After now more then ½ a year here in Seoul it was time to get some more experience.
Wanted to have a Barbershop experience for the first time.

Freebee (?) scene and potential scams
Last Saturday went to Itaewon, not necessarily to monger, but ging to some of the bars heavily frequented by foreigners and English speaking Koreans. Those are e.g. Gekkos and Helios, but other bars as well.
Basically it is possible to pick up freebees there, the girls are ready to dance with everybody and really open to talk who ever it is. However scoring at one day may be not so easy, so the first day you might be already successful to just get a phone number.
It could take some weeks to score there probably (as average, but not excluding that it is not possible in one night). Didn’t really try it, more watched the scene. In addition basically approachable are expat family members on search of some friends, love not excluded. But also here you get a long path for some weeks to be able to score. Again, didn’t practice really.
Be aware of some girls, who are in contract with some scam bars. Some girls you are talking to after some time in the bars might suggest to go somewhere else, probably giving you decently some ‘hope’. Be alarmed if the girl makes the selection of bar.
I recommend to study the menu card. Usually it does not look bad. Beer is priced between 4-5000 Won, so rather normal, as well as softdrinks. But specially check whine and cognac they might be priced 20 kWon a glass for wine and the cognac glass 40kWon. If your girl exactly wants wine or cognac, you know that you are on a scam. Probably you can accept 1 round, but I wold rather make sure to close the session almost immediately. The glass of wine will not be more then 5ccl and the girls might ask you for a bottle probably soon, which then could count up to some 200-600 kWon, without any outlook to score the girl.
This never happened to me, but some of our company visitors had been trapped that way, suddenly been confronted with a bill of e.g. 700-1000 kW.
So be aware. Golden rule: If you go to another place with a girl, then it should be you to define the location. If the girl insists on her proposal, you are on a scam, and then better forget it.

After Skguy’s information, I could not hold me, checking the place out by myself.
Went there about 21:00h. About 50% of shops open.
However I can not confirm Skguy’s information. The scenery was as usual. As a foreigner you are widely ignored while passing by (the main roads). Some carefully close the door that you don’t occasionally ask them.
However I had the feeling that with some self approach some girls probably at least talk to you. But my Korean is not yet ready for communication.
