Ahhh Bluenose, I don't know about the "best man" stuff. I don't believe that for one stinking minute. I think it was probably more a matter of convenience for her, with me being there a lot more often (like every weekend for example).

Even with the relationship I have (or I think I have), NEVER lose sight of who you both really are. It could end any time for any reason and to not believe that would be naieve. As much as I like her, There is a cultural gap that is sometimes a barrier too.

I think when the "Real" Adela finally emerges, I'll have an honest assessment because for now she's still caught up in the conveniences of her new life with a gringo. I've long since past the point of considering any relationship with a girl as "long term." My attitude now is that I'm prepared to walk away at any time with no more hurt feelings.

Americans have a different take on the "propina" system. They don't understand it. The girls don't mind and they capitalize on it, that's why they love to see them part the curtains. It's really bad here in TJ.
