I have just dropped all my reports from my Thai adventure in the Thai section.

Try Mode travel they are all over Seoul and you should be able to find a location near you. Also you can go to Top Travel in Gwanhwamun. They are really cheap that is there whole raison d'etre. Anyway whatever you do dont go to any travel agents in Itaewon they will rip you off big time!

Were any other mongers there this morning around 7:00.

As I was going up stairs I heard a customer enter that spoke in english " The beer man is here" No accent that I could detect i.e. european or foreign or southern.

I didn't get a chance to see his face.

Even if I probably visit Miari soon again, it was not me 'the beerman'.
Wonder how much busy they are at 7:00h in the morning.
My usual time is 21-24:00h, or somtimes a little later, but reading about the raids, I probably need to change my time. Do it this time,as I usually come by Subway and leave by Taxi. Last time at 0:30h about 4 weeks ago it was rather busy and many shops were in full opertaion, even in the back alleys and 2nd/ 3rd row.

I went to Miari today at around 7:15 pm.

I am not sure that the place will stay alive and well foor a long time

I took the entrance with the plastic curtain at exit 10. Went all the way down to the end of the alley which reaches a normal road. Went back from there through a second alley which lead back to the Gireum station.

1. As there still was some daylight I could notice that quite a number of rooms were completely abandoned with their cutains off and aplenty of litters on the floor.
2. 30 meters before reaching the road at the end of the alley there lied rubbles. Apparently they are tearing down the district.

2. Of course there are still some lit places with the girls in their white dress and rooms with their curtains on and the mamasans in front, but the fact is that is place is soon to disappear.

3. Mamasans are still active proposing agassi but the whole ambiance was not so nice. I cut short my visit without trying anything.

Hi guys,
as committed I was starting my Seoul activities again, after that great week in Thailand. More or less I was kicking myself, or better, I waited until my hydraulic pressure rose to a critical level. It took some time after Thailand. Being rock bottom empty and especially the mind set was not in the mute in the beginning.

Last week went to Itaewon, checking the hill, but there was nothing to be worth for investing money. Ok hard if you still have not lost your Thai dreams and probably a bit unfair. But I was there around 22:00h and even if there were almost no customers interested, they rather stayed more in the bar then outside, not doing the typical motivation to bring you in for a drink. Only a few tried ‘little’. So I stayed with the normal bars with mainly Expat and US visitors. Then went down the hill and went to the potential freebee pickups (normal bars) on the bottom if Itaewon street. But didn’t arrange any and didn’t really try hard. Not in the mute and left about 0:30h.

This Saturday, means yesterday I finally headed to Miari for a check up of the situation. Haven’t been there now for about 6 weeks. Went around 20:30h, so rather early for Miari clock.
One thing was changed obviously: When entering the first curtain after the exit 10 of Gireum station, usually the shops in this row had open windows showing their girls. But this time all shops were closed. Not any shop showed their girls. Probably more caution about potential raids. The area therefore was even darker looking then previously. But life is there and as the area is huge there are enough shops in operation. It seems like there's a few RLDs in Seoul but not all are foreigner-friendly. Can anyone give me some tips on where to go and what the "system" is? Also what are the alternatives to the RLDs, e.g. massage places, "in call" services etc. Any helpful information would be much appreciated.

Does anyone have info on reliable non-Korean's that are up for straight pay-for-play action (especially Filipinas)?

You can find pretty much any info you want by searching the forum for "588," "Miari," or "Yongsan" for RLD info. "Itaewon" will give you info on the GI bar area where you can find action as well. "Anma" will lead you to posts on massage places.
