Helpful! I did manage booking most hotels mainly via bookingdotcom, reasonable deals and often no full prepay required, often with some cancellation possibilities 5 to 7 days in advance. Not perfect but workable. Used Ctrip for the rest but it is a nightmare as they have different systems and prices on iPhone, iPad and PC. Theiphone version is Chinese only but seems to use agoda for I ternational bookings, small tip if you are able to book on the Chinese language ones do that, much better prices. On the PC do your search in English, log in and then switch to Mandarin and voila you save a lot. They accept foreign credit cards.

In general short term booking is still a possibility but the good old backpacker days are gone. Miss that a lot.

I will do a report if I can sneak away for partaking and will report.

If your taste is for the more mature ladies, the bus stops on Charoen Krung, opposite Soi Texas, normally has a number of ladies looking for business.

The other pick up areas in Chinatown are along Thanon Maitri Chit and Thanon Mit Phan. These are pretty good almost any time of day or night.

Short time hotels are plentiful, but many are complete flee-pits. I would reccomend either the one adjacent Texas massage or The Tai Pei in Thanon Mit Phan.

The value for money in BKK is quite poor, especially in the GoGos. 100 USD for 15 min of sex is a rip off. Back when it cost you less than half that, a short sesh was almost ok.
