Woke up in Manilla around 10: am showered collected my stuff and checked out (Manilla Sucks) took Grab to NAIA Terminal 3 bay 14 was 420, Geneses bus to SM Clark was 4 something. Bus was crowded no spare seats. Trike to hotel from SM Clark was 150. Checked in got things settled in the room took a shower to rinse off went to Johnnys Supermarket to pick up a few things for the room. Returned collected all of my dirty laundry and my ATM card dropped my clothes off at the laundry near my hotel stopped at the ATM walked up in front of Phillies to see what the freelancer scene was like. Traffic around NAIA can suck bigtime. Were you already staying close to the airport or do you prefer the SM Clark drop off vs Dau?

Personally I stay in the Newport area or BGC. Travel from BGC or Makati isn't bad at all. Select a non peak travel time. To avoid NAIA T3 traffic get dropped off at the Newport side of the Runway / bridge way to T3. It is located right behind Belmont Hotel parallel to McDonalds. Walk the runway over and descend to Arrivals, Bay 14.

BTW, I use Genesis from SM to T3 and onward to parts of Manila. Bay 14 is so convient that I only book Cebu Pacific for flights within PH. Other airlines use different terminals which are a pain to get back to T3.

Although the months of December and January are the most pleasant and the most popular months to visit the Angeles area due to cooler weather and the least amount of rainfall its fair to point out that during the lead up to Christmas and well into the new year is the time when the cuter more popular higher earning bar girls leave town and head off to their home province for the holidays.

Many popular girls spoken to in xs bar, Madonna bar, gold moon bar and most of the other popular walking st bars the girls were taking the whole month off.

Many bars visited on last barhop of yesterday saw much lower girl numbers, most bars visited in general girl numbers were down by 30-50 %, its the better looking girls that earn well during the year that can afford to take the time off so its fair to say quality has dropped noticeably in most bars.

The whole town seems mighty quiet during the week for tourist numbers especially western tourists, what westerners are about are mainly older expats that live here.

Korean tourist numbers are also noticeably down during the week but come Friday Saturday and Sunday those Korean numbers swell by a large amount and the many korean oriented bars are fairly busy, many koreans because they are in town for just a few days tend to be spending fairly well with the normal routine of tabling multiple girls for drinks, making it rain and tipping the girls even some times without wanting to bar fine the girls.

AS with many past years a word of warning that the days leading up to Christmas will always see an increase in petty street crime due to the poor wanting more money to spend at Christmas, street pickpockets, jeepney pickpockets, street kids dipping pockets, drive bye snatching of bags, phones by passing pinoy scooter riders, take extra care is good advice during this period.

The week between Christmas and NYE is the second worst time to monger in the Philippines.

Holy Week is number one. Even girls with limited resources make an effort to go home for Easter with the family.

It should be noted that the month before both these times can be nirvana as many girls are desperate to earn extra cash for the expenses of a trip back home and all the pasalubong expected from well to do city girls. Even normally good girls can often be tempted to say thanks to generous guys.

I'm not sure why but I've never noticed that same attitudes/desperation when they return broke after the holidays seasons.

My first visit to AC / Balibago was 1996. I was mid 30's and from the moment I came to town it was like being a rockstar. Paid half the time only. Fast forward to almost 30 years later. Is the below really the state of things? Korean only girls. Only chubsters for the Western older guy? I'm now early 60's. But all girls in Thailand think I'm late 40's. I look young for my age. I'm not ugly or overweight.

I just left Bangkok after being there a year. Most girls want 3000 THB that are any good. I got tired of the city. Pattaya seems to be still an option but it is way to crowded for me now. It is not like it used to be in the late 90's. Even 2012 was pretty good but steadily got more crowded with punters overpaying right and left who just found what they think is paradise, never having experienced the times years ago.

So, please any comments as to the westerner mongering conditions in AC. I was thinking of going, now I'm getting discouraged. Long flight from west coast USA to CRK.

What gives? What's it really like? More trip reports please. Especially if you are like me.

I want to go directly to AC but am confused by all these T3, Bay 14. NAIA references. Is this Genesis bus the best way other than a private transport? If so, when I arrive where do I go to catch the bus at the airport? Do I need to buy a ticket in advance?
