I make a point of being nice to the mamasans. If one of them approaches me after I've been sitting for a while and asks if I want to BF a girl, often I ask the mamasan if she'd like to sit with me and have an LD. I'll flirt with her a little and then tell her what kind of girl I'm looking for and ask who she recommends. She'll point out a girl and ask if I like her. If I say yes she'll call the girl over. Usually the mamasan will stay for a while after the girl comes over. When I offer to buy the girl an LD I might ask the mamasan if she's like another drink. If I really liked the girl and go back to BF her on another night, I'll find the mamasan, though usually she'll already have found me, and slip her 100 baht, with a thank you. Frankly, I don't know if all of this is necessary. Maybe I'd get a good recommendation regardless, but I'm pleased with the recommendations I get and just like the girls remember a good tipper, many of the bar staff remember me the next time I come in. As an example, I did this in Rainbow 1 in June 2014 and got an excellent recommendation. When I went back in late November some of the staff recognized me and made me feel very welcome.
I think this is an excellent strategy (being nice and chatting to the mamasans and asking them for advice on girls if unsure). I have been in situations where I wanted to BF 2 girls, and the mamasan told me to go with 1 girl as she apparently had more popularity and was a better performer as per the clients. I also have bought the mamasan a LD on occasion, and was also able to negotiate a lower BF in a few situations where it was very expensive. But, I guess the LD offset the cost of the discount. All in all, the mamasans for the most part know which girls are good performers, have fewer complaints, and better attitudes so it does not hurt to befriend them and use them for certain situations.
Who gave you that weird idea? I was in Soi Cowboy at Songkhran and all bars were in full swing as from the early afternoon. Same same for the massage shops in Sukhumvit Soi 23.
It is true that many girls go to the family upcountry but that still leaves enough girls to last you a lifetime of f*ing.
The atmosphere is different from the other days and it is more a holiday kind of thing, but rest assured that these girls will still go with you if they can make a quick buck.
I am hoping to get more clarity on the April 13-15 holiday thing. I am taking my friend to Thailand and this is his first trip, arriving Saturday and on to Vietnam on Tuesday. Hotel is paid for in full for the three days, non-refundable. Potentially we could flip weekends and fly to Vietnam straight away and spend the following weekend in Bangkok. Changing flights and the hotel booking is a bit of a hassle, but our plan is it see it all that Bangkok has to offer that weekend in a full swing, dance clubs, BJ bars, soapies, nana / soy / etc What do you think? I don't want to end up in anything like Christmas eve in the State type of situation.
And not sure what to make out of all the water throwing activities, doesn't sound like my cup of tea

The important detail

Last stop of the evening was Tilac. Nice place and quite a few pretty girls. The girls also wear miniskirts with no underwear (as a concept) in there. So I sat having fun with a couple of girls, who repeatedly had show me they were indeed not wearing anything underneath. Funny thing was that every time I went to the mens room, I was escorted back and forth and not allowed to stop and gaze at the girls dancing on stage. But in the end I did the unthinkable and asked another girl from the stage to come to my table. She had a great body, nice ass and a pair of surprisingly large boobs for a thai girl. As well as a nice smile, so I couldn't resist. The girls I had been sitting with of course got a bit upset, but I tipped them a 1000 bht each which seemed to ease their pain a little. Anyhow, soon after I paid the bar fee for the "new" girl and left. After she had changed clothes, she was wearing a slim dress, and I could feel that she was wearing nothing underneath. I liked that.
Back in my hotel I got a good BBBJ and fucked her in several positions so I could admire her great body. Waking up early in the morning we had a second round after which I paid and sent her on her way back home.
Your report was good, but you left out the most important part.
What was the barfine and what was the tip?

Bangkok Beat
I frequent Bangkok Beat nightclub on SOI 7/1 as it is close to my apartment and they have several fun bands playing nightly. It is also a popular FL spot with many girls on most night. Nearly all will tell you they work for a salon. Not much imagination as you would think someone might say they work in an office environment for variety but virtually they all say salon when I ask their work.
I see many of the same girls night after night and some do quite well pulling at least one guy almost nightly. Two popular girls who I went with (and it was lousy) always seem to find a client. Sometimes, I feel like warning the guy. LOL.
However, there are some rare birds who come in there who are not on the clock. Last weekend, I met a girl towards closing time who had seen me there before. After dancing and hanging out for a while, she indicated that she wanted to go with me. I said OK but I have no money to pay you. This was partially true because my three prior experiences with girls here have been marginal at best and did not want to expend funds for another waste of time. Anyway, she agreed and devoured me in my apartment and again in the morning. Never asked for money when she left so found a freebie and one of the best shags so far in Bangkok. She is still texting me but not blowing up my phone. Funny, but says her occupation is with a salon too.

