Wherever I take her in the PH or elsewhere in SEA she always orders filipino food, or something close to it. The fact that the Jolly Bee's spaghettis with ketchup is the favorite dish in the world for the filipinas, tells you a lot.
This year I took the GF to a Cellebrity X Cruise, with the finest buffets in the world, way better than Las Vegas, and from the plethora of foods all she was getting was rice and chicken, or pork, not even the slightest interest in sampling anything else, didn't matter that you can just touch it and leave it if you don't like it, and she's a university graduate, I don't even want to tell you what happened with some other girls that I had as travel companions in the past.
I hate the fish sauce, I used to be married to a vietnamese, and everything she cooked had copious amounts of fish sauce in it, she was an excellent cook, knew how to make a million different dishes, but the damn fish sauce found its way in everything. Half of our pantry was full of fish sauce bottles, you have to understand my adversity to it, I do eat stuff that has it already in it, but I'm not going to add it on my own free will to nothing.

It doesn't compare to the SG, ML, TH and ID food that I like so much.
If I was to move out here semi permanently, then my old bachelor cooking skills would have to be brought back to life.

G.[/QUOTE]I'm simple, if I like something, I can eat the same thing for a week, so I eat what she cooks, or what's on the menu in the simple local restaurants, but once in a while I need something other than frayed stuff. Fresh veggies are nonexistent in the PH cuisine, only boiled or frayed, if I make a lettuce or a tomatoes salad she won't really touch it, if we go to the restaurant and there is a small fresh veggies garnish on her plate, it's automatically transferred to my plate, but she says that she loves veggies (probably the ones in the sinigang). I don't know how the whole nation gets their intake of vitamins, and all this gorgeous girls come into existence, considering the fact that pork is the "national vegie". When I go to the market I always go late because, everybody buys the green and yellow unripe tomatoes, and the ripe red ones are left behind, easier for me to pick. Lots of strange things, but I'm not complaining, only observing.

Seoul, had been here on several occasions but every time I'm back I am wowed, spotlessly clean city, every thing super modern, people polite, ready to help, food, drinks, snacks generally 100% more expensive than Angeles, probably the reason koreans throw their money around in the bars of angeles because angeles seems much cheaper to them than home.
Stayed at the lotte hotel seoul executive tower, super nice place (100% recommended) some people claim that angeles abc hotel is 5 star and luxury but in truth even the abc top suites are so far behind compared to the lotte in every way at similar costs.
Korean girls, all one can say is wow, just so many good looking young girls every where, the hotel reception staff, waitresses, mall staff, bank staff were all just stunning, they just don't produce many girls of this quality in the phills.
Bangkok, what can one say, I just love returning to this city, fantastic food for half the price of the crap they serve in Angeles, hotels like for like are half price in Bangkok compared to angeles, beer prices about the same as angeles.
The thai girls are generally so much slimmer, taller, lighter skinned, well dressed and generally much prettier than their pinay cousins, many say yes but pinays speak English, well news is that so do many thai girls, especially those Thai girls that spend large amounts of time around foreigners, in truth angeles just cannot be compared to Bangkok or pattay on any front, can't wait till my next thai trip in all honesty.[/QUOTE]Thailand my fave but it's on a downward trajectory. The salad is topped with julienne sliced yellow and light green peppers. Peppers are not my favorite at all. So I set them aside from my salad. I have had this salad over a dozen times. After reading your post about green and yellow tomatoes I wondered if maybe these peppers are tomatoes? Sure enough they are! Not bad but I do prefer ripe red tomatoes. I guess the yellow and green tomatoes are firmer and have a snap to them like the peppers do. That maybe why the preference.

I'm generally one never to complain about food in a restaurant. I just won't return. However, on a recent rip to Boracay, and in the need of a red meat fix, I said to the barman / waiter, "That would have to have been the toughest steak I've had in 50 years".
(Even the street dog sitting under the table agreed).

Probably in a place frequented by foreigners.

As long as men want sex and women are willing to sell it, it will exist. Red light districts may fade in some places, but freelancers abound anywhere. You just have to learn where they are.
I think it's actually on the increase where I live in the US. I've been clued in to the escort scene for a few years and have made good friends with a couple of them, and more independents are visiting the area. Prices are $400+ for an hour. At the same time, the state is considering decriminalizing prostitution and are currently only pursuing to rescue victims of trafficking. AMPS are in the open. Cost is $210-$220 for 45 - 60 minutes and 1-2 pops. Younger Chinese and Koreans (in their 20's) can be had BBFS for $300/ HR. Higher than the Philippines, for sure, but much closer. And after lady drinks and bar fines and reports of most girls being short time in Angeles, it really isn't much difference except the girls at the AMP service there and not at your hotel.
For me, the Philippines is more about the difference and adventure of being in a different country. Outside of Manila and Angeles, prices are much cheaper and girls are more genuine and give better service, even if a little bit shy (see "Other Areas" forum). There is no way I would go to the Philippines and stay in Manila or Angeles for the same service I can have an hour from where I live.

The ubiquity of smartphones means almost any girl can get simps in richer countries to send money for simply telling a few hard luck stories, or sending a few pics.
Also, birthrates are falling in many countries meaning fewer young women.
In Angeles the barfine price has almost doubled in 6 years (3k > 5-6k). And quality has gone down.

But that doesn't mean that the market will be efficient, and that transactions will occur that mutually benefit both parties.
It won't be like the glorious past. When you could go to nightclubs like HELP, compounds like Campo Alegre, or beach parties like Pattaya, and find numerous options for reasonable, or at least, minimally painful expense. When you could walk around a room or poolside, surrounded by beautiful ladies, and the "big decision" of the day was "blonde, brunette, or redhead?" And may I add, in relative safety. And they were happy with the transaction. When you could take a week off, fly somewhere fun and exotic, and return refreshed.
It's not happening all at once. There are still patches here and there. Its why I decided on a trip to AC this winter. Not because I think it will rock my world, but rather, because it may soon disappear.
Its like global warming. You know its happening. In smaller bits at first, then slowly building. Now with 5 hurricanes to hit Florida in 2 years. The summers getting longer and hotter each year.
The number of good venues around the world is slowly, but surely shrinking. I think at a faster rate since COVID.
