Fields Avenue is pretty safe because there are plenty of cops and barangays surrounding the area plus there's a police station a block away. The cops actually will close the street to car traffic at night to enhance protection. However, foreigners are still juicy targets so you can help yourself by not increasing your chance of being a target. Don't drink yourself into a stupor. Don't flash your stash. Avoid fights with a local unless you're willing to fight a mob. If you're driving, park within view of the security guard. Most murders here are usually personal or political. Pickpockets and snatchers are more common than strong arm robbery. Just use your common sense and street smarts. Remember, muggers prefer easy victims so don't act or look like an easy mark.

One place to avoid are the trikes near Johnny's supermarket and the area behind it. These guys will set you up there. Quite a few hotels have been warning customers about that area. Also, watch out for "the hotel sent me to pick you up" or "remember me from the hotel...you want a ride" phrase. Note they never say which specific hotel you're staying in plus hotels want payment in advance for that kind of service. If you don't recognize him, don't go with him.

Wizzy, I have just returned from Angeles City and never felt in danger but obviously you must use a bit of common sense, don't wear a genuine Rolex or carry your life savings with you, the people are very poor so you should not put temptation in their way.

You could also get shot in London or New York but it is most unlikely.

The tourist police are indeed gone but it's still pretty safe around the bar areas. There are more barangays (guys in dark blue or yellow vests) picking up the slack. I haven't notice any drastic change.

Thanks for the info Darth Sushi. I plan to be there around the middle of December and I know thats when a lot of robberies happen so its good to know that there's still some type of police presence.

I have to agree its a big rip off taking the trike anywhere in Angeles. I make only exception if I am leaving bar with girl and staying far away like Clarkton. There really is not a need to take trike for everything really is within a 14 minute walk Besides walking you you can stake out the tomorrow night entertainment for your room. What I normally do is just rent a motorbike. Its P350 a day and you come and go as you please and alot less expensive than taking a trike. The only thing to remember is the liability lays squarely on you if something happens to the bike. I have had good experience but got fleeced by a place I rented a bike from. They charge me extra day and I Know for fact that date was wrong when I return Bike. Yes I made a stink with the Australian / British owner but to know avail. Even proved to him I was not there on first day of rental. Well so I got charged an extra P350. I suppose he needed it alot my than I did so why fuss over something a little over $7. 00. Its to bad because I used them 3 times previous times. I guess they gained P350 and lost my future business as well.company name I won't say because I beleave that there is possibly policy doing that. Still Bike rental is far better than a trike and when you bar hop in evening make sure you leave bike in safe secure place. Use bike for daytime exploration.

Just got back from a couple of days of R&R in AC. The big event this weekend was the Grand Opening Of Golden Nile. I am sure most of you guys have passed by the place. That huge club with the big "Bad Influence Dancers" sign up front.

The place sure does not disappoint. A Very nicely appointed club with great lights and sound. Similar to Blue Nile, but nicer and bigger. There was a great party atmosphere on Friday with some very good dance shows. I especially liked the teddy bear bit.

But really, who gives a fuck. There were guys in there wearing white suits like this was Vegas or something. For me, a club comes down to two simple things; How hot are the girls, and do they barfine. Well, I can certainly say that there are no issues in the hottie department. As a good a line up as you will find anywhere. Unfortunately, I had just barfined a girl from Neros and were barhopping there, so I counln't try out my luck. But the place is certainly on my must-hit list for next weekend. Hopefully it will be more like Blue Nile (been quite lucky there), and less like Atlantis (maybe I will find a girl there at least once before I die).

And one note on my girl from Neros. A sweet girl, but she needed some losening up. I bought her a tekila shot, and even though she didn't want to drink it, since it was a ladies drink, she had no choice. I then bought her a Margarita, same story.

Back in the hotel room, she told me she was one month pregnant. I put the scare into her by telling her that she will have a deformed baby if she keeps drinking. These girls may not care about much, but having a healthy baby is right at the top of their priorities. And I learned something new as well. Next time a girl turns down a tequila shot, I'll ask her if she is pregnent before I force her to drink it.

Due jetlag l walked along fields around 1pm, leaving my regular lady in my room.Went to roadhouse and what can l say?My visits over there are short but intense :)
If you need some medicine to buy after midnight l advise you to buy it at JJ supermarket, the one near Margaritha station.
Prices for sm light vary from 75 to 85p on fields.Perimeter bars are cheaper.I went to vodoo on the afternoon and the deal is, if the doorgirl hand you out a small promo paper you will get your secound drink free. Finally the golden Nile is open, while Cambodia was closed due reconstruction. l will check out Blue nile and others later after l get rid of my stalker Gf and my other date who wants to meet with her auntie.

The first thing I do when I arrive in country is buy a Sim/load for my cell and grab a handful of cheap tooth brushes. When at the hotel, I never leave my tooth brush in plain view in the bathroom. Instead, I open one of the cheap ones and leave that there along with one still in the package. I was surprised at how many girls would not use the items unless you specifically pointed them out for them.

Finally had my November trip to AC, successful as usual. :D

To mention is a 4some I had as an afternoon pleasure,
burnt a nearly 4,000ps hole in my pocket, but worth every Centavo.

Otherwise business as usual, the 4days-diary:
BBBJ in afternoon, one girl frm Easy Beaver LT,
one from Body Shop LT, (I like shopping there....)
afternoon 4some and at night totally drunken no LT,
one girl from Dollhouse LT.
Flight home.

Stayed in my decent hotel I'm used to, it's average in the 30USD range and near Fields,
but for my Christmas trip I'll stay again in Lewis Grand.
Since my Xmas-trip is more than 10 days, I wanna have it nice and neat.

Back to work now.... :(

And I think I've seen them all from Dolly's via K11 to Sonagachi.
With a bit common sense you'll be fine.
