Using Credit Cards Online
I have posted before about this.
Like many others, I had a lot of trouble buying tickets for Cebu Pacific online. I would try 3 cards, and sometimes one would work.
Because of the pattern of failures, I became suspicious of the card itself.
So next time I was home, I went to the bank and asked the teller to show me the information they have on my card. I was stunned.
Despite the fact that I am careful filling out forms, whoever it was who keyed my info into the computer had made errors. They also made abbreviations, got the abbreviation for my state wrong, and had errors in my mailing address. Also, the teller did not know the correct name for this bank. The commonly used name is ANZ. The teller assured me that this is the correct name for the bank. But the correct name for the bank is actually Australia and New Zealand Bank Limited.
I had her correct the errors, then I wrote down all of the information on the screen.
Now whenever I make a purchase it is approved every time.
So if you are having troubles, do the same.

Only Take Trikes When Absolutely Necessary
100P to go the 100 meters from Jollibee to SM is one of the worst abuses I've heard, but even the locals get fleeced by the Trike Mafia. Take jeepneys and walk to avoid giving a Piso to these cunts. If your girl is too lazy to walk it is unlikely she has a toned body anyway.
Taxis in AC are the biggest rip in the PI also; 300P from the airport for a ride taht would cost 50 in Manila, Cebu, Davao etc. That rip off is harder to avoid (unless you REALLY want to wait until a jeep fills at airport), gut except for trips with luggage and away from Balibago (or if a MAJOR rainstyorm) no reason to use the trikes ever.

I rang Cebu Air myself in PI and they could not get the charge to go through either and they did not need all the details the website asked for. Made me wonder if the information is superflous. I also have an ANZ card and tried the extended name combination you suggested and used the same billing address on my statement including the errors. It did not work.
In the end, I booked with Cebu agent Met Tours based in Singapore. It was about 20% more than online price and I had to go to the bank to wire them the money, but I figured, Singapore was the least corrupt of countries listed on Cebu. Ask for Stu, he handles all the Cebu Air bookings.

Their service fee is Php600.
I shuddered at the alternative to Cebu Pacific, which would have been to fly a full service airline via Incheon, or maybe adding hours to travel and transit via Air Asia for no less money wise.
CP has huge problems with processing overseas cards, they know it, their agents all know it and a lot of other travel blogs have said the same.
Hopefully, tougher economic times might get some one there to pull their head out of their ass and fix the problem as I'm betting they are probably losing some sales as a result, and aircraft loading % start to drop.
My Phils trip report - day 5 (Nov. 6) - continued from the Manila thread
