Dubai Reports

There are many nuggets of wisdom in the recent reports, as a new Dubai official ‘resident’ I can relate to all of them. The girls know exactly the right questions to ask and once they know you live in a nice apartment, on your own, you’re then in a different league. Up to you of course as to whether you want to mix your domestic life with pleasure but it suits me down to the ground. The last three girls who’ve gone home with me haven’t dictated the price, just ‘pay me what you want’, I gave them 500 dhs all night and they were more than happy. Girls were from Jockeys, Ramada (upstairs disco) and for a bit of variety the African night club at the Ramee Hotel in Deira. I try and avoid York – its even more of a meat market than ever now.

Yes you have to be careful with girls you take home, they can get very settled ‘at home’, doing the washing up and cooking you lunch is all very nice but. .

I know of guys who’ve developed good long term relationships with wg’s, and some who are now happily married to said ladies. Many of the PRC girls are very bright ex college girls, often in their mid thirties; they’ve had good jobs, they have a teenage son or daughter and then they’ve divorced or separated. Divorce is easy and quick in China, split the assets down the middle (those that haven’t been hidden away by the husband), then you’re on your own. No maintenance, no state support. Link that in with a non existent health service – Mum or Dad becomes I'll, no money then no hospital treatment, Mum or Dad dies. You can see the appeal of working – one hour of sex with a man you choose yourself in most cases = one months wages in China.

I also vouch for taking phone numbers of the very special girls and calling them back. I have to restrict it to the very special ones otherwise I’ve forgotten who was who the next day! Girls only get called back by perhaps one in ten men they leave their mobile numbers with – so if you are the one in ten you are again in a different league.

Treat the girls with respect, and why wouldn’t you?. And you’ll love every minute of it.

Am back in Dubai for the next 8 days and my schedule is looking monger friendly ;).

Anyway, I'm thinking that this time I may try and find a more engaging (personality wise) girl and do more of a LT (day or two) type of thing, complete with dinners/movies/stuff like that. My buddy comes into Vegas every few months and rents a girlfriend for the weekend and it always works out well for him (considerably more expensive in vegas!!!). I want to give it a shot. I mean, if I get tired of her at any point I can always just put her in a cab.

Next trip I'm actually bringing my girlfriend so hey, this will be like practice!

Any tips from those who have done this sort of thing before would be appreciated. My general approach is to hit the bars and try chatting up girls and finding a cool one who can do that, and doesn't cost a fortune.

I've been living in Doha for 4 months and going stir crazy (anyone who has been to Doha will understand why!)

I have never been to UAE and have decided to take a 4 day trip there soon.

I have narrowed it down to Dubai Creek in Dubai or Al Maha Rotana Abu Dhabi.

Yes I have RTFF but still not sure what would suit me.

Most seem to prefer Dubai? Is that true?

Like Jetjo below I was thinking of rent-a-girlfriend while I was there (obviously look for one that I click with). Don't care so much for different women every night.

Would Dubai be the better choice due to wider variety or are the Abu Dhabi girls less hardened and cynical?

I was at the Music Room, Tuesday, from 9:00 - 11:00. First time I'd been there. Was sitting up front, watching the band[b]S[/b], and wasn't bothering to look around behind me all that much. Why bother? 90/10 M/F ratio, no P4P.

[b]MY[/b] Impressions:[list][*]Music: The good news is, they start early. Walking in before 9pm, the "NOT the Rock Spiders" (NTRS) band was almost done with their SECOND set. After a short break, the Rock Spiders did their 1st set.

The bad news: As BC remarked, you'd think the bands were great IF you didn't know about the Seaview's band. They are the gold standard. The bands are better (from MY point of view) than the 'Snake's.

[list][*]The 1st band - call them NTRS, of their 2 sets I was there for, the 1st was a bit too "jazzy" for my tastes (YMMV). The leader's banter with the audience and band members could be grating/fun depending on your mood. He certainly was knowledgeable about music history (SteveStx: was it you who requested one from the James Gang?) Second set a bit more rock, and the female vocalist does have a voice, but a bit lacking in looks, and no harmony/eye candy as in Seaview.
[*]Rock Spiders are good, just not quite good enough... Solid rock, and a decent tune selection. But I'll stick with the Seaview's vocalists. And nothing comparable to the Seaview's bass player. The band lost 1 point with me for acknowledging my request but not playing it during the one set of theirs I saw. I understand they make it a big production number - remember from YEARS ago when they played the Music Box at the York - but still, with a rather sparse crowd and not that many requests coming in, I'd have expected them to do it. Maybe they played it later on, but I was long gone.

I also find the tag-teaming of the bands a tad annoying - especially given they have similiar repertoires...[/list]

[*]Food: I will say, they have a reasonable sized menu. In order to make a comparison, ordered a filet steak, like I do at Seaview. Must say, Music Room's was better - more sauce selections, and slightly better sides (suggest not going for the baked potato - makes a nice change but it had to be one of the smallest potatoes I've seen - certainly NOT from Idaho).


[*]Service: The antitheses of the York. I thought I was going to have to light a signal fire to get my 1st drink order in. It's a bar, not a restaurant - I can start my drinks WHILE I look at the menu. Even with the loosely packed crowd (plenty of space to move/see), it was hard to find a waitress, and I don't think I was ever asked if I'd like another drink. I thought I'd asked for one, but after 15 minutes of waiting for it to appear, figured maybe the waitress didn't understand, just taking the empty can, so had to tackle another to get the order in. Felt like the 3 bears: York-this one's too pushy, Music Room-this one's too cold, Seaview-just right.


[*]Bar snacks: Well, better than the 'Snake where I've never gotten any. Music Room did offer beer nuts. However, compared to the popcorn, carrots, cucumbers, nuts of the Seaview...

