Nobody left in town

Goodbye Pattaya! Almost everyone in the entertainment industry has left. Apartment complexes empty.

Thai media Siam Rath went down to Pattaya to investigate after the words "La Laew Pattaya" - Goodbye Pattaya. Were trending on Facebook site Pattaya Talk.
It appeared that everyone was loading their possessions onto pick-ups and heading back to the villages.
There were supportive comments but there was no hiding the abject depression.
Pattaya, once packed full of tourists and life especially in the high season is now deserted.
To confirm this Siam Rath went to the resort and saw that many apartment complexes were for sale or lease. Some didn't have a single person staying in them any more.
Phasakorn Suntharot. The owner of Suntharot Apartment. Said that his tenants started to leave during the first wave of the pandemic. Then just when it looked like there was to be a recovery along came the second wave.
His tenants were all people who worked in the entertainment industry and they have just gone home to save money.
He has just one room rented out now.
Pattaya has nothing left, he lamented.
Nobody left in town
Then who are all these people packing LK Metro on a nightly basis? Although many of the once popular gogo bars like Kink and Ninja are not open, those open bar beers are very busy. As confirmed by Cusland, LK Metro is rocking.
Don't believe what you read. If there is no one in Pattaya why is there still traffic during the day time on weekends?

A lot of bars were busy this past weekend but that's because many haven't reopened yet (or won't be). I wouldn't say LK metro is rocking when half the bars aren't even open LOL.
Girl quality at LK metro is awful right now, continuing its downward trend since July. Significantly better looking girls can be found on soi honey or boomerang now.

The marginal ladies don't have customers so they stop working, leaving the good ones.
Add mlive and bigo.
Absolutely. It doesn't bode well for the future of mongering.
Covid has pushed digitization ahead 10 years.

Local Thais don't go for Marginal lookers. Ex pats-They want rock bottom pricing.

Also some of the better ones stopped working but found a farang BF in Pattaya to support them. You'll see those with back in their old bar drinking with their BF and getting him to buy all her friends drinks.
You would be right if Pattaya was a normal economy, but its not. The average age of punter here today is 60+ and as such you have a lot of girls who that crowd prefers and not so many for younger guys.

Look dead
https://forum.thaivisa.com/topic/1205336-the-bars-and-clubs-might-be-open-but-pattaya%E2%80%99s-famous-nightlife-looks-dead-and-buried/
It was reminiscent of Mr Bumble wandering down a snowy street in Oliver Twist offering a "Boy for Sale".
But this wasn't desolate Victorian England. This was Pattaya in the 21st Century.
Much of Pattaya is for sale or rent. The "lady" who once offered so much is a shadow of her former self still lying lower than low even after the orders to close were lifted.
Walking Street resembled that lonely road traversed by Mr Bumble in the famous musical trying to sell the little boy.
Just like then there were few takers.
Pattaya Update News, and an identical story on We Love Pattaya, said that bars, pubs and entertainment places could now open to 11 pm.

Covid has pushed digitization ahead 10 years.
Thailand's education system is awful, especially in rural areas. Its min wage is about 330 baht a day and plenty of places manage to pay even less. The supply of girls who want to make big money working in P4P instead of a lifetime of making about 10000 baht a month will not dry up. Someone has to support Mom's gambling addiction and Dad's drinking addiction!
Also lots of Thai guys pay for sex. Its a part of the country and not going anywhere.

When the Green light is given it's not going to happen in "5 minutes" but the bounce back of such places will occur rather quickly. There may be some changes on how things will be done, but that's just simply too much money for the "Fat Tony's" and "Mayor Quimby's" (I. E. Not so legit businessmen and politicians) to just let pass away all going directly to people on the internet. They will get their money somehow and that probably means bringing back the old with some new things.

Palace when it was a party before the pandemic.
Now you can judge when was the hotter girls and more fun at the Gogo bars. Videos are courtesy from your favorite neighborhood Spider-Man.

And yes there will always be the uneducated, but again as we have seen in the last few years it is the bottom of the barrel that goes to work in the farang oriented Go-Go bars, as opposed to the more absurdly priced locales that cater mainly to Asian men who again have very different expectations from Western men as far as performance is concerned. Mind you I am not centering on looks but the entire package.
Local Thais don't go for Marginal lookers. Ex pats-They want rock bottom pricing.
In general, Farang and Asians have totally different preferences for Thai looks. Farang like girls who look like girls at Windmill, Sapphire, Billabong, Coconut, and lots of bar beers. Asians prefer Baccara, Sensations, Pin Up, Happy, Palace, and Hollywood looks. Girls are no different and select where they work based on the clientele they prefer.

There are only about 10% of the gogo girls as there were pre COVID and the hot girls I know are living the high life in the comfort of their home while their Sponsors don't want them to work. What else are Sponsors going to do with their money if they can't monger?
