Can anyone tell me the best way to travel from the HK airport to the Empire hotel Wanchai taking into consideration both the hassle factor and also prices? It looks like there is an MRT station closeby maybe?
I will be arrivng at 20:15 P.M. on a Sunday if that makes any difference.

I always just take the Airport Express, then a taxi, especially if I have heavy bags with me. I do think though there's a bus shuttle that stops right at the hotel as I've taken it on my way back to the airport, but it takes a lot longer I think about 1.5 hours. I've never taken this bus from the airport to the hotel I'm afraid so i can't tell you where to pick it up.

Buy an octapus card at the arrivals hall and then take your pick. Metro or bus.

1. Call the hotel and they will tell you how to get there easily.
2. There are many Airport buses. Buses take Hong Kong dollars only.
Change currency at the airport or use ATM. It is cheaper but slower.
3. Metro does not go to the Airport. Only Airport express goes to Airport.
You can take Airport express train.
Taxi from the Airport is expensive but for short distances it is cheap.

5. For Wanchai, Take airport express to Central (Last) station. Take MTR to Wanchai (2 stops). Airport express takes only 20 minutes and it is 100 hong kong dollars the last time I checked.

Please note that there is a free shuttle bus from the airport express to all the major hotels and also the Empire hotel. (take the H1 bus, not the H2 one which does not go to Empire)
You just need to get off the airport express Central station and you're at the queue for this free shuttle bus.
Service hour though is only 06:12 to 23:12 (20 minutes interval) and thus don't know if you can make it. If not, the taxi rank with a ton of taxis lining up to get passengers is also there and it should not take you more than HK$30/US$4 to get to Empire Hotel.
If you want an even cheaper way, (and a bit of sightseeing on the way!) its by the aiport bus #A11 from the ground floor of the airport, and it costs HK$40 (20-25 minute interval). Make sure you have exact change or else buy an octopus card upon arrival which you can use whilst in Hong Kong for lots of things including 7-11, starbucks etc and of course all the public transport - one of the best and most convenient card in the whole world IMHO.
Get off at stop #9 which is Luard road on Hennessy road - and you're a block or so away from the Empire hotel and will take you less than 80 minutes depending on traffic.

Thanks everyone. Can't say I"m not still a bit confused with the differing suggestions. Ha. Someone did tell me SE Asian Joe's suggestion of the #A11 was the way to go as it will stop a block away from my hotel.
If all else fails, I'll just hail a taxi apparently.

I highly suggest against taking any type of bus from the airport. It takes much longer than the Airport Express train.
I think you are talking about the Sands Sauna, diagonally opposite the Jordan MTR station. It's another alternative for K Pressure and 37 Dundas plus it has the additional massage session for those who like a massage and FS.
The setup reminded me of those in Macau but smaller scale due to the expensive land price/rent in HK. I went there yesterday evening and there were not that many people. The total damage was HK$868 for me which was higher than your quote. May be you have discount coupon. Am I correct? After the deed, etc., you could relax in their lounge and order something to eat and watch TV. Worth a try IMHO.

Quickest and middle price way to get to Empire is Airport express $100 then taxi direct to hotel $30. Forget the free shuttle to all the hotels and waiting for others to get on and off the bus. A11 bus would be good but you could easily miss the right stop, I enjoy sitting on the top deck and taking in the view.
No time to waste on a Sunday when you have Wanchai humming with maids on their day off, busiest time is 5-6pm and a good chance of a freebie.
Empire is an excellent hotel choice. Have fun.
Just did this trip, and if it has not been said enough..... Lockart Road is one of the last stops for the Airport Bus. Not the way to go. Take Airport Express Train to Hong Kong Station (Aprox $170HK roundtrip and 22 minutes) short cab ride to Lockart and Hennesy. You'll be in the action in no time.

Last time that I visited HK, I recall seeing a number of market traders down in the vicinity of Temple Street who specialised in the sale of sex toys etc. Anyone bought from any of these stalls and can give any info on quality, prices etc?
Also cannot recall whether they do uniforms and lingerie (split crotch knickers and the like).
Particularly after a nurses uni to take back to adorn my honeyko's in the Philippines:D.
Any help would be appreciated.

Try some of the factory outlet stores in Wanchai (Johnston Road) for interesting panties. You may have to go into a few of these stores to find the right one, but some of them have. I think there is one in the computer market on 298 Hennessy Road in Wanchai. There is also one in the big Arcade in TST on Nathan Road, to the left of Holiday Inn.
Recently I was in Sham Shui Po, near the Golden Computer Shopping Center and saw one. Prices were lower there than the others. As you come out of the MTR nearest Golden Shopping Center turn left along the road that runs along the Center. After a few doors you will see to your left more computer shops inside an old building. Go in and up to the second floor. Look around. There is one big computer shop and lots of little shops selling crappy Asian porn. In one corner is the one selling toys. They seemed about half the price of the others. Plus you can get your cheap computer supplies across the street!

Lots of locals don't tip at all. But what it could be is, as I understand it, that this system of paying the girls a commission on the lady drinks is not legal. So the bars try to keep it very low key. The male customers are not supposed to know. If they tell the customers, they are often ejected. One time I was with a newbie in Neptune and had purchased a few drinks for her. When I was about to leave I asked if she had gotten her commission coupons. She had not and did not know how the system worked. I explained it to her and then asked the waiter for her chit. He got very angry and started yelling at her in Tagalog. Another waiter brought her the cash, and asked her to leave.
I had always known that this system was supposed to be kept secret from the male customers but had not realized how angry they get when the trust is violated. And, to show how serious it is, I am quite sure that the paying of these commissions was one of the reasons given for closing Fenwick (the other being cocain).
So I would suggest that if the girl you are with is not getting them, you have her ask the waitress discreety and in Tagalog or Bahasa, which ever works for them and the watress, to explain the system. Since my first run in this has always worked.
