Mekong Delta Questions:
I am going to be coming down the river from Phenom Penn by boat and staying in Chau Doc. I have heard this is a pretty cool place so am staying 2 nights there. Then I plan to bus it to Can Tho and stay there 1 night. Then take the boat from Can Tho to Saigon.
I guess my questions are how does this itineary sound? This would be more in the interest of things to do and see versus pure mongering. I figure if mongering happens so be it. If not I could use the mid trip break anyway.
I have heard Can Tho is a regular ugly city thus the 1 night. But I figure I can use these 2 cities as a basis for mini tours and checking them out.
Would you add or delete these 2 cities? Thanks for any info on Mekong area. I read through threads and theres not much info.
I wanted to add my two cents worth on Dalat. The earlier posts seemed to talk about Golf 1 Hotel being near the central Dalat Market, Cho Da Lat. That is not correct information. The Hotel he was speaking of is the Golf 3 Hotel, where you can stand out front in the courtyard and see Cho Dalat. Indeed, the Sauna and Steambath and Gym are up on the 7th floor in the Golf 3 Hotel. The quality of the girls isn't so hot. Funny thing, I noticed here in Dalat, the women are not fond of Make-up. Riki, Please don't dis this forum for not having much on a particular city. Dalat is a honeymoon haven for the Viets. Not much going on there so not much to report. The simple answer is that there are not many posts about Da Lat because there is very little action there. It is very much a BYO kind of town. Not sure about honeymooners but I know a lot of Guys from Saigon go there for a weekends golf and take there own.