[*]Room: Music Room is a big bar, almost 3 times the Seaview's size, more floor space than the 'Snake, slightly smaller than the York. With less of a crowd, and NOT low ceilings, air remained breathable. Poor engineering design: several pillars down the CENTER of the room serve to block clear view of the stage and obscure views across the bar (though will be of comfort to the people on the floors above).


[*]Crowd: As SteveStx said, 90% male. MIGHT be OK to bring a "date" from another bar, but given the lack of women, be prepared to be an attraction for the other customers. 4 or 5 africans total, spread around the bar, sitting QUIETLY either solo or 2 together, certainly working, but did not see any CIS or PRC's. Even Jockey's would have more potential.

It would be "wife safe": "Why are you late coming home from work?!?! "Stopped off at the Music Room for a drink." "Oh, OK."[/list]

All in all, I couldn't figure out who the target audience is for the place.[list][*]Punters? From what I've heard, quantities of wg's not allowed, so while there is less trouble from LE, certainly the punter crowd is also eliminated. [*]Civilian couples? I'd think more upscale places for a night out. [*]Hotel quests? Maybe, but the mainly male crowd might put couples off.[*]Cheers style? It's a LARGE bar - would have to draw a LOT more customers to reach party "critical mass". Now understood BC's post of "even on a Thursday, not being bumped".[*]Conversationalists? Well, wouldn't be a bad place to get together to share a couple of drinks with friends, except for the fact that the sound system ovewhelms even talk across the SMALL table. OK, when the band plays, but the dj's tunes... Guess he doesn't consider himself background filler during the band changes.[*]Alcoholics? My best guess - can get toasted surrounded by GUYS doing the same...[/list]
If you don't mind the loss of potential eye candy/possibility of an early score, pass on Jockey's, cross the street, and have a drink at the Music Room. Given the space and "not crowded", good place to meet up.

I will certainly be back. The food menu is good, so an early stop for some food, with a live band playing while you eat, before venturing out to more favorable hunting grounds.

I have been in the Music Room maybe 10 times since it moved over from the York and would agree with a number of 11Bravo's comments. It is however less than a year since they moved venue as I remember during last summer's (freedom from missus) break venturing downstairs in the York to see the Rock Spiders after timeout did a backstreet bar feature with them in.

I particularly agree that the banter of the 1st bands leader can get very irritating. I even sent up a request once for him to stick to the guitar and let the girl do a bit more singing as she has a great voice. Funnily enough it was ignored.

I was in the place Wed and Thur last week and caught the 2nd set of the 1st band on the Wed. The jazz had all gone to be replaced with Floyd and other stuff I can't now remember. I really enjoy the Rock spiders and still consider them the best at what they do in Dubai. I have only seen the band in The Seaview once and that was after copious amounts of alchohol, so I will take a trip there tonight to reassess. However I do think the rock spiders are getting a bit samey. It's the same songs all the time and they don't play the real heavy stuff until much later. The buzz in the York bar was much better due to it's intimacy. The singers would walk past you at the bar after the set and shake your hand if they had seen you there before. The new Music Room is too big for that now.

The service has deteriated in the MR as it used to be excellent. Not sure why. As for number of WGs there are a few but as you say not many. On the Wed I bumped into a cute little PRC who I had met in the Rattlesnake the week before. She was there with her mate but no business so went elsewhere. I spoke to another WG about the place and she said Dhs 50 for girls so that's why they don't go. I also think that the hotel want to keep it more couple orientated. I have taken my wife there a number of times and it is the perfect excuse destination for a night out. I also know of other guys who like myself like to go and watch and listen to some good music without the "where you from" interjection every 2 minutes. Also now that York has zero live music. Please correct me if I am wrong. It is now even more of a cattle market than it used to be and there are not that many more decent live music venues.

The band in the Rattlesnake are also getting very tiresome and could do with changing. I am not homophobic but the lead singer gets on my nerves and I would willingly pay for a single ticket to Manila for him. Please get rid.

As for the Ratsky, I only heard about the place on here a couple of days ago. Is it worth a visit? The band in the Imperial suites seemed ok when i was in there early this year. May have to check them out tonight also.

11B you are being very cruel to AD unless Topeka is a decent place without the hassles, same nice looking ladies similar prices (if not cheaper at times) but still with its compliment of ugly PRCs.....

Some prefer AD Bandicoot others prefer the business in Dubai, the long time to get anywhere, the traffic jams but as 11B says come and try both.

AD is only an hour or so from Dubai. You will recognise you are there from the greenery, the trees, the fresh(er) air.....;)

Now that I am reading your points I realize it's very similar to what is happening to me. She comes over, stays the night, I go to work and she stays in bed.

A couple days ago when I came home she had cleaned the entire house...mopped floors etc...believe me I won't win any awards for neat.

I know she does live with a bunch of girls and I'm sure part of the appeal is the comfortable living environment.

Have been away from the club scene for quite a long time, so took the opportunity of my family being on holidays and decided to visit couple of clubs:
Headed to Jules Bar at le Meridien airport. 70AED entrance charge including two free drinks. Ordered a beer and started to look around for potential picks.
Ratio of M/F unfavorable probably 5/1. Mostly PRS non above average. Very few CIS girls all below average.
Left the place and headed to Regal. Entrance fee 100AED, no drinks.....Outrageous. Opted not to enter.
Visited Moscow hotel. One girl in the lobby and around 10 men. Again not a faovrable ratio.
Having heard that the lobby in the Fairmont hotel hosts some high end WG,s, decided to give it a try. Some morrocan girls would enter the lobby, look for potential customers then leave. All those I have seen were fat and ugly.
Finally called my "home delivery supplier". Sorry, we are fully booked for tonight she answers me.
