners. Have fun buddy!
Dave, I would suggest that once you get inside you ask to speak with Mamasan. There are 2 of them, the senior one speaks passable English and she's very good at taking care of good clients. Just tell her what sort of girl you're looking for but make sure to tell her you want one that will go home with you. She'll also let you know prices if you ask her. There are a couple of girls that just work as hostesses and live off tips without going home with guys. This was the case with the girl that I hooked up with but we hit it off pretty good so we just arranged to hook up during the day. You never know, freebies are always a possibility. The cover charge is 70 000-100 000 VND depending on the night and you usually tip the girls 200 000 if you don't want to take them home. I usually find that my tab is way more than whatever I give the girls and I tip pretty good. They love me there because I'm a good-looking drunk..... I guess extras inside are a possibility but I really doubt it, it's not really a sleazy joint. There are a couple spots like Monkey Bar where that goes down but they tend to be pretty trashy places.

As has been reported here before Monkey Bar likes to play tricks on unsuspecting tourists and is basically a rip off. There are many similar "juicer bars" in and around Hai Ba Trung Street area but it's one of the worst. Shit, it's located directly around the corner from the ridiculous super luxury Caravelle Hotel - so what do you expect! Liberty has never appealed to me either. U2 is one of the better ones as several have agreed. Since the HCMC police goons no doubt monitor this forum I think it's best not do discuss details about specific venue services and especially girl friendly private hotels. There are several very worthwhile hostess bars in HBT area but you have to get around and inspect them. Some definitely have on premisis BJ or FS but everyone needs to be discrete. I don't know what the previous post about 70-100K cover charge is all about since there's never such a charge in the dozen or more bia om in this area - unless you're being ripped off. Maybe he means a freelancer bar like AN with its door cover. Yes, mamasan will want around 200K to "buy out" one of her hostess girls which is equivalent to around 5-6 "lady drinks." The suggestion about meeting up discretely with a girl the next day is often the way to go or try for on premisis sex. Again, all very discretely with a tip to the girl of 200K (BJ) 300K (FS) max. with no need to pay mamasan for such a quick ST. Enjoy HCMC, but shop around and shop smart.

I'll tell you how to get lay cheap ... in Saigon (hey I don't call SG HCMC because I am a Southerner.)
Be friend to any "Xe tho" drivers, ask them where to get lay and they will take you there with the cost of a long ride (~ 35,000) . I tried this and fucked a stunner for 100,000 . Amazingly, she did "fire and ice" which I just know only being offered in China thanks to a recent trip. I forgot the place as it is in the outskirt of SG and very hard to find.
I stayed in a hotel close to center of SG for 200,000/night owned by Korean called xxxx (I can't tell you). There were 2 policemen guarding cross the street. Thay continued watching the whole day and maybe night. So I tipped the bellboy to get girls for me. They did it for me free of charge but I did not have a chance to know how the girls looked like. Well, I fucked 2 girls like this, they both above average, in two days and each girl cost me $30 for 2 shots. The problem is you have to bargain hard to get what you want. They normally don't speak English at all.

Try the Maxim Club in 1st district. The club is owned by a Vietnamese-American musician. He plays there everynight. All the girls there are top notch. Hand picked by him. I'm very picky and I have to say that I haven't seen a bad looking one yet and I have been there many occasions. They all wear cocktail dresses or miniskirts. They don't get pay to work there. All their earnings come from tips and bang sessions. Hang out there for a night or two and tip them nicely. Once they get to know you and feel comfortable they will leave the club with you afterward. Be patient,the reward will indeed be very nice. All these girls are top quality. They can be models.
If you can't wait,go down a couple of blocks. On your right hand side there is a big hotel. Make a right on Mac Thi Buoi Street to Thang Long Hotel. Thang Long Hotel is on your left hand side as you're walking down. There's a guy there infront of the hotel with a sanwich cart. He's normally there between 7pm-4 am. Ask him discreetly. He doesn't want to get into trouble. He's been selling there for over 30 years so nothing that's going on in that area can pass him. Or have a translator ask him where to find girls. He'll ask one of the taxis or bikes to go get them for you. But tell him I sent you so he won't feel so awkward. Tell him you know me. He calls me "Cong Tu Bac Lieu" . And if you're hungry,have some of the sanchiches he sells, the best that I've ever eaten in Vietnam and the States. Also, if you get sanwiches make sure to tip him so he will put more meat in there and fresh not day old. Do not pay more than $30 (approx. 450,000 vd ) for an all nighter . Thang Long Hotel is guest friendly with a $5 charge and she must have an ID. It is for your protection. Don't go to the girl's place. You might get set up and robbed. I have seen it happened to tourists who don't speak the language.
Next to Thang Long Hotel is a bar. You can get those girls to leave too but they charge $100 plus bar fine. Don't ever pay those prices. Those girls mainly target unsuspecting Russians, French, and Americans(White boys). That is too much in Vietnam. For a 100 bucks, you can get the girls from Maxim Club with top quality. Trust me, once you go to that club you do not want any other girls. They deserve every penny of it. Along that street and around the corner there are also other bars with girls in them. The majority of them will want $100 because you're not Vietnamese.
Note: Do not pick up any girls on the streets nor any girls under 21. Most of them are strung out on heroine. Big cities, lots of drugs and deseases. And always use condoms unless you're way down south of the country where there are no tourists and the girls are not exposed to foreingers with deadly deseases such as HIV.