Nana parking lot
Wanting to hit all my bucket list items before leaving Bangkok, I perused the Nan street parking area a few nights ago. Most girls are not all that attractive and some LB's in mix though fairly obvious. However, I saw a nicely dressed and pretty girl so stopped to talk with her. Much to my surprise, she spoke excellent English as she told me that she used to work for a hotel in Chang Mai.
She said that she just came from Pattaya where her sister lives who is expecting a baby. I asked why she did not dance in go go etc. And said she preferred her independence. Quickly got down to business as she wanted 1500 bhat for ST. She offered kissing, DATY, BBBJ. And condom with FS. Liked her style and English command so off we went to my apartment. When we arrived, she complained about cleanliness of my apartment and washed my dishes after sex.
It was quite good and a real enthusiastic root. She enjoyed looking at herself at my full length mirror on closet doors next to bed. Great 69 and reverse sitting cowgirl admiring herself in mirror. Not a perfectly toned body and some indication of future cellulite but nice shaped breasts and very pretty. But it was nice to be able to communicate fully in English. Her stage name is Bella and sometimes she wears fashion braces.
Also, she told me an odd story that she had almost made enough money to buy a condo in Pattaya.
But was 300 K bhat short of her goal. Even showed me the photo of this condo she wants to purchase and compared my flooring to the flooring in this condo.

What was the barfine and what was the tip?
The barfine is bound to be 700 baht as is normally the case. What he paid is not important because depends on his generosity which is very evident from the 1K tips.
I know a very nice girl who used to work Hot Lips and now at Tilac. Its probably a different girl. The good girls that are also pretty and good bodies can be worth following from one bar to another, since they are somewhat rare.

http://www.bangkok.com/information-festivals/songkran.htm
Sean, believe me, Bangkok or Pattaya during Songkran must be avoided at all costs. As a long term monger in the LOS I have decided never to be in town at this time. I just hate being hit with dirty water from a bucket or even a big water pistol while simply trying to go about my own business. Sometimes it is white powder as well that is thrown at you.
By far the most annoying aspect is the large number of farangs that join in believing that they are participating in the cultural life of the country. It's not their culture and they are just boosed up pains in the arse.
If you must be there at this time, carry nothing of value with you and try to spend as little time outdoors as possible. I think the bars hate this time as well as they must put plastic covers over their electronic devices such as TYs ets. Custmer numbers are also down for obvious reasons. Most expats leave town for the duration.
But, if it's the only time you have got to visit the LOS, I suppose it's better than not being there at all.
Happy mongering,
Johnie.

What was the barfine and what was the tip?
Barfine was 600 bht, which seem to be the going rate at Cowboy these days.
I paid her 3500 bht as a tip (ie. LT). Going rate is between 3000 and 4000 for long time.
A tip for people with less experience in BK: For the best GFE, shy away from girls who name a price already at the bar. You can be almost certain it will be a mechanical thing.
If you do ask them, and the answer is "up to you" and smile, then you have probably picked a winner. The best girls do, however, expect you to know the price and not talk about it.

Actually, I asked the Nana parking lot girl from today's report why she did not go there to find guys and she mumbled something about too many LB"s, though I never noticed all that many and did not fiully understand her comment. Maybe she thought I was talking about another place? However, they are there and I have seen a few. Well, they are everywhere in Bangkok.

Hilton Sukhumvit
Not sure if this is the forum or it should be in the Bangkok hotel section. But I have been making a search in both. I just registered to stay in the Hilton Sukhumvit for my upcoming stay. From what I read most of the Bangkok hotels are GF. Though I could not find something specific on the Hilton Sukhumvit.
Could one of the locals please confirm this Hilton is GF? Many thanks.
Also where could I find a map showing some of the local spots to visit. Nana, Bier Garten. Etc?
I read that the Sukhumvit are is the right place to be. Was I correct?
Many, Many thanks. I have been reading the pages of the forum, perhaps I missed this info.
Once again thanks!!

Some travel advice
Folks,
I realise this may sound like I am a total douchebag but I did RTFF and googled as much as what is possible living in a country where google is blocked. Still I made a promise and need rather short -term get to LOS with my GF.
Now my last visit is 20 years ago and my old strategy book a hotel for the first nights and then prolonge or find something else or move on seems to not work at all anymore. Most online provider require long time upfront booking and pre-payment?! Is it still possible to find decent hotels when you are onsite in Bangkok? And does this also apply for train tickets and hotels in other places like say Chiang Mai etc? Or are you completely fucked with outrageous walk in prices these days?
Any help would be appreciated also via PM. I will book a hotel near Siam Square / Sukhumvit to start with so I can use the BTS to sneak away for the mongering fun, so my only question is how to best book hotels / domestic flight or train tickets when you are already in Bangkok. Is there a good local travel site or reasonable travel agency? I just do not know what we will like to do and booking in advance from China has proven a nightmare.
Thanks for the help and if I manage to get fun FR is promised, check my posting history outside Thailand.
